- White Manna and White Mana are the names of two fast food diners in the U.S. state of New Jersey, named after manna, the Biblical food. They were originally opened by Louis Bridges, who purchased the original diner that was introduced in the 1939 New York World's Fair in Flushing Meadows Park, Queens. Both buildings were manufactured by Paramount Diners of Oakland, New Jersey in the late-1930s.Bridges owned five diners, all named "White Manna"....The Hackensack White Manna Diner is a fast food restaurant located at 358 River Street. The diner has been at the site since 1946, and it is on the banks of the Hackensack River... When originally introduced, it was called the "diner of the future" and an "Introduction to Fast Food. According to the present owner,, the reason for the difference in spelling was a result of an error when the sign was serviced. It is famous for its hamburgers and sells approximately 5,000 a week
I worked for Ronnie back in 2009. I had a psychotic episode when I almost killed myself and Ronnie had found out about it. He actually came to the hospital where I was at during visiting hours and brought me candy and everything and said whenever I get out if I wanted to come back to work but if not, he understood. I didn’t come back because I ended up going back home to another state to be with family. But Ronnie was an amazing boss and owner, he is exceptionally kind and generous and over 10 years later, I still remember that gesture because no one came to visit me EXCEPT him.
That's a good boss for his employees are his family not just somebody that works for him I hope you're doing better both emotionally and mentally sending you blessings and prayers

Sounds like an A-plus guy. When my mother died in May of 2018, our pizza folks came to her wake. Fast-forward to December of that year when the owners' mother died, and we returned the favor.
Ronnie is still the owner. His son is one of my best friends. Nicest guy ever and great place!

Absolutely fantastic place. I got clowned by Ronnie because I was clearly high, ordered 10 and he said I should make it 15. That shit had me dying. Great burgers too and I cleared them in about 30 minutes 🤣🤣🤣
My sister & I were there for the 1st time. The Staff was so cordial, cheeseburgers delicious & it was indeed a fun experience. Posted pics on FB. We were so "tourist-y"...lol and only live 10 minutes away!

this place is like 5 mins away from my school and their burgers are so incredibly amazing, there is a fast food restaurant almost in front of this place, but this place is packed any time of the day or night, love them

hosted a few international students in high school and was friends with a bunch of international students in college-brought em here and rutts hut especially during thanksgiving in college. whenever they visit we go here and rutts hut. better than any chain fast food joint.
They are much more filling than White Castle. First time I'd suggest ordering half as many as you normally do at White Castle.
The guy at the counter is trying to say he eats his burger dainty, but he can't quite get the words out because he just pile shoved about 3 burgers in his mouth and hasn't chewed them up yet, lol

10/3/24 we were around the area and my buddy suggested the place. As cramp as it is inside, the place is actually very quiet and cozy. Everyone there was respectful and quiet. Food comes out very quick and the guy just doesn’t stop. Kept going and going. There’s always Patties, onions, buns and cheese on the grill. Never ends.

There are two White Manna's in NJ, this one and the one in Jersey City. They are not owned by the same people. I have had both and this Hackensack location is my favorite.
They are not trying to be like white castle, white castle uses frozen beef that is steamed on a grill, with dehydrated onions and 1 piclke slice, this guy uses fresh beef and onions that are grilled and not steamed
White Castle runs the game. Besides In n Out

my mom took me there for the first time the other day, she went there all the time in the mid-late 70's as a kid, and han she brought me there, i had 2 doubles w/ cheese, a fries, a white milkshake, and a diet coke! all in like 5 minutes, one of the best things about this place besides the food quality, is the time it takes to get to you, you say 2 doubles, the grab the meat throw it on, and a minute later, its in your stomach!

Went there for the first time last April and the place is crazy! Line wasn’t long at that point but it was crowded inside. Ordering’s kinda strange: you order your burgers, drink and fries from 3 diff people but after your 1st time, you get it down.

where i live, in indiana, we have a place called Powers Hamburgers. Made just the same way, but it opened in the 1930s. 6 dbl chz burgers and life is good!

There are 2 separate places & not affiliated with each other , one is spelled white mana with 1 "n" , this one is spelled white white manna with 2 " n's ", you want to go to this one as the food is better
i have got to get to the East coast , check it out , its not cheap u know , its a long way , but i wanna see Hells kitchen and Brooklyn , Jersey , Coney Island :D

Each time I'm in Hackensack I have to stop in and get some burgers. I like how they are made right in front of you which makes it a great experience knowing your getting fresh burgers. I usually get 3 and that is good enough for me. But great little place and if you're ever in NJ, try and head over to Hackensack to give these burgers a try.

White Manna rules due to the suppliers and workers! Meat comes from a local butcher. Onions from local farmers during season. Lastly bread from the local bakery!

Beef is from many places, mostly from OK and Nebraska
Man I'm from Chattanooga Tennessee .I would love to go there and get them burgers. with my best friend i wish he was still alive. And we can go up to Jersey and get some they look like they taste awesome. is this place still around though? Because I know covid-19 is hurt a lot of little businesses like this

did they increase the amount of meat? i watched a video from 2 years ago and they use pucks that look like more meat than this.
this looks like 1/10th pound, other ones look like 1/6th pound.
It's compared to small White Castle burger, but definitely more meat
i visited my relatives in jersey for a day and realized that this place was 5 min away. went there at 10pm with my cousin and it was closed. i almost cried...so we went to white castle and got the crave case T.T

Went there all the time in the early 70's, best burgers in the area, when I worked in S. Hackensack ... then the company moved to New England .. so it was move or look for a job. I moved.

I remember when this guy took it over in the 1980s, the previous owner used to come in and get a sack of burgers to go. The fact that there's a McDonald's right across the street doesn't seem to hurt their business at all.

I like mustard better than ketchup, these would be like el Reno Oklahoma onion burgers/ sliders with cheese, mustard, heavy on the onions & Pickles, 5 to 10 double burgers for me depending on my appetite, minimum of 5
I will come up from Florida and I ALWAYS stop in here. There is something about the place which can not be copied. I amake no aplogies for it. These burgers are the best sliders I have ever eaten. If you disagree, then you just don't get it!
