I appreciate the inclusion of audiobooks putting the ablest notion that they don't count to rest. They should merge some of the non fiction and include graphic novels instead of having 3 non fiction categories...Jess is the best boyfriend but Rory doesn't deserve him hurt my hear but is accurate. The Netlix episodes made an absolute mess of the entire thing though I would kill for an episode where Emily has to use modern tech.
Brandy Sandy - totally agree with you Jess. I don't understand the hype, his books are mid for the length and non-payoff nature of them. Sorry that you gotta read them. I would rather continue the Mad Ship tbh, now that's a brilliant series.
I loved The Stardust Grail and would rec it to Fantasy lovers! (it's spaceships, aliens, queer, heists, battles, ancient planets, and an intergalactic highway that reminds me of the portals in Stargate)
I’ve seen other videos, maybe Elliot Brooks or Petrik I think, talking about how epic fantasy is just not “in” right now. Publishers aren’t as interested in long series and favoring standalone cozy fantasies. I think the Fantasy selection this year certainly confirms that.
I read maybe 3-4 romances a year and I usually rate them 3-3,5 stars, so the fact that I recognized all but two of the nominated one is really funny to me. Not that I read any of them, I've just seen them around 😂
Glorious Exploits is very good! It's a historical fiction novel set during the Peloponnesian War in ~400s B.C. Sicily. It's comped to O, Brother Where Art Thou and Monty Python. I laughed a lot. I also sobbed. It was one of my favorites of the year so far. It won the Debut Fiction Prize at Waterstones
I havent read most of them, so I vote for what I'd most like to see a bunch of booktubers read, trying to aim for diversity when I don't have an option that was already on my radar. I do hope Bury Your Gays does well in horror and Somewhere Beyond the Sea in audiobooks (that narrator was doing the most!)
I posted on Ashleys reveal yesterday that Absolution in the scifi category was published oct 22nd and only had 990 ratings with 3.77 rating as of 19h ago… so the number of ratings, rating, and time of release being so recent… anything is eligible at this point.
I hated Normal people, i kind of liked beautiful world where are you, but had problems with it. But i loved Intermezzo! I think is a book that could be not that divisiv
The lack of Greek retellings in fantasy this year make me SO HAPPY.
Omg I need that open taps episode on Gilmore Girls right now!

I felt the Gilmore Girl section so much, putting my vote in for a WTOOT episode lol
Also putting a vote in for the reading vlog! ✋
Re: Gilmore Girls girls, Luke voted for Trump for "the economy" and y'all know it.
I can already seen the winner in some categories. Loving the audiobook section but wish they still had the middle grade category and picture books.

All the Colors of the Dark was Fabulous !!!
I'm reading Sky Full of Elephants now, and It's got Octavia Butler vibes to me. I'm enjoying it and getting a bit of catharsis.

Loving the gilmore girls side bar and definitely need more!!
Murder Road by Simone St. James was soooo good!
I really loved Listen for the Lie. If you read that one, definitely listen to the audiobook!

Not What She Seems was an Amazon Prime First Reads option. I have it but haven't read it yet. (Which is normal for me.)
I'm excited about the possible, maybe, we'll see if it happens, vlog❤😂
Honestly same 😆
Please do a Gilmore Girls wtoot! OMG it's terrible, and the 2016 Netflix series makes that abundantly clear imho
I listened to Rebecca Nagle's podcast This land so definitely interested in her book
They definitely need to add a graphic novel category. I thought there was one in the past??
Yes, they switched it and Middle Grade out for Romantasy.
@@JulieTheReader Yeah, I thought there was supposed to be a MG category, too. I mean, why not just add more instead of replacing??

Side thought: SJM is in Romantasy now bc you cant have people voting SJM vs Fourth Wing and SJM lose…
The night ends with fire and Voyage of the Damned were Illumicrate releases. The tainted Cup was special edition for inkstone and broken binding.
Devil at his elbow is excellent

Jess - if you want to read unhinged woman lit, read All Fours by Miranda July. Completely unhinged.
The horror category comes through for me again! Diavola is my pick atm, but couple ofnothers are on by TBR. Others, blah.
Kate Quinn is a HF writer - you must be thinking of someone else
Maybe Julia Quinn? She writes historical romance.
Was also thinking Julia Quinn
the disrespect towards emily wilde
