this was perhaps the best scene in one piece. not only the beauty of the scene, but the animators did a very good job of portraying the events. I've been following this series from the manga for 20 years. I always read the manga first. That's why most scenes in the anime don't satisfy me. But this scene....
this is probably the first time luffy has been genuinely shocked, like usually you would hear something like "EHHHHHHHH?" when something surprising happens but luffy straight up was shocked and terrified

The admirals weren't really trying tho, this was just supposed to be a cool moment. The powerscaling is pretty fluid in One Piece which is annoying at times because it makes no sense, but gives Oda more freedom and less explaining to do.

That fruit was already OP from the start there was simply no need for an awakening. And a paramaecia's awakening allows user to affect things other than their own body but whitebeard was already shaking the earth. But maybe his awakening could've been different. Still it's stated by kaido that awakening happens when mind and body are able to keep up with the DF. So there's a possibility that WB's fruit was awakened. But I really don't think that BB would be able to awake that fruit.
This is why whitebeard will remain my favorite OP character. Dude is just so powerful and we never see WB true power cuz he doesnt want his crew getting in the crossfire. Imagine seeing him full power and not holding back
