- Now in HD. And still no cheesy music or titles!
The video shows Heather Dorniden falling and still winning the 600-meter race in the 2008 Big Ten Indoor Track Championships. - Розваги
If she had just won, she would've been forgotten a day later. Instead she fell, got up and fought against the odds and won and now she will inspire millions forever.
So true🙌
Yep. She sure inspired me! I'm going to use this video with my students.
Why would she forget it a day later? Lol. This would've been a great accomplishment regardless of the fall.. yes the fall makes it more memorable but I don't think she'd forget the next day when you train your whole life for this
@@x.kitsune he is taking about the people the people would forget her a day or later
@@x.kitsune "she would've BEEN forgotten a day later"
It was even more amazing that everyone except her was bent over in exhaustion after the race. She stood straight up, stoic. What a beast.
Adrenaline is a hell of drug. Impressive indeed tho
To be fair, she did get an extra break in between though (jk, she's an absolute beast no doubt)
*She got up and decided to run even faster and take the win.* No regrets, no excuses, no second thoughts, just pure clarity, self-confidence and a winner's mindset.
And the whole world continued on as if she never existed.
@@dakotaridge literally everybody still remembers this day. It's still continuously spoken of. I don't get what you were trying to point out, but you are COMPLETELY wrong.
It's almost like it was a race or something 😂
@@dakotaridge exactly.. None of these matter more than some days
That means she was lazy before she fell
Thank you for the "No cheesy music". It was fantastic to watch just as it is.
Makes you wonder what we are truly capable of. This is one of the greatest athletic performances of all time.
100%! She said alot without speaking, even after winning. And for the cheering crowd?❤❤😂. Am literally weeping
Exactly! That's what I was thinking: What would be the time if she didn't fall?
I take nothing away from her heart and soul, but ADRENALINE, good stuff!
@@homersimpson8414
If we could learn to harness our adrenaline then we’d really bring new meaning to the expression fight or flight; I honestly believe we were meant to fly; in this world and in the next;
Actually it speaks to her character and to luck and timing....so ya i guess.
Over a decade later we are still enjoying one of the best races in history!
I just see it today for the first time
That bc it's more about the effort than the race
This is such an amazing sporting moment. I have watched it at least 25 times.
The most "sport" in it was her teammate which didn't "just let her" win but fought to the end. Actually, initially it was Dorniden's mistake during overtaking - but of course her comeback is the most unusual and inspiring aspect and the thing to learn from this race.
Why not 26
@@jootpepet That would clearly be 1 too many times
really? normal thing when u go out home when youre young...
only?
This video moves me to tears every time I watch it. Never, ever give up!! Ever!!!
I thought only I cried!
I literally cried for hours after watching this, even my roommates cried and now we're sat around in a circle wiping each others tears.
Me too.. found a new star
Me too. Tears. Every time !
@@dann5480 hahaha
This is so applicable to anything in life really
Ive used this one several times as a motivational video. Heather was all heart and determination that day. 100% Legend.
Great idea!!
I remember my pastor using this as a sermon opener.
This is emotional for me and a lifetime lesson as well. Though others may have trip you, betray you, forsake you and left you behind to die in your pain, shame and missery, know that there is more inside you to make it to the finish line as a winner. Never give up.
This gave me chills! DORNIDEN COMING DOWN THE STRETCH FROM THE OUTSIDE! DORNIDEN COMING ON STRONG! DORNIDEN FROM ALL THE WAY! DORNIDEN! YES! YES! SHE DID IT!WOW! UNBELIEVABLE!
Me too, why is that?
And she was barely winded. What a machine.
That is the power of Adrenaline.
@@Heart2HeartBooks and good lungs. Adrenaline dies out once the race is over and immediately fatigue takes its place. But she looked somewhat fine for doing such an amazing feat
well she did take a little break
@@pianissimo7121 womens adrenaline takes a moment longer to kick in than a man then shes got a burst of speed for a minute. It's science
@@pianissimo7121 unbelievable shees not even out of breath unbelievable
Wow thanks for the HD clean video. It is almost beyond belief that she was on her face with one lap left and fought back to win. Just incredible.
This is what heroism and humility look like, no mocking, no celebration, no "showboating". It reminds me of an old saying "It's better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war." This woman should be held up as a role model for all of us.
This is what getting pissed and getting a shot of adrenaline look like 😂
Bad f##k'n a$$!!
I hadn't heard that saying in more than 40 years...you're on spot...although, it also depends on who that gardener is. But this race is as cool as it gets.
@@jeffreyyoungblood7438 If you were angry could you run that fast?
You just got that from Rogan 😄
Oh my god dear Heather Dorniden you made my heart explode with joy, bless you!!
I show this to ALL my physics students each year for motivation in class and with life. I actually have a hard time showing it every year because I am so touched by this performance. I agree... tear inducing when you frame this performance to the broader lens of life in general.
Run against losers and you will easily win, even if you f up.
physics has no inspiration to offer? No offense but when I was in school I needed a reason to be there.
Finally, a video, with phenomal quality of said race. Kudos to the uploader. Just to give a measure, of difference, up to seing this, I had the impression, the star painted on her left cheek, was a bruise caused by her fall. As for the race itslef, the achievement is, as many times mentioned, UNBELIEVABLE!
She got me crying all the way
Why would you cry?
Thinks: “Oh crap, now I’ve got to show everyone how fast I really am.”
This has always been, and will continue to be, my favorite video on UA-cam. Just to add something that isn't mentioned much in all of these awesome comments. .She didn't just fall, get up, come back and win. She fell AT THE START OF THE FINAL LAP, got up, came back and won, making it even more unbelievable.
how there are better motivational vids
The absence of music and dramatization makes this so much more powerful. Thank you!
I will never get tired of watching this. One of the greatest comebacks of all time!
She ran onto her pretty little face and won. She beat the odds like I’ve never seen before. 😮
Fine example of 'never give up attitude'. Very inspiring and emotional. The feeling that you get by succeeding after crossing an extreme obstruction with determination is amazing.
This was used today as a visual representation in our Sunday Sermon “even though she fell, she accelerated and WON the race” to God be the Glory! I love this so much
Magnificent !! Heather was so composed , especially after she crossed the line. Music is perfect, too !
I always think she would not have won without falling. This is what truly inspires me.
It's the announcer's excitement for me. Perfectly encapsulates how I was feeling watching this
Damn, I felt the energy of the crowd through my screen !!
This is the most empowering thing Iv seen in a very long time. When you fall in life, you get up and run even harder !!!! Give it all you got and you WILL make it just like Heather!
and the greatest thing about this astonishing performance is the look on her face right after shes come back and won it. 1:41. as if shes saying "knock me down and I'll still win. no big deal..."
Just came from the clip of the fall.. this gave me chills watching!!
Great job ladies!!
She wasn’t even breathing heavy or anything!!
Amazing!!
Just goes to show ya when ya want it, sometimes ya gotta get up and take it!!
One of the most classic videos on youtube.
One of the greatest acts of athleticism I've ever witnessed.
Makes me want to cry every time, even though I've seen it a hundred times!
I get all the feels every time I watch this video and then the video in which Heather talks about what happen. Heather performance is why I love sports.
This is a true champion of champions..my 11 yr old is so inspired by this athlete...I hope this young lady continues to achieve greatness...we are her #1 fans ❤
Moved to tears. This warrior’s spirit was never broken. That fall was like Ms pac-Man chopping a power pellet. This is one of my favorite races.
Love how shes not even out of breath like her teammate after that power sprint, I bet she got some adrenaline after the fall and felt like she was flying.
it shows true grit that nothing will keep her down and she wasn't going to stop until she actually finished, then she grew wings I swear and blew past everyone, a real champ
I have watched this back ti back and each time with goosebumps
Thanks so much for posting this high quality video. I don't recall having seen it! The race is still going viral over 14 years later, but usually without acknowledging the amazing athlete's name. Now I can re-post and give credit where it's due: Heather Dorniden is inspirational.
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” Thomas A. Edison
Ummm, no its let go and proceeding further.
Doing the samething over and over is a one way expecting different results leads to failure.
Tomas edison stole most of his ideas so gtfo.
This is probably his most poignant quote
Thanks, Dan. Well spoken.
Lifelong spots fanatic - and this was one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. Adrenaline rush? That much better than her opponents to begin with? Pure will? All of the above combined? Congrats Heather Dorniden. The more you think about it, the more inspiring it is.
I just love this young lady’s determination to win regardless of what transpired during the race! What an incredible inspiration!
Under the circumstances this was the greatest running comeback I've ever seen 🙆🏻♂️
I have to tell you girl you have the heart of the champion you deserve everything you get great run
No complaints, just raw determination. She is my hero
This is a pure piece of inspiration. I wish I could develop that never give up attitude in my life.
Amazing!!! Unbelievable!!! Power!!! Beautiful Miss Dorninden!!! Love!!! Show!!!
She would not be denied, a true athlete.
Chariots of Fire moment. Unbelievable. I teared up watching this.
Yes. Chariots Of Fire. Wonderful movie.
Amazing race by Heather.
This is not because of her skills, practice and efforts..... It is her precious will to fight back...
and also the combination of skills, practice and efforts
@@kjdnyhmghfvb NO THAT IS COMPLETE NONSENSE!!! It's the power of friendship and anime

Nah it's coz of everything combined dummy 🙄
Thank you for this high quality video. Heather - thank you for your incredible motivation. Hopefully millions see this video and millions are as motivated as I am right now to get up when I fall down and to give 150%, to get up and finish the race as a winner.
whenever i feel down i come back to watch this. makes me lift myself up everytime
Talk about perseverance, diligence, being focused, and NOT giving up no matter what!👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥
This is what being a human is about. When you’re on your knees just get up and keep going. Things like this can happen
Eric Liddell did this back in the 1920s--then later won gold at the Olympics in Paris in '24.
Thanks for putting this in HD and letting this speak for itself without commentary and music; it's something that speaks for itself and universally to us all.
When she crossed the first runner after falling, cheering off the crowd is hats off. It's not over until it's over
I can't believe what I just saw. What an amazing athlete. I hope her future is just as amazing.
This is incredible to watch. I'm grateful you shared this.
Heather Dorniden’s race is possibly the most prolific race of all times. Historically, it doesn’t get any more inspirational that this.
Actually, there are many races more inspirational. Check out Dave Wottle in the 1972 Olympic 800 final, or Lasse Viren falling in the 10,000m final, but winning in world record time.
These girls ran a pedestrian :32 for the last 200, so catching them wasn't that hard.
This is so inspirational it moved me to tears.God bless you,Heather.
Just came across this video the other day, shared it with my Great Niece who runs track. Thank You Heather for showing us were there's a will there's a way
Now that's Really inspiring tbh. She lost all her lead but continued the race and won🎉
this clip gave me inspiration! YOU GO GIRL!! i got teary eyed...proof that no matter how many times you fall (or pushed down), get back up again and GO!!
Just wow! What can someone achieve from an impossible situation if you don't give up? YOU NEVER LOSE IF YOU DON'T GIVE UP!!!!
Her indomitable spirit! Thank you for the quality video w/o music etc.
Thank you so much for the Hd Video quality... I was searching for it since many years.... This video always inspires
Wasn’t even winded or anything at the end!! Amazing!!
I gotta quit smoking, and go for a walk!!
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug! I love how even at the end, she's just standing there casually while her teammate and other competitors are practically doubling over in exhaustion. She's just all "yeah, that just happened." But man, she's going to feel it after it wears off, lol.
This was a great display of grit and determination! Plus she looks absolutely lovely on the track..🥰
Absolutely Amazing. Reminded me to get back up right now and keep fighting.
Simply inspirational she is 💪❤️ 🏃🏻♀️ Heather
Amazing. A highlight for the history books.
Brings tears to my eyes watching that amazing performance!
I'm reading a book by Dr. Tony Evans titled "Kingdom Prayer", he used this as an analogy, so I stopped where I was at, and came to UA-cam to see it for myself! My Lord! ❤
In that moment this young woman displayed the very best of the human race. Watch it every morning.
one of the most inspiring video i have seen in my life.
"Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak" - Sun Tzu, The Art of War
saving this video.. when the time comes when one of my daughter's are down.. this surely will pick them back up. ❤❤❤
Absolutely amazing
"This is basically a sprint."
"This is an extended 400"
I understand...and I accept.
HOLY CHARIOTS OF FIRE!! This reminds me of that, where Eric Liddel fell in a race, yet came back to win, real story.
It brings tears to my eyes every time i see it.
Thank You God for Children.
Iv'e watched various videos of this particular race hundreds of times, and i'll keep watching various videos of this particular race hundreds of times more until the day i die!
Absolutely amazing!
It literally felt like watching a movie. It is remarkable!
That was a amazing finishing kick. And let's not fail to acknowledge the assist given by her teammate when she (the teammate ) successfully boxed out the other runner.
That teammate could've sprinted to the finish, but she held back .
This is a huge learning for the human been. You can reach anything. Bravo!!! Thank you for this grear lessons. Its inspiring to me
Imagine if she had not fallen. Irony is had she not trip she would have still won but not doing last lap as she did had she not fallen...
Amazing...
That's Why They Say Never Give Up, Never Quit
Thanks for sharing in higher definition...
Winners like this are *AMAZING !*
This never gets old.
Her interview about this is amazing too
That is the gutsiest move ever , pure determination , most would have given up , big thumbs up Heather .
Greatest comeback of all time 💯💯💯🔥
I get inspired every time I watch this!
Bless you for uploading it without any corny music or reactions or any silly commentary like "what happened will shock you..." ❤
