Great video. Thank you kindly. How convincing are you ??!! I went out and bought a pair! During demos in the audio store I thought they held up very well against larger bookshelf speakers. Lets see what happens in my own little space as TV/ home stereo speakers? 😊
I bought these small but good speakers. recommendable. Good sound quality for this price. Enough volume for a small office room. very quick and easy to connect your cell phone.
Love the review! I’d love to know what you thought of them with your turntable? I’m trying to decide between these and the Kanto yu6 or yu4 speakers. I believe these Ruark speakers require a seperate phono stage to be able to connect them to a turntable?
Why I won't get them: only 1 optical in, I need 2 to connect a mac + a pc. No Headphone output to quickly connect a headset for video conferencing. I understand that a qualitative headphone out would require a dedicated DAC and raising the price, but it's just practical...
Great review!!!! Just one question do we need to connect the left and right speaker always with cables? There's no chance to pair them with Bluetooth instead?
Very useful video, thanks. I have a question though. I'm in the market for some wireless speakers to place on a shelf behind the living room couch. They are to be part of a home theater setup. That means that audio delay is a potential deal breaker (especially variable delay) as it will be tiresome and not always possible to match up audio and video . As far is aI can tell the speakers use bluetooth 4.0 so the delay *should* be minimal, but implementation vary. Did you happen to test for delay, if you noticed any delay at all?
I didn't test for a delay actually, however when I've connected my iPad to these to watch UA-cam I haven't noticed anything - but I also haven't been looking for it if you know what I mean?
@@ByteReview I think I know perfectly what you mean - and it is quite helpful. Video/audio being out if sync tends to be very noticeable, so if you haven't noticed anything, it is likely fine for my purpose. I am going to give it a bit of thought though. For what they are, the speakers seem a bit highly priced. Thanks for replying (super quickly!)
@@ByteReview brilliant, just bought a Sony turntable and these, hopefully going to sound great. (Upgrading from some all in one Crossley turntable that wasn’t the best)
Just bought these Bluetooth speakers for my desktop, the best I ever had. Though I still prefer aux in for better sound quality.
I actually prefer the sound that comes from aptx
I use mine with the Wiim Pro Plus. Just brilliant

My turntable was a really cheap and bad one, so I never really used these with it! Sorry I can't be more helpful
Did you find these had the dynamics and excitement to be good for movies and games, rather than just music?
Especially useful as I'm also looking for a Soundsticks replacement thanks
Any audio lag in gaming or movie using non-Aptx bluetooth signal transmissions?
I have a 27" Mac-10 Desktop, Will these speakers connect without any additional accessories?
Awesome video nice to see the sticks have been replaced!
Great review. I'm looking for new speakers and looks like that pair would be my choice.
BTW: What's the name of the song used for testing at 3:20 ?
Cheers! And it’s a song from my old band that’s now dead, you can see the video here if you want to - ua-cam.com/video/LDRppeNKGcw/v-deo.html
What speakers would you recommend as a serious alternative to them? I'm looking for something like these but the price is pretty high.
CAMBRIDGE AUDIO YOYO (M)
Just save up some more. I've tried a few even more expensive setups and just gone back to these.
This or the Sonos beam when you want one product for both TV sound and music in a small living room?
I haven’t tried the sonos beam so I couldn’t say, sorry dude!

Have you tried the bluetooth with and without aptx? Do you hear any difference?
Would these be any good for a Living room TV setup - sitting 2/5 - 3m from the telly? Thanks:)
yep!
Great review!!!! Just one question do we need to connect the left and right speaker always with cables? There's no chance to pair them with Bluetooth instead?
It would still need a cable, to power it
lets see a comparison with the BenQ flat panel units
what about use it with a tv? (hate the soundbar and want to go minimal)
@Byte Review - compared with the Soundsticks you had previously, do you find the MR1s to be lacking in bass, given that there's no subwoofer?
Surprisingly, no. They’re really quite bassy without one!
@@ByteReview Thank you! I'm considering buying a set, but just unsure about the bass! Glad to hear that you haven't found this to be a problem.
No worries :)
So confused deciding between these and the ELAC Debut ConneX
Great video! Can you use the sub from the soundsticks with these?
Nope
Very useful video, thanks.
I have a question though.

Funny I'm looking to upgrade my soundsticks to these too 😊. Do you know how they compare to Kef X300A?
I don’t, sorry dude!
Not sure about the actual sound, but do notice some internal standing waves on MR1 at the lower mid range.
Dude, speaker cable lenght?
How good are they outside ?
Haven't used them outside!
Little late to the party but I see Gunship on there. yes!
Love Gunship!
Damn these speakers sound amazing
What is there to laugh about with the soundsticks? :O ok they look a bit funny but they offer(ed) proper sound for their price.
*Nice video my bro! Your are improving day by day.... Nice* ❤️
Cheers dude!
if the left/right channel are wireless, that may justify the price
Can I use this speaker with DAC 3.5mm unbalanced?
Yes
@@k-doggy1762 thanks for the reply. I bought these speakers to use with my pc last year. They are amazing.
Will these pair up to a Bluetooth turntable?
I don't see why not!
@@ByteReview brilliant, just bought a Sony turntable and these, hopefully going to sound great. (Upgrading from some all in one Crossley turntable that wasn’t the best)
It sounds small. The actual is small size.
u talked about the price but didn't tell us anyway
Desktop speaker with no usb or rca line-in for external dac = pretty pointless.
The aux input is a 3.5mm mini RCA. I've used these with Chord Mojo 1&2 which have made them sound even more spectacular.
No WiFi. No good
Not a proper review, just a useless puff piece
Are the speaker covers removable or nah?
Nope they aren’t, in fairness I didn’t try but there was no hint that you could.
