I am a graduate of Girlstown, I'm from the first generation in Brazil. I am immensely grateful and love the sisters so much and everything they represent in my life. At school there were some paintings of Sister Margie, and I loved looking at them... they often served as inspiration for my drawings and paintings. I met Sister Margie because she sometimes came to Brazil with Sister Michaela when I was a student... and eventually I participated in the international rosary of graduates. Thanks for everything, sister!

Thank you for inviting our dear mother-sister Margie on your show. I am one of the alumni of The Sisters of Mary in the Philippines who graduated in 1996. Fr. Al Schwartz, the sisters and Sisters of Mary contributed a lot in who and how I am today. I am blessed to be one of their chosen children. I hope your program be an additional instrument to spread the good news about World Villages so that we can inspire more and let them know that the works of Fr. Al continues even if he is no longer on this earth. God bless and thank you! 🙏🤗🙌

I'm a 28th Batch Member of the SMS-Boystown in Minglanilla,
Gratitude Extension for this Alma Mater:
This is always my hearty expression that I have in my heart to always extend my gratitude to the Sisters and especially to our beloved Founder Ven. Aloysius Schwartz. I'm always grateful for him, though I have so much infidelities and frailties in life as I suppose that we all experience that, however the flame of love for them is so much sprinkling and as much as this is a bounteous fountain. Viva Padre Luis!

There are great things happening in Mexico at the schools right now. The community leaders are investing in the students and they are giving them a chance once they graduate so the cartels don’t gobble them up. Please pray for those making this happen.

Haha! I saw the bobbleheads I can't help but laugh and think how I can imagine the same table set up but for Hindus and their gods! Hilarious! I mean seriously, think about what a riot that would be. The pope and every other pope is so awesome, nice guy for sure, not creepy and has no agenda in the least. That sure is a table full of figures that catholics venerate and hope to be like so they pray to them. I mean... ask to pray for them.
Anyhow, I'm off to go ask (I mean actually pray, though) Christ to give me his heart so I can be more like him.

8:48 if you can afford to eat at McDonald's all the time you can afford seasonal produce, oatmeal, chicken leg quarters, tuna, carne picada, you can get like 150 bananas for $5, and 10lbs of leg quarters for $7, being broke is not a reason to eat garbage. I fed 7 kids on foodstamps and didn't tolerate that kind of a diet through any part of it. Soapbox dismounted.

Charity is wonderful, but charity without proselytizing will always be better. By all means feed the hungry and serve the poor, but if you use food and service as bait to indoctrinate children into your cult, that kinda sours what would have been a pure act of kindness free of ulterior motives, doesn't it?
I mean just turn the other way around and if this example offends your sensibilities:
An atheist charity group opens a childrens clinic, and after they help each kid they say "now remember not to thank god because he doesn't exist, thank the doctors because they're the ones who actually did something to help you"
That's pretty uncalled for right? Didn't need to say that at all, could've just helped some kids out of the kindness of their heart and not ruined that gesture of good will by trying to preach.
Not hatin, just something to keep in mind.

I think that showing the kids how to be close to God might be the biggest gift these sisters do. Food is important, health is important, but there are things more important to life than just surviving. I do agree with you that this should be as voluntary as possible.

    • @ashandezoysa2133

The reason they do charity is because God inspires them , they have a direct experience with God and then they dedicate their life to doing this charity work, leaving everything else in the world behind. Also the reason most people donate to these charities is because God inspires them , I couldn't have ever thought of donating to charities, if God did not change my life 7 years ago , until that ,I have never donated any money to charities..
so going by your comment, you want them to do charity but not introduce the very person of God who inspired them to do it in the first place ? Aethist is free to say what ever they want , but there won't be Christian charity without God. So they are greatful enough to introduce God to the charity work they do.
Otherwise it's like asking them to pick apples and feed them to the poor but cut down the apple tree . Doesn't make much sense rite ?

@@ashandezoysa2133 I know someone who will resonate with what I'm about to say. Don't you think it's more *noble* when someone does a good deed unprompted? Just because they themselves thought it was the right thing to do?
When you call your grandparents and talk to them because you thought of them and you care how they're doing, isn't that more noble than calling because your mom had to remind you to do it? That's the difference I'm talking about.
Also I don't believe you. You absolutely could have thought of and participated in charity before you became religious. I base that on the fact that I'm not religious and I think of it everyday. Its the reason I plant my garden every spring, most of my crop gets canned and donated. The only impetus is my desire to be useful and help those in need, and my only reward is that it feels good to do good. That is the proper example for mankind. The example you would have is that of a mule, with your god having to dangle a cosmic carrot in front of you and/or threaten you with a cosmic stick in order for you to behave yourself and be useful. What a degrading, sado-masichistic idea. No thank you.

@@ashandezoysa2133 I had a similar experience. When I was agnostic I only donated $70 for earthquake victims. After having a direct experience with God I have donated 1000 times more than that or more through the years.

@@The_Atheist_Carpenter5625 you might be a very noble person but not every one is the same , I had the desire to do charity but never had the capacity to do any. all my extra money was spent on night clubs , bars , alcohol, branded clothing and women ect .. I was addicted to these things , I thought I was living a free life, but in reality , I was a captive to my own addictions and actually lived a pretty miserable life , until I experienced God , then i received love that I never experienced in my life , I was set free from all addictions.. I no longer had the need to run after my addictions to satisfy myself . Now I not only have the desire but also have capacity and genuine love for the poor to do charity. I'm not perfect and I can do more for sure , but Compared to my previous life , without doubt I do much more charity now .
God I experienced is definitely not the God you have described , some type of tyrant that tells you what to do and what not to .. we all have the freedom to choose and now that I obey God more , I really know what true freedom in life is like.
