- Today I painted an easy autumn lake scenery. I hope you like this step by step watecrolor painting tutorial.
Apart from wetting the paper, I only used one brush for this painting! It is the round brush in size 8 from Silver brush, here is the amazon link to shop:

I HIGHLY recommend you to get this. What I love about this brush shape is that I can make thick strokes and for very fine details I just need to tilt my brush and use the very fine tip. I would definitely buy this brush set again.
My paper is Arches 300 lb, rough.

I'll try it however, I've not been painting for at least 2 years, due to my back & vertebrae condition, and I miss it!

practice is key. Paint the same picture 10 days in a row. Keep it simple and focus only on a few aspects at a time. Try it and you´ll see rapid progress.

I tried it. But how did you cover the black brenches with the leaves color? Totally didn't cover for me, rather smudged. For the leaves I recommend using gouache!
I agree. Regular watercolor won’t cover as good as he did in the video. It was probably gauche or other opaque color. painted with watercolors for years and agree you you
Will this work without tape? To get that horizon line straight.
Great video. I'm sure the brush is nice, but I stick to a 'cruelty free' rule and that also includes my brushes. I use Princeton and it works great for what I do.
How did you get the yellow so pigmented that it covered the branches? Did you use a different kind of paint other than watercolor?
I used white watercolor and I also used less water, this gives the watercolor a way more opaque finish! You can always add two three layers.
Witch brand do you use? Its so beautyfull and looks so diffrent then my collors

Is it really that much of a difference using cellulose paper? The paint just doesnt go as smooth like at all 😮💨
Cotton is still cellulose. But this is a cold pressed paper. I usually use hot pressed cotton paper which is very smooth. But have to be extra careful as water can run away.

I don't think this is begginer friendly. You would have to have some knowledge and experience before. I am truly begginer and there is no way I could paint this

I love your work but I HATE that the bullshit brushes your pushing in your store ARE NOTHING LIKE THR BRUSH YOU USE FOR THIS. Why?
He gets paid and gets commissions from advertising and sales. This is how it works for many UA-camrs 😀. And I think many people already noticed he uses probably gauche for yellow/ orange to cover that black. Unless he shows the tube or actual paint I don’t believe it’s regular watercolor. Used to paint with watercolors for years

It’s called masking tape. It won’t damage the paper when removed.
