- Here's how I was able to make coasters out of wood bark. I picked up some discarded Mango and Rubber tree logs from the street and here's how I made coasters out of the dried wood barks. I had to dry them for a few months. Once they were dry, I turned them into Wood Discs to giveaway during the holidays.
Unfortunately I messed up on some of the larger pieces. Fortunately, I took a video of the mistakes so you won't have to make the same ones when you try out this project.

I love how you showed the what not to do aspect. Most how to's just say everything is so easy so nicely done!
Coat with Pentacryl to seal and prevent cracking.
Thanks for messing up so we don't have to lol
Haha. Messed it up plenty too!
What is sanding sealer?
We just lost so many beautiful trees in hurricane Michael and I want to cut some slices for memory. This was SUPER helpful thank you!
How did you cut the small pieces my chopsaw won’t cut all the way through and I’m working on a project about the same size as the small ones that you show I’m having trouble getting both sides Horizontal to each other Also how dry was the wood
I would not use a shop saw to cut. I have a video on me trying this and the miter saw kicking back. I would use a reciprocating saw or chain saw instead.
What is a sanding sealer? I sanded my wood piece until it's pretty smooth. Then coat it with 5 coats of semi gloss polyurethane. It doesn't seemed to be sealed yet. It still has that dry wood texture. I need help :(
Sanding sealer plugs up the grains in the wood so that your poly can settle on the surface evenly.
