Unlike Italy, where I have heard the tomatoes are more than enough to complete the flavor profile of a typical Italian dish, tomatoes in other countries are not as flavorful. So we use store bought tomato sauce, onion, garlic etc to give it the flavor that suits our taste buds. If we don't add all that extra ingredients, it tastes bland and tangy ugh. Trust me you don't want to eat the sauce without onion garlic and other stuff he adds. I am telling you since I have already tried to make it the Italian way. The tomatoes we get here are really different. Eat Indian mangoes and the rest of the world's mang oes. There's a huge difference. It's the same thing with Italian tomatoes and other country's tomatoes.

It's a treat to see Italians getting disgusted by butchered dishes. I just want you to understand why we do what we do aka why we butcher Italian food.
