Daytona Beach, Florida | What Happened?

Driving through Daytona Beach, Florida worst neighborhoods. Even though the beautiful beaches are right around the corner, would you live here? With a crime rate more than twice the national average, you may want to rethink that after looking at this. Poverty is also a major issue in this city, I really hope one day it turns around for the best.

3:46 on the left used to be a bodyshop where i learned to paint. madison ave. was my stomping grounds for many years throughout the 90s. we had some righteous people that lived from the tracks to ridgewood and we totally ran the riff-raff out of there. but it didn't take long after us all moving away for it to all go back down the crapper. i left daytona in 2002 and the whole area was pretty unsafe to wander around after dark. but i think the biggest downfall of that hood was when 7-11 left and that became a "j" store on the corner of north n ridgewood.

DB has nearly a 30% poverty level but only a 3% unemployment rate. That’s because they only count you as unemployed if you were actively seeking employment in the previous 4 weeks. There are a record number of open jobs in FL right now. This all doesn’t jibe.

I lived @ North and Beach for a long time in the 90s back when the Outlaws clubhouse was around the corner. I used North to get to work every day. Honestly, it doesn’t look that much different.

And I will say that it doesn't matter how much money you have, it's how you take care of your things. And if you have pride in where you live. The dollar tree carries fake flowers that take zero effort to maintain and it will enhance your home- just saying
