I have been using a Hawk platform for 3 years. Never had a problem with it. I took a grinder to edges to give it some teeth similar to the Tetherd. I tried paracord around the edges but it wasn't as grippy as I wanted. The grinder did a much better job.
It’s a great budget saddle, after we tried the xop and predator it’s a noticeable difference. We have looked into using the spray can bed liner for grip on the hawk platform.

The boys at Tethrd invented these platforms...everyone else copied Tethrd while making shape changes that mean nothing...Tethrd rules!

I own both the hawk and the xop, personally I would rather deal with the extra weight. It feels very solid and has great traction.
We can agree on that statement. Probably the most solid feeling platform between the three we looked at.
