Agreed! It was on par with The Last of Us. I really liked the mature storytelling aspects, multi-layered characters, and fantastic gameplay. The surprising moments were awesome and scary at the same time.

Out of all the PS exclusives, Days Gone was my favorite. Absolutely hit home for me.
A somewhat underrated game for sure. Some players didn't give it a chance or let it pick up and see what its really about. The horde gameplay was heart POUNDING I tell u..I didn't know or expect to feel that even tho a pack of flesh eating zombies can be scary in an unknown, but known, world!
I blame it being underrated on the horrible gaming journalists that gave this game mid scores and gave a game like Deathloop 10/10. Shit’s all backwards.

@@SagaciousNihilist all the games have such problems, we can recall tons of them, nevertheless, such a massive and amazing game must have been praised but not hated, shame on journalists and some people who did it, Days Gone is not just an amazing game, developers did many innovations, especially the horde evolution, where every enemy is a potential threat for a character, nobody has done it before and Bend Studio told they would have done it and they indeed did it, so whatever project they work on, i dont have doubts it will be more revolutionary than Days Gone. Speaking about my impressions about Days Gone, then it is one of my favourite games on PS4

The game was rocky at launch. But it came into its own and was a wonderful game. Loved it.
And I’d love to see a Days Gone IP take full advantage of PS5 💪🏼
It needed slightly better pacing and perhaps a tad more variety, the sections exploring some of the buildings with Sarah was a highlight. But I finished it and enjoyed it.

Man, if this game really doesn't ever get a sequel, it'll be one of my biggest gaming disappointments ever. I absolutely loved this game, one of my favorites of not only the generation but of all time.
I was also a big fan of Golden Abyss, I thought it was a great addition to the Uncharted series and the best game on the Vita. Bend is an immensely talented studio and I can't wait to see what they do next, but I'll always be wishing for that Days Gone 2 announcement...

Days gone is one of my all time favourite games, if not my favourite. I lack the words to describe just how much this game means to me and what it makes me feel. Just know you made something truly special. Thank you for putting in all the effort.
This game had become one of my favorite games before finishing it, and it was at this specific point 0:37 once I heard the music, that I realized it's become my favorite story game I've ever played. The music, the atmosphere, the characters with their own histories just make it this unrecognized gem of a game that more need to know about.

I used to play games hardcore all the time as a kid but hadn’t for a few years until I got my hands on days gone, it felt like I was that kid again couldn’t stop playing. Excellent game 10/10.
This game not getting a sequel when we know one was pitched still stings.
Depends what the pitch was about. I have no idea but perhaps they request a budget or provide a timeline of how long it will take and that was just too much? But then there's the fact that in the media these days you don't tend to see a man and a woman in love, especially since the Playstation HQ moved from Japan to the US.
I believe we will get it, just not now, maybe in the latter half of PS5 generation.
We don't know that. But what if Bend pitched the story and was not good enough? So Sony's like maybe redo the story and when its good, lets green lit the sequel for now work on a new IP... But who knows. Hoping for a sequel.

Even though I'm an older guy, I really love this game. The atmosphere, music, environment and gameplay is TOP for me. I love playing it also on PS5. This game was a beautiful revelation to me...I want the second part so much!
This game had me totally immersed within the universe and character of Deacon St. John.
The music and theme hauntingly beautiful, the story amazing, the world beautiful and dangerous. I loved every second of it! It was my very first PS4 platinum!
Whatever your direction is next Bend Studios, whether 4 or 6 years down the line, please don't forget Deacon and the continuation of his story, we fans love you all!!
Deacon St. John is one of the best characters in the video game world. his story cannot end like this

DAYS GONE this is one of those games that mark generations, with a story and captivating characters is a game that definitely deserves a sequel, I've finished the game so many times that I've lost count and still it doesn't stop playing it. Thanks to everyone who created this work of art.

I loved the story for this game. And the hoard aspect was one of the best and more unique enemy experiences I've had as well. I also want to give a shout-out to Sam Whitworth for really making Deacon feel like a real person. Not perfect, not a full super hero, just a man in love with his wife.
Please make a sequel to this!! I personally would love to see how hoards would act in a more urban setting possibly.

One of the best games I have ever played. I am beyond happy it arrived on Steam. Being able to play this gem on ultrawide, high settings and high framerates made the game feel like a blockbuster. The atmosphere, the art direction, the music, the gameplay, the bike, the characters, the voice acting. Everything was beautifully executed. Unfortunately most people who haven't played it, don't know what kind of game it is and assume it's just a generic zombie shooter, when it's so much more. Video game stories very rarely have been able to get my attention, this game managed to hook me. I loved watching every cutscene. There is so much attention to detail. The music is beautiful and not some afterthought. Be it the creepy music you hear when you're around a horde or simple the main theme. Even the main menu coupled with the beautiful music is just 10/10. Hearing it here again just makes me realize how iconic the theme has become for me personally.
One of my personal GOAT games - I rarely play through games twice (or more) but Days Gone had me coming back twice now with *nearly* 100% achievements, and I'll no doubt be coming back again in the future.
This game was pure joy to play. It's so rare to see a game where you can tell the developers actually put care into it and wanted it to be good, rather than just churning something out for a quick cash flip.
Days Gone deserve sequel. One of the most underrated games of PS4
Days Gone on PC is perhaps the best PC game I've played in 2021. And the PC port is masterfully well done. It is just incredibly sad that Days Gone 2 is not currently in development. Whatever you guys are working on next, I know it's going to be great! Hope it will come to PC too. Can't wait and good luck!

This title’s platinum trophy was one of very very few that felt organic and not once like a chore. I was initially hesitant to get into this one because the genre felt saturated and the story was supposedly long, but it really stood apart in a way few games ever do. The story felt engaging throughout, but what stood out for me more was how even later in the game new mechanics and crafting items were still being introduced. The experience as a whole felt like it was made by a team that understood what makes a great game, and delivered on all of those elements. Brilliant piece. Thanks guys.

I didn't expect Days Gone to be as good as it was. Definitely looking forward for a sequel if thats in mind. Would love a larger variety of outfits, weapons, perhaps even cars but that isn't even a criticism, I just can't get enough of how good the game is and the massive potential it has. Very underrated and amazing story!

Played this on the PS5, one of the best games I have ever played in my 30 year gaming career.
My greatest moment in the game was when the story changed zone and “soldier’s eye” started playing. Yelled at my wife to come and look and listen to the awesomeness. Goosebumps during the whole bike ride :)

Same, 2nd playthrough I still got choked up even though I knew it was coming. That song... the scenery... you can literally feel Deacon's excitement and hope tempered by doubt and guilt. Frigging beautiful.
I have just finished the game on Steam just now. The story was just absolutely wholesome with the themes it dealt with. Despite repetitive gameplay design, I really enjoyed this journey and it was the most fun I had in a video game in many, many years. We really need more games like this.
I don't usually play SP games nowadays due to work etc but I found myself drawn into this wonderful world of DG and managed to complete it after 130hrs!!! In all my 40 plus years of gaming, this is right up there with the best!
The reason I had finally purchased a PS4 console was because I wanted to play DAYS GONE, I was not disappointed. I hope to see a sequel or a similar type of game soon.

The story is great. I am 39, but, many times my eyes become wet. This game was like a good book for me. I hope there will be a second part, where will be possibility to heal all the zombies.

Days Gone is a breathtaking experience: The love putten into it and its artistic detail blew me away. Experiencing the first snowfall in the open world, enjoying the music, voice acting and the out of the ordinary characters made Days Gone the one and only game I ever platinumed.

I got the game, but hadn't played for a loong time (terrified of zombies) and finally got into it and omg... I can't stop raving about it, and telling everyone about this beautiful game. It's amazing. It's amazing to have passion for a game again, I haven't felt that since Skyrim.

I’ve never cared for a character as much as I did for Deacon Saint John in the end, the story, the gameplay, the hordes, everything blended in beautifully. You could really feel the tension before taking on a mass of freakers, even the side characters felt so real and believable. I know I’m not alone when I say this, but we really didn’t want to leave the world after we managed to complete everything. Bravo, you’ve created not only a classic, but a genre defining game, a masterpiece.
Every single person who worked on this gem should feel proud, you did what other failed to do for so long, thank you.
I am PlayStation gamer since the PS1. I have played so many exclusives, and Days Gone is without a doubt among the Top 3 games/IPs in that category (together with God of War and Ratchet & Clank). You NEED to make that sequel. Pleeaaaaaase!

Days Gone was unfairly ripped apart by the review sites. It does have a slow start but when it starts to ramp up, it doesn't slow down until the end. Then Bend went on to add so much polish and post-launch DLC.
Not to mention the challenge mode, Holy cow what an amazing addition. One of my friends was in the top 10 on one of the challenges for a while.
It's also a game I bought twice, physical at launch and then a digital copy on sale later on.
Plus it was my first and only PS4 platinum trophy.
Days Gone rules. We need a sequel.
I've only recently played Days Gone and must say it was a fantastic experience. I am a lover of games that tell a great story and hold an emotional element... and this did both. There seemed to be a real maturity to the way the story and characters were developed. St. John played as a three dimensional person, not just a player conduit. While I still hold some hope for a sequel... I look forward to what this studio does next.
This game is so strong. Days Gone hits you hard in the emotions. Bend Studios just made something so epic that cannot be explained in words. The sound design, graphics, story, emotions, dialogues, scenes, environment everything is tailored to perfection. And the soundtracks of this game are INSANELY goosebumps material. Love Days Gone and I wish I get to see a sequel somehow.
That theme, oh man it gets me every time. It will always be one of those pieces that takes me back to one of the best games I've ever played in my 35 years of gaming

Finished the PC port a couple weeks back and playing NG+; I loved watching the gameplay back in 2019 by theRadBrad and now able to play it uncapped and in its raw beauty is just something else; a beautiful experience is an understatement, it's one of my favourite games of all time and thank you so much for making it and for this as well! looking forward to more parts

I’m starting my 10 nth time playing Days Gone. No other game I’ve played even comes close to this. This would make a perfect tv show. Parts of this game will scare the crap out of you, make you bounce out of your chair… even bring tears into your eyes, either from sadness or happiness. Great visuals, landscapes, weapons. This is how military games should be built. Makes COD look like a kiddie game.
Days Gone reinvigorated the definition of RPG game. And as a PC gamer, I'd have lost this gem if not for the fantastic PC port.

Finally replayed this game. I loved it the first time, but somehow loved it even more this time. Even better, my partner watched me play it, as she got hooked pretty early on. And now she’s sad that it’s over, though she fell in love with the story and the characters.
It’s a beautiful story, wonderful characters, plus the game gets my heart pumping the way few games do, specifically when it comes to hordes. My god.
You guys did something special with this, and I’ll so continue to hold out hope we might see a sequel one day.

Days Gone gave me the feeling that I wanted. I really enjoyed the effects that upgrading the weapons and bike had on the game play. Story was so engaging some nights I couldn't stop playing because I wanted to know what will happen after ... And the graphics and environment were fantastic. I really got used to them ... really beautiful North American views.
