Agreed, can take a lot of time, thats why i never edit, buy extra equipment or anything. Just film on my phone, give my thoughts and upload nothing additional. Never once studied youtube algorithm. I don't bother with fancy thumbnails as i didn't see an increase in viewers. I think title has more to do with it.
Just want to say i would always check out your channel when I first started this hobby a few years ago and I'm still here. I don't always watch your content but I do really appreciate all the hard work that goes into making it so thank you Mr X.

I can’t say I watch UA-cam much, but definitely make sure to tune in to watch you! I love your tenacity, and believe it or not I didn’t think you’re charming personality would be something I would actually enjoy! It’s crazy, as far as you work ethic, it seems like we’re kindred spirits. I often hear from people how can you (me) get so much accomplished and my response to them is there’s 24 hours in the day!

Great video and you nailed all the reasons! Yes, Sir I have a channel, but havent uploaded a video in months. Lots of reasons, but mainly, I recently secured a new job which takes up most of my time. It was alot of fun though and I hope to get back to making videos soon.
Love this channel man,hope you don't quit! I've never done UA-cam videos but I have to listen to my calls at work for quality feedback and I HATE the way I sound so I'd turn my own videos off seconds into editing lol

I think it’s very good and thoughtful of you to make this video. I am a collector of all things Alien/Aliens and some AVP. I’ve been collecting for a number of years. Some statues, maquettes, action figures etc. So now I’m trying to make a channel about all things Aliens. I also cover some Aliens games. The points you raise are very good and I think can also be applied to streaming on Twitch. I mostly stream Aliens games, but streaming with no viewers is not fin. Your channel and collection are wonderful. Thank you.

I've been grinding away for just over 2 years. My channel has just recently passed the 400 sub mark. I do upload a toy hunt every Sat. and will spotlight action figures, Hot Toys and whatever else I buy. As long as it's still fun I'll continue to keep at it.
I rarely comment on any video, but just wanted to say I appreciate your dedication to the channel. You're very down to Earth and I really enjoy the content you provide.

I've definitely noticed quite a few channels, in the statue community especially, just stop making new videos.

Always find the time to watch your videos, always funny always honest and at a best when a bottle of wine is involved, in all honesty I also watch the batman collector and gem mint but some I don't due to it seems more a way of showing off what they can afford and what the little man can't, it'll be a sad day when you eventually stop but till then I'm always happy to hear you're wonderfully sarcastic and honest reviews .

Don’t give up, love watching your videos mainly because you’re funny. Other people in the same niche are cool but not the same. If you keep getting time, please keep making videos. Also, surely you don’t care about the haters lol, I thought you always made videos making fun of them cause you didn’t care. This will probably just give them more power
Good points and great topic! 😎👍🏾 Especially on the collectibles videos. I have been uploading really short mini reviews of statues and collectibles for over 7 years now and since its fun and I like sharing I probably won’t quit but I have less than 400 subscribers and I can see how that would discourage someone who wanted a big viewership.

A lot of video content every week provided and considering it’s a hobby kudos for the effort.
I like the channel because id love to own the statues but £ and space and family commitments win out so it’s nice to see these statues on a video up close.

I used to upload Assassin's Creed collectible vids back in the day but a real life job opportunity presented itself with a way better bottomline. They were some fun times and stressful at the same time for sure. Great channel dude 👊
You have interesting content and honest reviews which is what I appreciate. Just wish you would get better lighting and mix up your location a little more. But I understand how long that would take to accomplish.

It makes alot of sense these are reasons why. When you look at the big names at youtube, you can see they have big companies managing them behind the scenes (Mr. Beast for example) who help offset the time to put into the channel and get them popular. Thank you for keeping up with these videos!

I have never uploaded a video of myself as such but of me racing when I used to compete in motorsport. Never really had any of them pick up but I just done it to display lap times and racing lines.
I find it crazy how different channels grow in subscribers for similar content.
Yup I have, on this account. Post mostly daily have tried a few niche's. Algorithm will always have problems, but UA-cam at the end of the day wants you to succeed. I find that Tik Tok's algorithm is currently better at find users the niche's they enjoy most. Great video like usual :)

i just started my own statue collecting/review channel. I wish i kne whow to edit so i could include flashy edits and sounds and graphics. but your channel was a part in my decision to even start.

I suspect having swear words and sexual innuendos play a part in the YT algorithm as well (like it does with demonetization). As an adult, it doesn't bother me at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if YT marks it as "mature" in the backend or something. Anyways, some other video ideas you could consider would be going over your collection inventory system (like for insurance). For example, do you include paid price or current market price, receipts, images, etc. Another idea would be running YT as a business (for tax reasons) that you may have learned. For example, what can be considered a tax write off and what can't, etc. Good video as always though!

Its one of those things where the more you put in, the more you get out, plus the element of natural ability to be entertaining. You could have the best camera, lighting and even content, but if you're boring, with today's attention span, you will still fail. You, sir, are entertaining.

Yeah it's a drag doing UA-cam. I do it purely out of the love of discussing statues and sharing my opinions and said statues. I'm super active on forums, and wanted to extend the discussion on here too. Editing takes me several hours purely since I want to be unique, well worth it.
G4’s Attack of the Show was huge for fans and gamers. Kinda wish anyone’s youtube ch could.. with cheesy graphics and effects a la Hawk The Slayer. The topic(s) have to be interesting. And yes, production is expensive. Viewers have to have or make time to stream. Tough for me now, I work full-time. Vloggers would have to be more selective on what in their vid posts or less eps per season / year. I enjoy watching your vids X. Thanks for sharing!
I work in the film industry and yes setting up camera, lights, sounds and then edit and add gfx yeah it’s tiresome and takes time to edit and upload and sometimes the views ain’t worth it
Mr X, tip for the algorithm INSERT TITLES WITH CAPS TO MAKE FOOLS NOTICE, thumb nail with half naked woman watch those views skyrocket. In all seriousness though, it amazes me how your channel, Gem mint, and some other primarily statue related content can be successful on YT. If you were just talking about random shit or uploading twitch or tiktok vids i would expect life to be much easier as a content creator. In the statue game you also have to constantly buy the statues to keep up. It would definitely be really hard to start a channel without tons of $ or a very large collection to feed the content. I have noticed that UA-cam channels featuring scantly-clad, attractive, voluptuous women doing ordinary chores, such as cooking, gardening, etc. do really well on UA-cam. Unfortunately, I am a somewhat overweight man in my later years who collects comic books and related crap, so my channel will never be popular. Luckily, I couldn't give a shiite!

I’ve been watching many statue collectors like you mr.X, Gem, Batman Stt Collector,… I really appreciate all the efforts. The road isn’t easy to ride on and u guys put the amount of time to make contents for us viewers to enjoy. Once again thank you for the efforts u put in.

I guess I didn't realize how thankless of a job this could be as I'm not an original content creator myself. I want you to know that I really appreciate all the content you provide and I always try to stay up to date with everything you release. Keep up the great work! I love the statue reviews, when you include your family in content and your ranking videos on various topics. Have you ever ranked the statue line collections within your massive collection? Ranked your all time favorite statues? Or ranked what you think are some of your best videos you've put out? Maybe a ranking on other collectible/statue collector's content? Even some more crossover videos with Gem Mint or other content creators would be cool.

Personally, I enjoy channels that put out high quality content once per week. It gives me time to delve into different channels and also enjoy different things. I feel like UA-cam rewards content creators for daily content, but for me the viewer, it feels overwhelming.

I most definitely feel your pain about editing. It can be a nightmare, especially when you finish and realize you've screwed something up.
Sometimes it's irreversible too. You have to decide, start from scratch or let it ride.

I think the grind is what most youtuber complain about. Then constant need to put out content. Although there are exceptions. They are far a few between. It is how youtube is build.
No uploads (yet)...I think the inclusion of your family into the videos took you to another level (Same for GemMint) makes the content more personal , genuine & separates from those channels with that "home shopping feel"👊
I started my channel a few years ago with no real financial expectations. Just wanted to share with the community. I've definitely slowed down with content and collecting because it's definitely time and money consuming, and I've honestly just lost a lot of interest in the content part of collecting.
You’re one of my favorite UA-cam channels/personalities and my favorite statue channel. I did think about creating a UA-cam channel centered on my learning journey. I could’ve possibly made videos teaching people how to do very basic to very high-level math. However, I thought of it when I was way too advanced in my journey. My channel would’ve been pretty much centered on being an example for people not to give up on themselves or their dreams, but it didn’t work out. Not to mention, the video I made for someone that was having trouble with math was horrible because it seems like I’m rambling throughout the whole video with scribbled notes everywhere which is made worse because I stutter throughout the whole entire thing. (I look like a nut job.) Nobody wants to see a guy stuttering through his videos. On the other hand, that probably would make them hilarious, so who knows. Your effort and your dedication don’t go unnoticed. I think that I can speak for most of your viewers and subscribers when I say that we appreciate you and your content. Thank you very much.
My first videos were REALLY rough
I have a small UA-cam channel with only about 25 fishing videos and about 175 subscribers. I do it just for fun but I have been unexpectedly stopped by people at the store on 2 occasions when they recognized me. It did sorta creep me out a bit.

Never created a content video. I have upload stuff to youtube, but a lot of it got copyright infringement so I stopped. Miss the days when this wasn't a business, but just a fun place to share cool tv episodes and discuss with others.

I think the main issue is the people who actually enjoy this stuff. Main reason is how expensive 1 statue cost. I think you should explore catchy short reels. Some people tend to stop watching if the content is long. I enjoy watching your videos though!
yes, I am a content creator. I normally cover EDH decks (Magic the Gathering), Omnibuses (comic trades), stuff that feeds my nerdie side, and recently started live streaming off my PS4. Its fustrating not seeing growth like other channels that have started after you. It feels like your banging your head on the wall, but for me I want to keep trying. My goal is simple, rather its thru sponsership or channel its self I would like the hobby to pay for itself.
Also, I made a couple unboxing videos of some figures and statues like 5+ ish years ago but deleted them because I was scared a classmate would find them and make fun of me lmao
Most of my students want to be youtubers thinking that it is an easy way to success. They don't realise the amount of effort and time it takes for any kind of production. Keep up the good work because your channel is awesome. P.s never made my own video. (I am not video material lol)
My favorite channels happen to be the ones that don't really make anything from the channel, they just like to share their passions. Not to mention YT screwing content creators at every opportunity and their censorship. If I had a channel, I would just weed out the assholes and block them. No one has time for that.
My channel was feeling like a grind when I was treating it as more than a hobby. I've found that my growth has been much more significant and the act of uploading regularly much more fun since I focused on keeping it a simple hobby. I've also leaned into shorts since I enjoy making those and they are much less time consuming than long form content.

@@TheXtremeChannelMrX my first channel, BaphomArt (satanic Bob Ross style art channel) went for about 8 months before I found it boring (which I feel a little bad about because folks really seemed to enjoy it).
Took a stab into gaming with a different channel and that lasted only a couple of months.
Started Office Arcade almost 1.5 years ago. Started to become a slog a few months on before shorts dropped (and my wife convinced me to join tiktok) and I went full hobby with it and mostly short form content. Having a ball now and the time investment is MUCH more reasonable.
So total I’ve been doing it on and off for like 5/6 years, and during those years I was active for almost 3 of them.
How is this channel not the top statue Channel ? Keep it up man. Always UP 🥒
Not a UA-camr, and never will be one. I just don’t have the time, inclination, desire, nor content, to justify a UA-cam channel. Having said that, I do have a statue collection. It’s not huge, but it’s pretty well displayed. I have not made a video of it just yet. But when I do, instead of making a video under my name, I will submit it to Chris, The Batman Statue Collector (which I already inquired him about it), as he welcomes other peoples’ collections. No, it’s not Batman-related, but he says it’s cool, any character lines are okay as long as it meets certain criteria/rules, which I believe mine does. It’s down the road though, no hurry. Great subject matter, Mr X.

I literally only started doing UA-cam because I saw how easy you made it. I just use it to keep my sanity because I own a few businesses where I deal with people on a daily and it’s just a short escape. I have 228 subscribers and I’m very grateful for even that much outreach. Had a few aggressive comments but then I realize those people are such peasants I could crush them in my 3rd wallet lmfao.
I just went back and watched the video about how much revenue the videos make and I can't understand this at all. I don't know how UA-cam incentivises people to keep creating

I can relate, my tiktok channel went ok well and I have several videos with over 100k and now I can only get 100 who watch it...
I only post stuff when I’m able. Since I do all my photography and videos outside it limits when I can do stuff. I did 1 video in the last 3 months because that’s all the time I had, plus I ain’t going outside in the winter unless I have something new and I really want to brave the cold and do a video.
I’m glad I don’t really care about views, I just use UA-cam to upload my videos so I don’t have to store them in my phone, and maybe other people can enjoy them.
Yup, I have posted youtube videos.. but havnt in a while, life got in the way..i.have 8 kids all between ages 2 to 14... so its hard to have time..that plus starting a new business from the ground up...

I for one never did a utub video and because of the time invested in it don't need to. Of course that doesn't mean I'll never do one. Perhaps when I am retired and have more free time. Obviously there has to be some kind of financial gain or why would anyone even bother. I enjoy viewing your videos just because I am a statue collector. I don't care about winning any statue you keep promising to give away. I am not a member of your channel or any other because I don't make that much money to invest into it. In fact I don't have enough money to buy some statues that I really would like to own. So I watch shows like yours just to see the unboxing and review of statues that I will never get. So even though I am not a member I still appreciate you for takeing the time and effort for sharing these contents with us. I’m commenting as I watch because I’m thinking of things (which are probably all bs) but you shouldn’t feel forced to pump out videos and just release them when you get time or get something new. If you feel like you HAVE to make thousands of videos, you’ll probably get stressed out and treat it like a job, which is what it sounds like you’re doing

I've not uploaded a video to UA-cam, and I think that will likely remind the case for me. My mine reason for that decision is that I do not feel I've got anything to share that will be beneficial or worth someone's time. I fully respect content creators and wish that others would show a bit more appreciation & consideration for the free entertainment you provide. Honestly, it's not hard to watch and like a video, commenting requires a little more effort but not that much. I personally treat UA-cam like old school cable TV, there's a ton to watch, so click around find what u like and keep up with it. I hope your subscriber count keeps going up, wishing u the best 🪄🥳
