  • We are back with the NYC Subway Map edits. It's time to jump into phase 3 of the Second Avenue Subway which introduced the new T service into the system. This is a timelapse of me doing the edit of the subway diagram being done all by me.
NOTE: I currently do not work for the MTA and I am not affiliated with them.

I think the (A) should only have one southern terminal, so that would be the Far Rockaway Loop. The IND Rockaway Line would also have a new station, Hamilton Beach, located between 163rd Drive & 164th Road. The (A) would also get extended past Mott Avenue, immediately turning right onto Mott Avenue, continuing onto Beach 13th Street, then turning right onto Seagirt Boulevard, eventually merging back onto existing line just after Beach 36th Street, forming a loop. The new stations would be, Gateway Boulevard, Plainview Avenue, Beach 17th Street, Beach 26th Street, & the southern portion of Beach 36th Street, just before merging with the existing tracks.

3:12 - On this ' Experimental Map', each named-letter/numeral route-service has it's own colored-line on the map, rather than all route-services sharing one color-line in Manhattan. This seems to be a merge of the contemporary map with the maps of 1973, where there were more color-lines in Manhattan.

The T trains could definitely replace the furmer 8 Thrid Ave Elevated line in the south Bronx Clearmount Webster Boston road Bronx up to Gun hill road while the Q trains could handle east Harlem and west side across 125 street and then 137 street to connect to the 1 Broadway line.

I think the (4) should serve the Utica Avenue line, and terminate at Breezy Point, Beach 222nd Street. It would stop at the following stations on the new line: Empire Boulevard, Clarkson Avenue, Snyder Avenue, Clarendon Road, Kings Highway, Flatlands Avenue, Avenue N, East 53rd Street, Belt Parkway, Marine Park Floyd Bennet Field, Riis Landing Park End Terrace, Beach 184th Street, Fort Tilden Beach 183rd Street, Highland Place, Point Breeze Avenue, Breezy Point Beach 222nd Street. The line would run underground for one station before going above ground between Maple Street & Rutland Road as Clarkson Avenue would be the last stop above ground before merging with the IRT Eastern Parkway Line. The (2), (5), & (16) trains would run on the Nostrand Avenue Line as local trains with the (2) train running the entire line to Sheapshead Bay, Emmons Avenue. the (5) would run to Gerritsen Beach. The Nostrand Avenue Line would go above ground just before the Kings Highway station between Avenue M & Avenue N also before the Flatlands Avenue line merges with it. The (7) & (9) trains would merge into the Nostrand Avenue Line just before the Church Avenue station, while the (16) would merge just before the Kings Highway station. The (5) & (9) trains would separate from the line just after Quentin Road station, while the (7) train would separate just after the Avenue T station. The (9) train would separate from the Gerritsen Avenue Line just after the Brigham Street station. The (9) train would eventually terminate at Seagate, Surf Avenue, while the (7) train would terminate at Coney Island, Neptune Avenue. The (16) train would separate from the Nostrand Avenue Line just after the Avenue T station, and also separate from the Gravesend Neck Line just after the Haraway Avenue station, going underground shortly after. The (16) train would go to Staten Island, while its terminus is still not planned. The following local stations on the Nostrand Avenue Line are: Beverly Road, Newkirk Avenue, Avenue J, & Avenue L. The Following express stations are: Church Avenue, Flatbush Avenue, Kings Highway, & Quentin Road. The Ford Street station on the Gerritsen Avenue Line is local, while the Brigham Street station is Express. The entire Gerritsen Avenue Line includes the following stations: Ford Street, Brigham Street, Allen Avenue, Everett Avenue, Cyrus Avenue, & Gerritsen Beach as the terminal. The following stations on the (9) train after leaving the Gerritsen Avenue line until its terminal include: Plumb Beach Channel, Voohries Avenue, Mackenzie Street, Ocean Avenue, Corbin Place, Brighton 4th Street, Shell Road, Cropsey Avenue, Bayview Avenue, & its terminal, Seagate, Surf Avenue. The following stations on the (7) & (16) trains after going onto the Gravesend Neck Line include: Bedford Avenue, East 16th Street, Ocean Parkway, McDonald Avenue, West 9th Street, Benson Avenue, Haraway Avenue, Bay 46th Street, Belt Parkway, & Coney Island, Neptune Avenue being the terminal for the (7) train. The (7) train would also run express for part of the Gravesend Neck Line while the (16) train runs local until the (7) & (16) separate. The following express stations include: East 16th Street, McDonald Avenue, & Haraway Avenue. The Following local stations include: Bedford Avenue, Ocean Parkway, West 9th Street, & Benson Avenue.

I think the (B) should be extended to Throgs Neck-Schurz Avenue & the (D) to Throgs Neck Bridge-Pennyfield Avenue. The (8) should run to Parkchester, & the (11) would run to Eastchester Bay-Hollywood Avenue. The (12) would run to Hunts Point Market-Food Center Drive, & the (13) would run to Edenwald-Strang Avenue.

The BMT Second Avenue Line should be completely redesigned, as a lower level should be added running under the existing tunnel, until it branches off into The Bronx just after going under the IND 125th Street Line. The new stations on the lower level would serve express service stopping at 125th Street, 96th Street, 72nd Street, 42nd Street, 14th Street, Grand Street, Hanover Square, & South Ferry. Local stations include 116th Street, 110th Street, 103rd Street, 86th Street, 79th Street, 59th Street, 51st Street, 34th Street, 28th Street, 23rd Street, Saint Marks Place, Houston Street, Chatham Square-Worth Street, Brooklyn Bridge-Frankfort Street, & Maiden Lane.

I think the (C) train should not only be extended to Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard, but it should also be extended to Freeport-Mill Road. The (C) would continue past Lefferts Boulevard, & stop at 126th Street, 132nd Street, Princeton Street, Tuckerton Street, 105th Avenue, 109th Avenue, Linden Boulevard, Roy Wilkins Park-Foch Boulevard, Baisley Boulevard, Farmers Boulevard, Springfield Boulevard, 224th Street, Francis Lewis Boulevard, Hook Creek Boulevard, Liberty Boulevard-Arlington Park, Clearstream Avenue, Benedict Avenue, Fletcher Avenue, Emerson Place, Marshall Avenue, Blake Avenue, Lynbrook Avenue, Sunrise Highway, Marion Place, Cumberland Street, Charing Cross Road, Rockwood Avenue, Milburn Avenue, Elm Place, South Main Street, & finally its terminal, Freeport-Mill Road. The elevated structure would get rebuilt into a four-track line continuing the existing tracks at Euclid Avenue, with the (A) skipping Grant Avenue, 80th Street, & 88th Street. The Rockaway Boulevard station would be express, serving the (A), (C), & (K) trains. The extension of the line past Lefferts Boulevard would eventually turn right onto Merrick Boulevard, merging with the (E) & (J) trains. The (E) & (J) trains would surface above ground just after Jamaica Center just before their merge with the (C) train. The IND Merrick Line would ultimately continue above or nearby the same road until its terminal. The (E) would separate just before Blake Avenue, & the (J) would separate just before Sunrise Highway, while the (C) & (J) trains would also have their own separate platforms in a unique station, with the (J) turning onto Lincoln Avenue just after. After separating from the IND Merrick Line, the (E) would turn onto Peninsula Boulevard, stopping at Hempstead Avenue, Tanglewood Road, Lakeview Avenue, Dorchester Road, Andover Road, Allen Road, & finally its terminal Stratford-Southern State Parkway. After the (J) separates from the IND Merrick Line, turning onto the IND Island Park Line running above Lincoln Avenue, continuing onto Long Beach Boulevard, stopping at Sunrise Highway, Reid Avenue, Foxhurst Road, Fairview Avenue, Windsor Parkway, Waukena Avenue, Daly Boulevard, Florida Avenue, Marina Road, Sagamore Road, & finally its terminal Island Park-Austin Boulevard. There would also be a shuttle train connecting with the IND Island Park Line, continuing onto Island Parkway, stopping at Marina Road, Quebec Road, Washington Avenue, & terminating at Harbor Isle-Franklin Avenue. The (K) train would run alone on the IND Utopia Line, turning left onto 168th Street just after separating from the (C) train, then turn right onto Union Turnpike, & another left onto Utopia Parkway until finally terminating. The (K) would stop at Jamaica Avenue, Highland Avenue, Grand Central Parkway, 169th Street, 76th Avenue, 68th Avenue, Long Island Expressway-59th Avenue, 50th Avenue, 47th Avenue, Northern Boulevard, Crocheron Avenue, Francis Lewis Boulevard, 24th Avenue, 19th Avenue, & finally its terminal Bay Terrace-Willets Point Boulevard.
