You should never judge a parent who is dealing with their autistic child especially if you don’t have experience with one or you haven’t lived with one
Every child is different so there’s different ways for parenting even if you’re just a sibling you still have to contribute with helping your siblings.

Isaiah is the best, most accommodating teen I have every seen. He doesn’t complain. He didn’t whine about cleaning the kitchen. When God made him He broke the mold. He is one of a kind.

New subscriber. She does so much similar to my daughter! From meltdowns to vomiting from over eating and then being overwhelmed or anxious. Not knowing how much medicine stayed down. I will be binge watching. Knowing other parents just doing the best we can and just letting them know they are loved regardless. Thank you.

May I just say THANK YOU SOO MUCH for not showing any gagging or throwing up, I have a major issue with that. It gives me bad anxiety and hearing about it is the maximum I can handle. 100% same! I can barely take care of my own kids when they get sick and it makes me feel so bad! I have bad panic attacks anytime someone says their feeling sick.
Yes... It can be hard for siblings. I remember waiting for my parents in the car while they went into the doctor's surgery, and my brother started shouting for them which was fine, but when he saw they weren't coming... He got out of the car and ran into the surgery calling for them. I was very flustered!

I just started watching yesterday and I can't stop a beautiful family
aww I just want to say tat you are two incredibly amazing parents. Watching this, especially at the end brought tears to my eyes. Parents of chronically ill and/or disabled children never get enough credit, rather others who have no idea what life i see like for them will judge them and critique them rather than just see how hard they are trying to be the best parent possible for their child. I suffer from a couple different very rare chronic illnesses and because of them I suffer in a lot of intense pain all the time. I’m 31 years old now but got sick when I was only 12. My mom and dad were there for me right from the beginning of my illnesses and they never gave up fighting’s for me. Even through the Twelve plus years I suffered having one doctor after another try to convince us that I was only exaggerating things for attention they stood by me no matter what. Finally just before my twenty fifth birthday I received

I loved Isaiah running around. I do that sometimes with the kids. In the car they get all hyped up, I wind down the windows and we all yell. Who cares whos watching. But Im so glad you guys shared your moments of frustration. And you are right, we all get frustrated, children want attention and love, and Ive caught myself saying "just go to sleep!". Honestly, (for me anyways) whats an extra five minutes longer, so you can talk to your children, or run your fingers through their hair. Its the small things!

I’ve always though y’all handle everything with so much grace. You show the highs and lows in such a real way. I think my favorite part of the video is when Asa admitted he got frustrated. It’s so encouraging when others solidify that they too have moments that they get frustrated by their kid’s’ actions. Sometimes the guilt of feeling frustrated by my SN Twins is overwhelming. Thank you Maass fam for spreading hope and love through validation of real life parenting❣️
Every autism sibling vlog I watch I cry. My son is 4.5 years old. He has autism and is nonverbal. I hope and pray every day that I raise my daughter to treat her brother with the love, compassion, and kindness you have for your sister.
You are GREAT parents. Nobody is perfect. But the warm feeling I get watching your family... That is a house full of love.
Isaiah, my nephew worked at Porsche. There was a .06 cent part that cost $6000 to replace. It always broke down & caused problems at 50,000 miles. By then the original owner has traded it in and the problem became someone else’s. So my nephew designed a part to replace that one. The new part would cost $50 and should last for at least 300,000 miles. Porsche refused to take his design into consideration. He took them to court for gouging and won. Porsche was ordered to refund full costs to every customer they had gouged with that .06 part. He now works for some organization and is designing safer parts for oil rigs & piping. He also did a short stint for the US Government designing safer equipment for our troops.

“This is real life”. Yes. I think I’m not alone in thinking that I couldn’t imagine dealing with the things that you do. With that said, this is your life and your family makes it so relatable and normal. If this somehow became my life, your family proves that we, me, my family could still have a “normal”, if normal is still a thing anyway... I have only followed your channel for a couple of weeks but have watched most of your vlogs. You are all amazing and have enlightened me to see there is so much more to a person who can’t always express themselves the same way that I can. Thank you.

I have two boys. My youngest Aiden is 2 and has autism. After watching yalls vids I hope my oldest grows up to be a wonderful sibling like Isaiah. Right now Graeson is 6 and doesn’t always understand why Aiden won’t play or respond to him. But hopefully in the future they can have a relationship like Theirs.

Hi ... just a suggestion.. maybe you can have Abby get check by a specialist to evaluate her food reaction in relation to her GUT system. Also, I observed that her motor posture is in flexion.. low muscle tone or hypotonia which correlates with her regulation, social emotion, communication and intention even swallowing and digestion.Her receptive language is so amazing...

Really enjoyed this video. Isaiah could tell his coach he gets extra practice whenever he takes his sister out...sprinting when she bolts ;) Seriously though, with all that is crazy in this world, it is so refreshing to see how well Isaiah has tuned out. That is the best tribute to your parenting skills in your efforts to balance both Abbie's and Isaiah's needs. Abbie even managed to give Priscilla some exercise when she tried to get her to take her pill. See, that is a great career choice. Abbie could be a personal trainer. :) How lucky were you all eating Thanksgiving dinner early. You all could do a meal of everyone's favorites or even go out to eat on Thanksgiving. I am sure you all will come up with something. Sorry I haven't commented on the last few videos. I'm having some serious life issues...husband not doing well medically and both my parents fell 3 days apart. Hard to get a break but one of the things I do when I can is come and watch your videos. They really brighten my day and I appreciate all the work put into the videos. I have an idea for you guys...what about putting some of Abbie's art on Christmas Cards? I bet some of us would buy those. It would be a good way to spread more awareness around the world. Don't blame Isaiah from running when told he had to clean the kitchen. Hey guys! just subbed! watched like 5 vids of yours now. I have been working with Autism in a school for just over a year now and i still got so much to learn and you guys are doing an amazing job! im so impressed! your videos make me smile so much! keep it up!
Okay, I have to say that the Brothering Autism advice the other day was so good and helpful!
We went to a meeting with my older daughter who is on the spectrums therapist, and we were talking about things she could do with her older sister and trying to come up with positive ways they could hang out together (she has a hard time being in the room with my oldest because when they were small her sister had a chronic cough for years because of her own health things and even though the cough is gone she still strongly associates the sound with her sister).
And the #1 advice was for them to do fun food things together at the beginning for positive associations to fun time because food is such a fun motivating thing for both of them, and we got that advice right after seeing the last video where you guys basically talked about the same thing (how you do a lot of fun things that involve food)! It was so fun to see how closely it matched up with what we'd just watched right her on your channel.
So grateful for all the solid advice you have here. It's seriously helpful to have the perspective. Thank you guys.
Oh and I'm still so excited about that Corn Bake Casserole, Priscilla! It looks seriously good! ❤️❤️❤️
