Hey Tim how are you mate? Do you know anything about the Omni Navitor? More specifically the sensitivity of the vario compared to XC tracer mini? As the Omni is 700€ and the XC tracer 500€ Thanks in advance.
Sorry, can't help with that one I'm afraid, I've not had a play with the Naviter Omni. The XCTracer Mini V obviously doesn't have a screen (it's solar powered) so you'll need to link it to a phone running Flyskyhy or XCTrack etc, but it's a great instrument. (NB. I sell XCTracers in the UK)
Philippe Sebastian Balsam I’ll ask the guy I bought I from years and years ago (he’s since moved to Montenegro) although I think it’s unlikely he’ll remember... sadly I lost mine on a Swiss mountainside three or four years ago 😭
Apologies for the late reply Tiago... I personally haven't used XCTrack as I use Flyskyhy on my iPhone, however XCTrack does seem to be the most popular option for Android phones, although some people prefer XCSoar. Both work well with XC Tracers. As for the best device, that's a big subject but most people use their phone.
@@hanumandorje584 Yes, sadly you’re right. I think I’d be tempted to open the Compass app on my iPhone and use that if I ever needed a really clear compass
Deepak M Hi Deepk, it's what comes with the Advance Impress 3 (and is more or less what comes with the Lightness 2 as well). It has Velcro front and back which is how it it fastens to the harness.
Hi Phillipe, I'm a bit biased because I sell XCTracer varios in the UK, but what I like about them is that you can customise the tones to pretty much whatever you want... Hi Tim, could you give me a hint where I find such nice compass shown on the left of your cockpit? Thanks!

@@TimPentreath Cheers Tim, didn't t expect you to have such work. I ll find one and send you the link then :)
hi tim, you might find a suitable compass in nautical stores: www.nauticstore24.at/silva-kompass-mod-85-20980.htm
@@philippesebastianbalsam2302 A bit too big I think... (85mm diameter)
Good review. Have you tried XC Tracer with XC Track? Is that the best app for XcTracer? If so, what would be the best device, a smartphone or E-ink?

Air3 7.2 is a tablet and performs better than flymaster
slightly off topic, but could you give us the make of the magnetic compass, please?
Sorry Matteo, I have no idea - I bought it years ago and I last it last year in Switzerland :-(
sorry! i think we all have offered trinkets to the mountain gods ;)
True!
That compass looks awesome, could you share where you got it please?
Please see my not very helpful reply to Matteo below (or above maybe)... sorry!
@@TimPentreath I see!! Its a difficult topic, been looking for a tiny quality compass and its non existing. Thank you very much!

Nice dude. may i know what is the name of the holder you use to attach all the instruments?

is the Solario really set to the fastest respond time?
I honestly don't know, I made this video a long time ago and I haven't got the Solario any more...
have you paired the iPhone with the XCTracer?
Yes, it's super-easy and works well
