i had the same kind of crash at the same S chicane with another driver that said i was wrong and i should had given space, of course i reported him, since he didn't took accoutabilite or even appologise.. he lost 0.60 SR. Drivers need to have race awareness, you cannot just miss your breaking point, or come into a different line a dive bomb into a corner like that... for me thats a report! For your move into the 7th pos, it was agressive yes, and good you didn't took him off the track..
Thanks for the feedback! Interested to know that's how it determined in a different race. A 0.60 SR hit is pretty big! I'm still chill on the reporting stuff currently. I know its just mistakes and its likely I will make a similar mistake at some point too.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport its a journey, im currently B3 and 6.80 SR… we all commit mistakes and accidents happen, at some point we spoil the race for somebody that has no fault whatsoever, our obligation is taking accountability and message the person talking about it.. sometimes reports happens because people just dont take accountability and think they have the right to do such things and say nothing whatsoever..
my fault .... missed the braking point slightly and then there was no escape :-) ... I try hard to drive clean and respectfull... this time not successful ... still a rookie as you (simracing since around one month) and still learning .. see you on track, BR, Moritz
Hey, I was 1 of the Ferraris behind you at 4:20 (the clean driving one) I remember this race and was feeling so bad for you to get taken out that heavily by the other Ferrari. He was WAAAY too late on the brakes, I was just driving normally, not on any breaking limit as you say in the video. Thats why I didn´t touch anyone here.
How cool you found the video! It was nice to race you, and I am glad that you did not get caught up in it as well. Hopefully see you in another one soon!
Start tip for the 296 and other turbo cars. Floor it and use the brake to keep your speed to 70. Keeping the revs high like this will optimise your launch.
That crash on the chicane was definitely not on you mate. A classic divebomb that absolutely didn’t work out at all. You did nothing wrong there. About your move on the last corner… To me that move was a bit ambitious.
agree!!! case 1.) is a typical divebomb. case 2.) a littlebit agressive move but yeah he could have left space. but hey... it just pixels don't take it too hard. best advice get out of rookies asap most important is keep it as clean as possible. don't race too hard in rookie class.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport No worries man! I really enjoy your content and you definitely have the pace to climb up the ranks. I’m looking forward to race against you soon. Keep it up!
Good racing! It’s enjoyable to watch you make your way through the rookie levels, and it gives me things to learn as I progress as a super rookie. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed that. I quite like knowing corner names and learning a bit more about the tracks. I can certainly do that more in future videos if you think its worthwhile.
Hey Bradley, nice video. Regarding the incidents, divebomb is a divebomb and it usually has some victims. Not your fault in either case. Usually, when I'm not sure of who cause an accident, I use the replay to verify the opponnent's speed in a particular corner in previous laps. If it's the same, it's me who caused the accident. If it's too different, I blame them. :) Regarding your overtake in that corner, it was a well-used opportunity. My racing carreer in iRacing hasn't changed much. I had a first wet race in Toyota GR86 yesterday which was a lot of fun. Unfortunatelly I got hit 3 or 4 times (not my fault) and finished 13th from P4 at the start. Still, I liked that race - difficult conditions lead to more mistakes. That's it. Looking forward for your next videos :)
Thanks for the feedback! Thankfully I haven't had any more moment like that in the recent races. Sounds like a tough wet race in iRacing. I have actually been enjoying the wet races when they come up, even if they are a high heart rate race haha.
Loving th vids definitely think you should give iracing a go having a huge variety of differnt cars to drive with constant filled online races is awesome
Glad your enjoying them! Struggling to get my head around just one car currently haha, but some variety in the future will be nice. I'm interested, like many, to see what AC Evo will be like. But seems that release keeps getting pushed back.
Hi Bradley - first - well done! nice to watch!! Well, donington is a very special track. The worst u can do is step hard on brake an throttle. The curves here need extremely smoooooooth work on the pedals. You had "high" settings fpr TC and ABS that cost a lot of time. As soon as you lower them the car will get "twitchy" as long as you do not step very very smooth (slow) on the pedals. Imho u should try a more progressive pedal movement - again this means patience. Patience on the pedals! Soon u will see, that Donington is extremely fast as soon as you fell the rythm of the track and much more important - let the car make the work. Do not try to to put your will on it - let the car work. Hard to explain as I am a german and maybe not finding the right words :) This is somewhat like the Schumacher style. Not going with 100% at last moment braking into the corner, but 95%, stabilizing the car, high speed through the corner and fastest way out. Thus e.g. beating any of his teammates all the time. watch this one ua-cam.com/video/NtaV_cOGgTM/v-deo.html
Wow, thank you for this input! A very insightful video there. Schumacher's Ferrari era was when I really started getting into my motorsport. I still have a big Ferrari flag from my visit to the 2004 Australian GP. In LFM off season now, so its full practice time now, and I will be giving this a go!
I've just started in LFM this season so I feel your pain. Been sim racing for 5-6 years so not exactly inexperienced. 1st Incident 100% on the other guy, but expected in rookies. I just try and predict what the other drivers are trying to do and I try not to fight too hard to try and keep as safe as possible. 2nd one I think is on you, expecially in rookies. Again I'm trying to be 100% safe so I'm not pulling a move like that. If it's not rookies then I think its ok. I decided to try LFM as I thought the racing would be a bit cleaner given the licence test etc. Not finding that so far. In over half my races someone wrecking me out. Dive bombs, just running into the back of me etc which is a pain as I only get to race maybe 3-4 races a week. My main focus now is to just accumulate enough safety rating, forget about ELO and championship points, to get out of rookies as quick as possible and hope it's a bit cleaner in the next level up.
Hey thank you for the honest feedback! I don't think I will be throwing that move again any time soon. It sounds like we are having the same experiences so far. Half are very good and clean, and half are pretty rough for a moment or two. Sounds like we are on the same SR mission now!
@@BradleySettersMotorsport It's just a different mindset in rookies I found. Had the same when i started iRacing as well. Most of the time I'll just let agressive drivers just go past and wait for them to wreck out in a lap or two and get the place back witthout doing anything. I find just keeping it clean and on the road I'll finish around 10th anyway. Good luck and hopefull get to race against each other at some point.
As others have said, the first incident was 100% not your fault, I guess the only thing there you could have done is try to predict what people may do, especially in rookies, but that's easier said than done. The second incident on the last corner, yeah, you shouldn't have gone for it. Based on the corner, you know that they are going to come across on you, but if you had been along side them on the straight, before they started turning in, you would have been in a better position to try a move like that.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport no problem, as you encounter these scenarios, you'll recognise them more and more, but you've also got to make mistakes to learn from them. A guy that helped me out early on kept reminding me to ignore position, and just drive clean. Usually you find yourself finishing high up on the grid.
First of all amazing content as always. About the crash it was all him, he tried to dive too aggressively in to a corner he knew he couldn’t reach. Second one it was unfortunately on you, just came little bit too fast. But hey this is how we learn
Great content here, I've been playing acc for years but finding your streams really interesting. Regards to the chicane, the car behind was too far back, you had every right to hit the apex of which he should have known as he was not near you when you turned in. It's tricky in that you could have blocked off the inside to avoid it but you wouldn't expect a dive there, it's simply not somewhere you can send it so he should have waited, but there is always an element where you can avoid it by covering off the inside line (not saying you should have to but at this level you have to drive defensive as well as attacking)
Hi, let me say first that for a rookie you are driving extremely well, congratulations on that. The first incident that was just a full on send no fault on you at all. The second one with you! I think you could have been a little more patient, especially rookies. Also if you’ve just taken someone out with a dumb move it doesn’t hurt to let them by, if they are still close, or at least apologise at the end. Great videos non the less thank you.
Thank you very much for the comment. I'm trying to be as clean as possible, but was over the line on that one. So thankful for all the feedback, its been a big help!
I think most of us have done the same with that 'pit lane' at Donny :) unlucky with rejoin, the grass can be like ice & ruins many ppls races.. & that sg30, well, just all part of learning :) Some pits are really awkward, when practicing laps, just do a pitstop once instead of the menu return to garage, look where the 50 board is, ppl will knock it over so u need to know beforehand most races. Good videos !
Everyone is telling you about how the accidents are not your fault, but no one is going to talk about that pit into a 2000kg concrete barrier? lmao. Love the content especially since we are right around the same level and I would have probably done the same exact thing haha.
You got to tell the full story right? Such a classic moment that one haha. Glad you are loving the content! Make sure you shout out if we end up in a race together!
i have been slighty struggling with the racing edicate, coming from racing games like need for speed, where you win at any means, last sim racing i played was Gran Turismo 3, so racing on ACC has been a learning experience, cause racing in Need for Speed does not translate at all lmao, as far as feed back i cant give you any lmao, im actually trying to learn from you, cause like i said no translation from NFS to ACC lmao, love your videos so far, keep up the great racing and content
So glad you are enjoying the videos! I can understand the struggle with race etiquette. I have watched motorsport for most of my life and even I am getting it wrong. But its why I am trying to show the good and bad in the videos. And make sure you check out the comments, as the sim community have been giving me so much good advise! Keep at it though, you will get there!
At @20:50 you brakes are a bit too hot which is probably why you overshoot the corner, ducts are a bit too closed. You can get rid of the dust by reducing effects in graphic settings. @21:36 clear divebomb by the Ferrari behind. Was way too much behind, dived and couldn't slow down enough to make the corner. Although not your fault you might have avoided him by keeping an eye on the radar app. Last overtake was bit of a too late dive.
More great advice! Thank you for your comments. Doing some work in this LFM off season to understand these set ups adjustments better. Appreciate the honest feedback on the race as well!
The guy dive bombed you for sure. In fact outside of rookies that would most likely get you reported, especially if there was no post race apology through LFM messaging system. The second one was OK, but not for rookies.. IMO you're trying to get out of rookies so avoiding contact is the most important tactic and where it's easy to avoid, then avoid it. However outside of rookies if someone runs that wide and you're that close then you're not a racer if you don't push the gap. The risk was low because the speeds were slow, so I think the move was legit..but not worth it for rookie racing. Well done anyway, very entertaining 😊.. 👍🏁
My thoughts exactly. The guy in front of him left some space on corner entry, but in rookies you should expect that others will aim for the apex regardless if they are being overtaken on the inside.
Appreciate the feedback here! I think more patience from me next time. I think I got sucked into a gap that was not going to last. Cheers for the comments.
In general, when going for an overtake, you need to have some form of overlap on the defending car, before the turn-in point for the corner. In your shikane example, you are already turning for the apex, and the guy behind kind of T-bones you. So it's on him and he would get a penalty, if you report it (i would report it, he needs to learn that this type of move is not ok within the rules of the league). Your move on the last corner is also kind of too late. It works, because the guy ahead is really slow there, and doesn't turn to the apex as sharply as you normally would there. But it could easily have ended up with you T-boneing him. Those moves can work against rookies, but i would not make a habbit of them, it's very high risk. But it was not a dirty move
Really well explained! I don't want to form bad habits when it can be so costly to myself and others. I can see now the risk was too high, and that more patience is needed. I know others will learn from comments like this as well, so I appreciate the input.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport it's very good that you want to learn racecraft and racing etiquette. Too many people only focus on laptime. I've seen so many drivers that are decently fast qualifiers, but have absolutely no awereness or racecraft on track. Keep at it!💪🏻 The video was also nicely put togehter, enjoyable to watch.
I love watching the on track battles of top drivers in real world, and would love to be able to replicate that in the sim. It takes a lot of skill to pull a clean pass, so I have a long way to go! Thanks for the kind words.
Fantastic work on that P2 mate Unfortunate with the tyre pressures but honestly it's really hard to judge sometimes I'm definitely not the first person to say it but the first incident you were 100% a passenger, he had no right to be there 2nd incident, I can absolutely see what you're thinking and why, but the unfortunate thing is ultimately you weren't significantly alongside at the turn in point and honestly you were pretty far back, so he has picked his line and turned into the corner as he is entitled to The comparison to what the mclaren did is valid but the issue is the difference in corner T1 is a much faster corner so it works as a place you can send that sort of late move and get the car pulled up in time. The final corner is very sharp, so it brings the outside car sharp across the track and there's no room or chance to make a dive without making contact unless the lead car expects it and takes avoiding action Ultimately nothing but a learning experience
Thank you for your comment! And thank you for the comparison to the race 2 pass on me. I think that give me a clear picture on where I went wrong. Full learning experience for sure, and made better by all these awesome comments! I appreciate the input!
@BradleySettersMotorsport No worries at all brother! I'm really enjoying your content so far and I'm keen to watch you progress in the sport The fact that you're asking these questions is honestly the most important thing because it shows you want to learn and grow as a racer There's nothing worse than someone who isn't willing to take the time to reflect on their mistakes In all honesty, I'm relatively fresh to "competitive" sim racing myself. I've just joined an ACC league down here in AUS/NZ and I've only done 3 races that aren't some sort of public lobby racing I'm in the middle of prepping for the season starting next Monday so your page has appeared at the perfect time for me in peak sim racing passion mode 🤣
@@BrisketInTexas you can never stop learning! And hopefully by sharing these videos it means others can learn as well. Glad to hear there are good leagues for me to get involved with one I'm back in NZ in a few years time as well!
@BradleySettersMotorsport yeah, that's exactly it! Yeah, there's quite a few, actually! I've signed up for Rain Light Racing, but there's like maybe like 6 different leagues that I know of Maybe I'll see you on the track one day 💁♀️
I think my key is not trying to drive 100% all the time. And focus on learning the right braking point references in practice before jumping into a race. As a result I struggle to put out an on the limit lap in qualifying, but making fewer mistakes in the race usually yields a decent result.
100% Red Ferrari's fault. Pretty typical in LFM to see people divebomb from way back like that. Sometimes if you have quick enough reflexes to spot a divebomb you can either cut the corner to avoid (just make sure to lift a bit to not get an actual track cut warning) or brake more to let them past because typically they overshoot the corner so you can just take the position back quickly.
LFM rookies what i did was go for tracks with least likely hood of having a bad crash where im innocent and if youre a safe driver with even mediocre pace its worth having a poor quali on purpose cause so many make mistakes
That is great advice. My big trouble races have been where my quaili doesn't go quite right, and you get into the mid pack. Put it together though and its a chance for a fun clean race, like race 2 here. Think ill need to think long and hard next season about which tactic will be best for my SR progress!
Yes it is. Samsung G9 neo 49". So much simpler then triples for my lack of PC tech knowledge. My description of it is that its duel 1440p monitors, so close to 4k total resolution. The new 57" screen is double that, and looks like it would be very hard to run it with even the best GPU. For me, I have a 4080 Super. So the PC is very capable of dealing with the 49" on max settings. Looks amazing and will also allow options for triple screens in the future if I want. Honestly, the PC spec was the hardest thing to work out when I got into this. And I ended up working with a local PC store to guide me through it all.
Biggest mistake you can make in rookies is trying so hard to win, you'll get out of rookies a lot quicker if you don't try risky moves and if someone is trying hard to pass, don't risk contact defending. Rookies is about making no contact, whether it's your fault or someone else's.
Enjoying the series, and well done on the pole position. Re the first incident, I think you were completely innocent, and it looks to me like the guy out braked himself. He was a postcode away when you committed to your line. Re the second incident, I’m not sure it was really on the other guy. You were a fair way back, but it did look as if he wasn’t defending and there was a good gap for you to go through. Which he shut, maybe he didn’t expect you to be there? If he’s racing on a single screen he simply wouldn’t have seen you, other than on the radar. Which as we all know isn’t that accurate under these conditions. Maybe a racing incident but TBH a bit opportunistic on your part…
Glad you are enjoying the videos. I am enjoying all these helpful comments! Thanks for the honest feedback. Seems I was on the wrong side of optimism for my move.
welcome to the LFM Zoo. Remember, 'Rookies' is not just new drivers, it's also drivers who have a really bad safety rating. Hence, it's known as the 'Zoo'
I usually like going to the zoo haha. I have noticed a lot of drivers in my recent races that have plenty of races under their belt, but have obviously had a bad run in recent times. Will have to keep a calm head even when I get out of Rookies so that I don't end up back there!
i just upgraded my motherboard to an MSI Z690 Unify, Brilliant board until you want to use XMP in a four stick config, I had to get another 2x16gb after getting 4x8gb sticks, And even with 2 stick config when I enable XMP my PC keeps crashing, Had the Blue Screen yesterday, So have had to turn off XMP, I still got 4800MHz with the CL36, The 8gb sticks I got is CL40, But DDR5 have improved AMS 2 with the Quest 2 that I use, And AMS 2 is or will be part of LFM I think it will be after the 1.6 update, But now my PC is DDR5 I am wondering if ACC will be better for me in VR, I found ACC really difficult to set up right in the settings, My i5 12600k and 12gb 3060 wasn't enough for ACC in VR, I always found ACC clumpy in VR, Never worked properly for me because my PC don't seem enough for ACC in VR, So can anyone tell me if the i5 12600k and 12gb 3060 can be set up to run smoothly with ACC?, I do hope now though I am using DDR5 CL36 ram, And a decent motherboard with the MSI Z690, Having the clear CMOS button is defo a perk of the board, But the non HDMI is crap, lol, The thunderbolt can be used with an adapter though so I read, So if you wants to use an IGPU on an MSI Z690, Use the thunderbolt connector, Can anyone explain what the best settings would be for me in ACC for the Quest 2 using an i5 and a 12gb 3060?, If it is all low settings though, I will have to see what it is like, lol, But yeah my PC struggles with ACC when I do VR, But it might be a bit better with the DDR5 ram, Coz AMS 2 is fantastic, I can get away with high settings now the PC is DDR5 ram, I would tell anyone if they want better sim racing experience, Upgrade to DDR5 , People will say Ram speeds won't matter, But I can tell you now, When I had 16gb, I would get terrible stutters in AMS 2 when a fullish or a few cars is on the track, I put 32gb in the PC, Boom no more stuttering, I have 4800MHz straight out the box, No XMP, And the PC feels a lot more snappier, The latency between the wheel and screen I have even noticed, Either way placebo or not, The DDR5 ram is giving me better AMS 2 experience regardless if people says extra ram won't make a difference, Have for me, lol... Pretty good racing bro, Smooth, And with confidence, I am going to jump on some LFM races when AMS 2 is involved with LFM, I am looking foward to IMSA in the 1.6 update, I know this is a ACC video before people get at me, My PC seems to cope better with AMS 2 than ACC, Otherwise I would be on ACC as much as AMS 2, The VR in AMS 2 is fantastic, And since I started VR sim racing, I can't go back to a screen again, Unless I had to, But while I can do VR, I am staying VR, lol, I can't afford decent triples, It would cost me another 600 pound to get another 2 of the Acer monitor that I have, And for me the VR and a tower fan, With the defogger for the lens, And the charging PCVR cable I got, Is amazing, I can VR for well over 10 hours if I wanted, I can do at least 4 hours in one VR session now I got the elite strap, I can see VR in the next few years taking over sim racing, When a VR headset that is dedicated to just sim racing and can be improved upon that way, Then VR will be glued to sim racers heads, lol... Some top driving though bro.....
Hey thanks for the comment! This is a questions miles out of my area of expertise. I know that ACC is a heavy game to run on the graphics side. I have a 4080 Super to make sure I don't run into any issues. But VR is a different world completely! Hope someone can have an answer for you!
@@BradleySettersMotorsport No worries, I am hoping in a few months I will be able to get a 40 series, I been looking at the 4060ti, I know it is only a 4060 but it is 16gb of vRam, And in my experience, (isn't much by the way, lol), The vRam has always made sense to have extra vRam, But yeah I will get a 40 series GPU, I will be happy relaxed instead of happy but stressed, lol, I been told to wait for the 50 series to come out, And the 40 series will drop, I also did read there is a new 4080 to be released, But a few people said just sit and wait for the 50 series to come out, The 40 series will come down in price, But Will It, lol, Thanks for replying though, Shows you care more about your channel, So when someone do reply to a message, I subscribe then, Coz if someone can take a few mins to read an reply then I can take a few seconds out to subscribe, Plus the things you speak about, Plays out in any sim racing game really, After all titles like ACC, AMS 2, Do simulation, Just in different ways, But the language of the racing art itself is universal, Making advice that is said on ACC the same on any other sim, Just different cars do different speeds round corners and straights, But the racing line and braking zones would nearly be the same, similar enough to replicate what you do on ACC in AMS 2, And to be straight up, The GT3 in AMS 2, again isn't that much different to ACC, I can jump in either sim and do the same style of racing, As we all got our own styles, I still do heel to toe, In a GT3 car, lol, I see people tapping the accelerator, When dropping gears, I still uses the gear stick, And does heel to toe even when in a GT3 car, lol, I can heel to toe using the paddles now too, I just prefer using a gear stick, lol, I will be getting the adapter for the sync shifter, I have a T300, Or T500 as it comes up as, But I got a T300 GT-RS wheel, With the TH8S plastic shifter, Plastic yes but far far better than Logitech, I wish I got the T300 GT-RS wheel in the first place, The extra cost, Is worth the extra cost when you try a G29 and a T300 GT-RS wheel, I will get the load cell pedal next month fingers crossed, I can get them now, But I would rather wait so I can get them without paying in bits, 200 pounds actually seems reasonable for a Load cell pedal set that just plugs into my wheel no problems, Thrust Master is actually a pretty decent feeling steering wheel, Doing VR getting fancy wheel seemed pointless, And Direct Drive is a bit out of my price range if I wanted the clutch and gear stick, I would not but pedals without a clutch, And I would not get pedals with out a gear stick, Moza would of been to much for me, But the T300 I am able to afford the other wheels ect over time, Sim racing is my hobby for ever now, lol, I even got a Bow an Arrow to take up a new hobby, Archery, I always wanted to try Archery, So i am joining an Archery club next month, Start a new hobby lol..... Yeah I will defo check some of your other vids, I will be scribing now, So I will see your other vids, I will check em now and again, Happy sim racing though, stay safe yeah, Peace....
Yea honestly the equipment side of things was a big headache to work out for me. And just playing ACC made it a little easier, as you don’t need the clutch and shifters to simulate a GT3. I know when AC Evo comes out I will want to add those to try make a variety of cars feel right. But it sounds like you have a nice idea of what set up works well for you. Thanks for the sub mate. I’m trying my best to keep up with all the comments.

Did you see a Ferrari disappear into a random orange barrier by chance? haha. Race ID's were 145595..6..7 if you wanted to check. I've had a few from these races find this video.
First one not your fault but you do take a slow line through the chicane, he takes the esport line but he should have known he couldn't overtake there.
As other have pointed out the chicane was the other drivers fault while the last corner was on you. As for getting out Rookies you need to stay safe, clean and on track for 5 races. You are trying to do your best and win, which will makes getting out of rookies 10 times harder. Try starting from the back and slowly pick your way through the carnage, even allowing faster drivers to pass. Its Rookies, that car will probably crash within a lap or two anyways lol
This is really solid advice. Its hard, as I really want to put my best foot forward. And the races where I qualify well and get to follow faster cars have been amazing learning moments. But when you don't quite get it right, you find yourself in the mid pack action. I think its time I focus just on the SR though. Thanks for the input!
In this video I was using a set up from Ohne Speed on UA-cam. Really nice and stable set ups. For the last while though I have been using a GoSetups subscription. Not necessarily faster then the free set ups, but it saves me so much time getting set ups on the car.
First incident, even if you were to make it through that first part, there was zero chance both of you would make it safely through the exit. That second incident, looks like he realized that you were comming inside and tried to shut the door a little to late. It was a very aggressive move on your part but he also looked like he was moving under braking... racing incident. Luckily that last incident didn't ruin either race!
Judging from the reply you could have turned in slightly earlier, but the gap was there and they suffered sooo much more as everyone passed then, they should have realised that you were going to turn in.
Regarding the incident in my opinion that was a classical dive bomb. The other car has been way too far back to claim the inner line like he did. You can also compare speeds in that chicane. Have you been slower compared to other laps or did you break early? I think not. From what I see there's nothing you could have done. Just my opinion of course.
First one in the nightrace is 100% not your fault. It was a classic Max Verstappen divebomb but not done very good. Maybe he just missed his brakepoint. Second one is the same with reversed roles. You just divebombed him. It was a late move and he did not expect it, so he did not see it comeing. It kinda looks like you would have gone wider that you did when you touched him. So maybe you would have touched him either way. It was not clean.
Given Donington was about 3 weeks ago and if you didn't get reported then I'd say your pass was fine. I had a 3rd place taken from me at Imola with a similar move and after I cooled off and reviewed the footage I chalked it up to an aggressive pass. Don't be shy of sending in reports to LFM for the dive bomb type moves either. That Ferrari came from way back and if he didn't send a "I'm sorry" after the race I'd be hitting up race control. I've had reports made against me for far less than that that got dismissed thankfully.
Yea not reports given or received. I know rookies is about learning, and mistakes happen. So I don't hold anything against anyone. In your opinion, should reports be a normal part of LFM and be viewed with less tension? Is it more fair for the community to be reported for a mistake? Just interested to know your thoughts.
@BradleySettersMotorsport everyone is going to have a different opinion on what is acceptable to report or not. If I'm knocked out of a race through blatant stupidity or from being overzealous, then I would likely report. Rubbings racing as they say, but dive bombs and intentionally causing collisions aren't. Rookie is not only drivers who are new. it's full of drivers that have lost enough SR to be dropped back down into rookie class. They may have hundreds of races under their belts.
First of all, about the last incident, he gave you an opportunity and you took it. The scratch in the paint was a shame (because he tried to close the door) but as they say, racing. No further action. About the accident with car number 12: Unfortunately we don't see any of his settings and inputs in the video, but I can think of a few things that could lead to such a result. As a steward, I would say +10 seconds for causing the accident. But unfortunately you can't hear the other side, so you should always consider that he might be feeling incredibly bad because something like this never happens to him!
Yes 100% this is only ever the story from my side. I will never speak ill of a competitor, so I hope it didn't come across that way. At this stage we are all learning in these races, and I only share moments like this so that great people like you can give some feedback. And I think that helps everyone! Cheers for the comment.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport It's usually the people who comment who don't see the bigger picture and that there's a nice guy on the other end who's really annoyed with himself. As has already been written, you can only try to see what the others are doing. As for you, respect for always staying so calm!
Yea that is so true. We are all just out trying to have fun right? Maybe the end of a busy day, or after kids wearing you down. Not fair for others to then have a go at you for a small mistake in a sim race.
Thanks for the honest feedback. And yes a valid question. I guess in the moment you lunge a gap you see and you don't think about the other alternatives. I agree that the move wasn't on here, and it was lucky we got out the other side. I have since had similar situations that I have not gone for. But asking the question here has been a good exercise for me.
That first ferrari was not on you. He was way too far back to even think of making that move. The incident between you and the ferrari on the last corners is on you I'm afraid. You were too far back and basicly dive bombed him. Since you were faster it might have better to wait 1 more lap and make the overtake clean. But thats my opinion
To me personally, rookies is about learning. Improving your own skills. But also finding ik out that others are more or less skilled and dealing with that properly. The incidents are nearly always a difference in awareness or skills. So my view on the last Ferrari is as follows. To me it looks like he is on his line and does not make any move. Which to me indicates a difference in skillset. He could have defended but didn't. He could have left space but he didn't. Also the collisions on the chicane. The drivers behind are focusing on their position and not looking ahead. Yes they suck. And in my opinion improving your sr will get you in races with people with a higher awareness and less incidents.
@BradleySettersMotorsport that's cool, as long as you're enjoying it, that's all that matters. There are plenty of privately run groups that offer competitive, yet fair racing. I'm part of a group called Sim Seniors.
Red Ferrari was clearly in the wrong. It's not like you were hub-to-hub going into the turn. He dived into you and that caused the incident. You were taking it normally. He was taking it abnormally.
If you expect any different outside of rookie, you're setting up yourself for disappointment. I gave up on LFM over a year ago, never looked back. Nothing beats community leagues.
The Chicane move wasnt your fault. Definitely a divebomb move. No other expectation than a crash really. The last corner move onto the straight. I would say was ambitious. You took a good line and I expect the Ferrari in front was running a bit wide but they are alwasy going to come back. If already alongside then is down to each of you making the room. But sticking your nose into a gap thats always going to close is going to be difficult. As good as sim racing is, it doesnt have the same spacial awareness as reall life so theres a good chance the Ferrari didnt see you coming.
Thanks for the feedback! I am starting to study the unfamiliar circuits more for this sort of knowledge. I have not gone for similar gaps in recent times, and its always been the right call. Making a good clean pass on a driver that is only marginally slower then you is extremely hard! But its a lot of fun learning how to get it right.
I've found that LFM is full of the ACC public lobby racers at the lower ELO ratings, since LFM is free....I can see you're move of a league driver, more "respect" that you'll find in league racing imo
Thank you for the comment. I'm interested to see how LFM changes the higher up my ratings go. But I'm also sure I will find my way into the right leagues in time as well.
The first incident is on the red ferrari. The second is harder. A bit to spicy in to a closing door and hard for the driver in front to predict since the send is pretty late. You're not alongside when he starts turning in and he has committed to his line. but its on the knifes edge for me. But if I had to choose, I would blame you in that situation. Possibly a racing incident. I'm in no way a pro at this. but its my take on it.
Not sure about the last corner move, with no contact it would've been a great move but as there was it depends if you understeered in to him or he turned in on you... that's a hard one but leaning towards racing incident that he left the door open and you was in control, he then turned in on you not knowing you was there. I'm not sure on real rules but to me, he should have taken the inside line to stop you making the move if he didn't want you to, you can't leave the door wide open the slam it shut. But that imo rather than IRL potentially. However as to not contradict my last comment with the chicane, it was a completely different corner which can go two wide and you was much closer, he practically went wide
Mate that’s just a dumb and stupid move from him nothing else to say he was way behind you don’t need to leave him room Good pace for a rookie and gg for the pole position. You will get out there quickly and don’t worry there more idiots out of rookie. I often think you can have good races in rookie than higher splits and levels. See you there on track 😊 Your move was good but aggressive but he did not defend so he could except you sending it 😂
1st incident: you couldnt have done anything, that dive was from way too far and too late to react. 2nd incident: not an illegal move but ambitious. The guy ahead braked early and much stronger than he needed to. It is clear he doesnt have experience so You would have a safer opportunity to overtake within the same lap. You just got lucky this time.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport smaller regional leagues in ACC. In Poland we have few. Better culture if you are not driving save you out. Safety is a priority, then pace. lol. Gotta love the false pit entry at Donnington. I’m pretty sure I’ve done that too
Hopefully its just a one time!
i had the same kind of crash at the same S chicane with another driver that said i was wrong and i should had given space, of course i reported him, since he didn't took accoutabilite or even appologise..
he lost 0.60 SR.
No that's fair actually. Ill keep that in mind.

Escape was going long instead of trying to squeesh in
Hey, I was 1 of the Ferraris behind you at 4:20 (the clean driving one) I remember this race and was feeling so bad for you to get taken out that heavily by the other Ferrari.

Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed that. I quite like knowing corner names and learning a bit more about the tracks. I can certainly do that more in future videos if you think its worthwhile.
Beautiful videos and content, the channel is coming together nicely! 👏
Thank you so much!
Regarding your overtake in that corner, it was a well-used opportunity.
Hard to explain as I am a german and maybe not finding the right words :)
This is somewhat like the Schumacher style.
Go like hell!!! Greetings from Rob from the Netherlands. Just so you know, my last name in pronounced like Utah, just with a 'L' in front of it.
Hey Rob. Thanks for all the help in the LFM chat mate!
That's a fair call on my move. Thanks for the honest feedback!
Great advice! As long as I learn from the mistakes, then its ok to make a few haha.
5:19 that's what I would any give sunday😂
A classic moment right? I don't want to make a habit of that haha
First of all amazing content as always. About the crash it was all him, he tried to dive too aggressively in to a corner he knew he couldn’t reach. Second one it was unfortunately on you, just came little bit too fast. But hey this is how we learn
Thank you! and thank you for the honest feedback. I'm glad I have everyone to ask about these things. Learning everyday!
I appreciate the input from someone with lots of experience!
Shout to OHNE ! Good setups !!! Stable and easy to adjust !
I have found them great! He does good work on his channel.
Yea the SG30 is given just so we can practice it again right? haha. Its been added to my practice list for sure.

Keep at it though, you will get there!
@@BradleySettersMotorsport worst part is im still on controller which makes it harder lmao
Keep at it!💪🏻
The video was also nicely put togehter, enjoyable to watch.
I love watching the on track battles of top drivers in real world, and would love to be able to replicate that in the sim. It takes a lot of skill to pull a clean pass, so I have a long way to go! Thanks for the kind words.
Fantastic work on that P2 mate
Unfortunate with the tyre pressures but honestly it's really hard to judge sometimes
I'm definitely not the first person to say it but the first incident you were 100% a passenger, he had no right to be there
2nd incident, I can absolutely see what you're thinking and why, but the unfortunate thing is ultimately you weren't significantly alongside at the turn in point and honestly you were pretty far back, so he has picked his line and turned into the corner as he is entitled to
The comparison to what the mclaren did is valid but the issue is the difference in corner
T1 is a much faster corner so it works as a place you can send that sort of late move and get the car pulled up in time.
The final corner is very sharp, so it brings the outside car sharp across the track and there's no room or chance to make a dive without making contact unless the lead car expects it and takes avoiding action
Ultimately nothing but a learning experience
Thank you for your comment! And thank you for the comparison to the race 2 pass on me. I think that give me a clear picture on where I went wrong. Full learning experience for sure, and made better by all these awesome comments! I appreciate the input!

How did you become so consistent? I can’t get similar lap times for the life of me
I think my key is not trying to drive 100% all the time.
Thanks for the feedback! I have let a few sail by me in rookies haha.
1st not your fault at all
2nd is also just fine. You make the apex and the contact is made when along side. Aggressive but not unfair.
Thanks for the feedback!

Is that a 32:9/49" monitor you're using? What GPU do you use?
About to upgrade my rig. Seems those monitors are a big test for GPU's.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport Good advice. Thanks.
Biggest mistake you can make in rookies is trying so hard to win, you'll get out of rookies a lot quicker if you don't try risky moves and if someone is trying hard to pass, don't risk contact defending. Rookies is about making no contact, whether it's your fault or someone else's.
Great advice! I'm learning this the hard way at times.
Seems I was on the wrong side of optimism for my move.

i just upgraded my motherboard to an MSI Z690 Unify, Brilliant board until you want to use XMP in a four stick config, I had to get another 2x16gb after getting 4x8gb sticks, And even with 2 stick config when I enable XMP my PC keeps crashing, Had the Blue Screen yesterday, So have had to turn off XMP, I still got 4800MHz with the CL36, The 8gb sticks I got is CL40, But DDR5 have improved AMS 2 with the Quest 2 that I use, And AMS 2 is or will be part of LFM I think it will be after the 1.6 update, But now my PC is DDR5 I am wondering if ACC will be better for me in VR, I found ACC really difficult to set up right in the settings, My i5 12600k and 12gb 3060 wasn't enough for ACC in VR, I always found ACC clumpy in VR, Never worked properly for me because my PC don't seem enough for ACC in VR, So can anyone tell me if the i5 12600k and 12gb 3060 can be set up to run smoothly with ACC?, I do hope now though I am using DDR5 CL36 ram, And a decent motherboard with the MSI Z690, Having the clear CMOS button is defo a perk of the board, But the non HDMI is crap, lol, The thunderbolt can be used with an adapter though so I read, So if you wants to use an IGPU on an MSI Z690, Use the thunderbolt connector, Can anyone explain what the best settings would be for me in ACC for the Quest 2 using an i5 and a 12gb 3060?, If it is all low settings though, I will have to see what it is like, lol, But yeah my PC struggles with ACC when I do VR, But it might be a bit better with the DDR5 ram, Coz AMS 2 is fantastic, I can get away with high settings now the PC is DDR5 ram, I would tell anyone if they want better sim racing experience, Upgrade to DDR5 , People will say Ram speeds won't matter, But I can tell you now, When I had 16gb, I would get terrible stutters in AMS 2 when a fullish or a few cars is on the track, I put 32gb in the PC, Boom no more stuttering, I have 4800MHz straight out the box, No XMP, And the PC feels a lot more snappier, The latency between the wheel and screen I have even noticed, Either way placebo or not, The DDR5 ram is giving me better AMS 2 experience regardless if people says extra ram won't make a difference, Have for me, lol...

@@BradleySettersMotorsport haha well that’s not ringing any bells off the top but thx I’m going to check the race id! Also great content!
First one not your fault but you do take a slow line through the chicane, he takes the esport line but he should have known he couldn't overtake there.
Cheers for the feedback. Will have to research this esports line for next time.
What set up are you using?
Thanks for the feedback! Yes glad the last contact did not ruin either of our races.
Appreciate the feedback!
Thanks for the honest feedback. I was keen to know where the line was, and its clear I'm over it. Good lesson to move forward with for me.
Donnington was last week, not three weeks ago.
Appreciate the feedback. I think that's a good line for when reports are needed.
You were to far behind for that move, looks like more then 2 car lengths, maca was closer. Tell me what was your plan if he would keep tighter line?
Great feedback. Thanks for the honestly!
This explains rookies well I think. Appreciate the comment!
Its a clear dive from the car behind..looks like he just got inpatient..its a rookie race after all..not much that you could do..
First is Not on you, second is. That was a divebomb as well.
Appreciate the feedback, thank you!
The exact reason I don't race LFM. Personally, I'd F off LFM and find a good competitive racing group.
LFM has yet to give me any reason to leave yet. Still having a lot of fun, regardless of some tough moments. What groups would you recommend?
@BradleySettersMotorsport that's cool, as long as you're enjoying it, that's all that matters.
There are plenty of privately run groups that offer competitive, yet fair racing. I'm part of a group called Sim Seniors.
Yeah, he had no right to go for that move, especially from a mile back
P2!
Podiums do feel good!
Red Ferrari was clearly in the wrong. It's not like you were hub-to-hub going into the turn. He dived into you and that caused the incident. You were taking it normally. He was taking it abnormally.
Thanks for the feedback!
If you expect any different outside of rookie, you're setting up yourself for disappointment. I gave up on LFM over a year ago, never looked back. Nothing beats community leagues.
Yes I'm interested to see how things change as I get up the ladder.
He was a Dollar short and a day late on that move.
Plus it's not really the place to be making a move like that.
Great feedback! Thank you!
Yea I think in the end I was a little impatient and was going for a gap that was eventually going to close. Thank you for the feedback!
Mate that’s just a dumb and stupid move from him nothing else to say he was way behind you don’t need to leave him room
Good pace for a rookie and gg for the pole position. You will get out there quickly and don’t worry there more idiots out of rookie. I often think you can have good races in rookie than higher splits and levels. See you there on track 😊
Your move was good but aggressive but he did not defend so he could except you sending it 😂
Thanks for the honest feedback mate! I have been having some very good races in rookies. Particularly recently as I get close to 5.0 SR.
Thanks for the feedback. I did get lucky on my move yes. Will be working on that. Appreciate the comment.
LFM is cancer of this game. Nothing to add.
Out of interest what is your pick as an alternative? Genuinely curious.
@@BradleySettersMotorsport smaller regional leagues in ACC. In Poland we have few. Better culture if you are not driving save you out. Safety is a priority, then pace. Live judges = don't need to creating reports because some "happy driver" decided to smash you at T1 and both of you have -SR just like that :D LFM project was good but they not develop.
@@KarolKrawczyk-x8w Thanks for the reply! Sounds like you have a great community to race in. I agree that LFM has a big task on their hands, but it looks like they are working on it all the time.
