Just got myself a beautiful new Masport 470, Such a pleasure to use and to mow with. I'm learning what I can about mower maintenance so I can service it myself when the time comes. How do you go about cleaning/replacing the air filter if it's got one of those metal cage kinda setups surrounding it. do I need to undo the bolts first to be able to access it?
Sounds like a great machine! I made a video response to try to answer your question. I would be a little surprised if you had to remove a metal cage from in front of the air filter, because usually those are in front of the exhaust so you don’t touch a hot exhaust, but there are tons of styles out there! Before removing bolts, I would check out the video I linked below so you can be sure that’s where your air filter is located. I hope the video helps! And happy mowing! ua-cam.com/video/hqzfoN1Vekg/v-deo.htmlsi=xm7ABF6-0tXYOIjO
@@greenhorntenderfoot9261 Upon further investigation i actually realized yes the metal cage is in fact the exhaust not the air filter. it's on the opposite side of the engine and is very easy to remove.
