What is the vinyl placed on when it goes through the cricket. The white background? Is that parchment paper?
how did you "frost" the back of the acrylic?
I always have trouble with the vinyl sticking to the transfer tape. I usually use cricut materials, but I notice u had no issues at all. Do you think its your transfer tape, or do I just suck at this...lol
Probably because you are using Cricut materials! Most of mine are off brand (linked in description). Will make your life so much easier!

Can you spray a sealant over the viyln to prevent scratches and to keep it long lasting?
And I saw someone on another video say you can reuse transfer tape?
Hi Melissa! The vinyl is permanent so sealing is not needed and may mess up the finish. You can reuse transfer tape! I sometimes use the same piece for smaller decals

I know this was posted a long time ago but I'm hoping you see my question. Isn't oracal 651 permanent? Wouldn't it be easier to remove 631? I put 651 on a whiteboard for another project and I cannot get it off. I'm worried that would happen with this. Thanks so much! Awesome tutorial!

but I like using the stronger type since these rentals get beat up sometime!

Can you make acrylic signs with removable vinyl or does it have to be permanent?
You can definitely use removable vinyl! There are lower grade Oracal vinyls as well if you want something with less tackiness

Hi! I'd check your local specialty vinyl and craft store companies if you have any. There is one near me that is a scrapbook store, but they sell Oracal 651 by the inch, in all colors! Fingers crossed 🤞

Not at all! Its from my local plastics store. Google "plastic fabrication company near me" and hopefully some will pop up!
I tried to do this on a smaller scale and my letters got stuck. Would you say it’s easier to do w/ larger letters? Is there any work around for this?
The smaller the vinyl cuts the harder to weed so will size the acrylic to the amount of details needed...especially smaller signs with lots of details like bar signs. Hope that makes sense!
Can you peel the letters off if you want to re-use the acrylic boards for future projects?
Yes! This is exactly what I do for my local rental business

Hey Carly! Thank you so much for the awesome video! My wife and I were following along, but we ran in to some problems! Do you ever worry about the segments that you are splitting up still not fitting? I think after staring at it for an hour we realized that when we tried to split (@3:55), the two segment dimensions still weren't able to fit in the single sheet 11.5in x 23.5in fit.
Hi Steve! I just size the names or individual cuts down to fit on the sheet and piece them together on the sign. Hope that helps!

You can buy pre frosted acrylic from companies online depending on where you live 😊
My local plastics store has all types of color and sizing options, including frosted!
Do you put the vinyl on the smooth side or the frosted side of the acrylic?
The vinyl is on the shiny/non-frosted side. You can do either though!
Can I do this with a cricut joy?
I guess a smaller sign would be possible with a Joy

I like the premium outdoor vinyl setting!

Yes, you can! You may just need to size it down a bit and possibly more cuts than 2 :)

Same concept, just a much better grip and you dont have to touch the blades to replace them :)

Mine is plugged into my desktop! I believe you cannot via Bluetooth if needed
