@@geek2gether469 Is it possible to install a residential server that does not have port 80 open? In this case it would be ip:port, will it work with SSL? thanks
Hello dear. Tks for your explanation. Iam using a nginx proxy reverse with ssl behind the onlyoffice documentserver. I need to install the onlyoffice server certificate or proxy reverse is good ?
Thank you for watching. It’s best you install its own certificate. But if you already have a reverse proxy like Nginx or ha proxy you can use it for ssl termination.
In the manner you explained in the video, I have created the document server while following the same steps, but it is not functioning correctly. Could you please assist me with this matter?
Hi. I don't have a cloudflare account, neither I don't owny any domain. Just have my ubuntu server with docker. How to install onlyoffice community edition with docker and make it using https then? Could you please make a video about? My problem is that I have some containers but don't have an idea how to secure then with https. The same story with onlyoffice.
Thank you for watching. You need to use a reverse proxy. You can start with cloudflare proxy and it’s free to use. I will probably make future videos about using cloudflare proxy.
Check the error logs in /var/log/onlyoffice for errors. Also make sure if your behind a proxy only office can get the clients real ip by using the x forwarded header depending on the reverse proxy you may be using but the logs should give you more information
@@geek2gether469 Keenetic router support team suggested that nextcloud incorrectly handles the HTTP header, so I need to run the following commands (telnet command in the router): ip http proxy preserve-host exit system configuration save Did. And start working! Thanks!
Thank you for watching. As far as I know, no it doesn’t, the community version is free. The only limitation is onlyoffice docs access on mobile devices like your cell phone is limited to view only.
Thank you for watching. There is no 100% secure system. If you expose a system to the internet it could be compromised if not properly secured. Additional steps need to be taken to secure online services like implementing an IDS,IPS, and more .
I follow this tutorial to a T and I get the following error; Error when trying to connect (Error occurred in the document service: Error while downloading the document file to be converted.)
Thank you for watching. Can you please provide more information ? did you successfully setup ssl? and can you access the doc server on your browser using the url? screenshots are helpful (remove all sensitive information before posting them). Alternatively you can post a question and open a new topic here and add attachments so i can help you. geek2gether.com/forums/nextcloud/
@@geek2gether469 Thanks. I did successfully setup SSL on both nextcloud and onlyoffice. The browsing to the doc server, it indicates it was successfully installed. I completed the setup exactly the same as your tutorial. I will go to your forum to get more assistance if available.

@@geek2gether469 Turned out that is was the timezone setting on the server. I just happen to stumble on a post where someone said they changed the timezone on both servers and it worked. The only one working tutorial on the Internet. Well done!

Thank you for watching. What IP address?
@geek2gether469 the one you are typing at 3:30
That’s the up address of the virtual machine I used to do the install. You need to find yours and use it
its necessary the SSL cert?
If you plan on securing communication, and using it externally then yes

@@geek2gether469 thank you for your answer! Would using Cloudflare tunnel a good security measure? Also, what’s up with the permanent welcome message?
Yes cloudflare tunnel should another additional security measure. Also don’t forget to always keep the server up to date
@@geek2gether469 a security measure like what?
Some are, you can use your own WAF or something like crowdsec as an additional layer of security. Harden the OS of the vm or pc onlyoffice runs on.
