Beautifully done. Simple yet complex is the Model A. I can't believe this was the easiest most efficient way to install a roof on a car back in the day. Mine is a 30 coupe and the nails go right through the trim into the roof. Needless to say I won't be driving it on a rainy day. Yours looks to be water tight.
So you are saying they didn’t nail the vinyl top on first but nailed it at same time as with the trim? This way wasn’t at all intended to show what they did from the factory. But an attempt to give us a fighting chance that the roof won’t leak when I wash it or go out on a rainy day. Always good to hear from you Mr Roberts!

What is best to use to treat the vinyl on the top, for regular maintenance?
That is a good question. I have heard many different answers for that. I confess I haven’t the foggiest. Keeping it free of dirt is probably the best way to prevent decay.

I have had good success wiping and treating vinyl, rubber and plastic using 303 Protectant. It seems especially effective protecting against the intense Georgia sun and heat. 🇺🇸
