I think this type of challenge might have enspired the “Reach the goal without landing” clear condition in Super Mario Maker 2. And by the way, that clear condition has double meaning. It can mean reach the goal without touching the ground. But it can also mean reach the goal without jumping.

And THAT's where you are wrong - 8-4 must be unlocked via secret exit, yes, but the first part of 8-Castle is where you get chased down by Bowser Jr.
No thats the final level with Jr. Clap is right because part 1 of Peach’s castle is the lava level, then the next stage is the bowser Jr. one.

I feel touching the colored rock to make it move shouldn’t count as touching the ground. If it’s required to land on it to make the level moveI feel you can land on it. Sort of like check points in the challenge. Either way this is a pretty good challenge for jump man Mario.

Don’t be silly Nathaniel you just put a clear condition “Without torching the floor after leaving the ground”
to get to the secret exit in 1-2 without touching the ground you need an ice flower to freeze the coins then just duck hop through (or a mini mushroom to fit in between the space with the blocks), for the narrow pathway use a boost star and kill the plant and the freeze goombas at a presice moment to just barley make it out (or use the mini mushroom), then do a well timed jump and a block place to make it across and for 6-mid castle just use a mini mushroom you can get these power ups by ending at specific times, for exaple if you touch the flag when the last 2 digits read "66" then you get a mini mushroom
