Kate has made a mockery of Micah’s entire career again and again, and not in a nonsensical way either but in a mean-spirited way i.e., she actually means what she says about him and laughs at him. Jamie didn’t mean it at all, that comment could have been easily shrugged off if you know it isn’t true. Micah can’t shrug off Kate’s comments towards him because she means what she says.
You know what they say, you get it as good aa you give. Don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house. If Kate never roasted anybody in the panel and Jamie had said what he said, then yes, it would’ve been uncalled for and inappropriate. I think there's nuance to the situation. I don't think Jamie went too far, personally. If you're familiar with him, you know his sense of humor and banter is exactly this, but now a boundary has been set by Malik (and maybe Kate too) and it must be respected going forward. I think it's a little silly to imply threats of physical violence, but otherwise, I think it's fine for all involved.
