- Today I am going to show you what it is like to drive from our town of Eagle River to Anchorage in the winter and what is along the way. Then we will take a look at the Alaska Dimond mall decorated for Christmas and do some Christmas Shopping!

I was stationed at elmendorf as an Air Force nurse in 1976-1978. Boy has Anchorage changed. We didn’t have a mall then and Eagle River had just a few homes. Loved the skit your sons did. So funny.

Thank you so much for all the Eagle River footage. So much has changed since I lived in Mt View and Eagle River in 1970's. The drive into Anchorage used to be so hazardous coming across the river, hair-raising for sure.

Ice rink in mall brings back memories, we had one near me in the 70's but that mall has since been torn down. It was something unusual for Pa. At that time

We have our fist lot of snow first for about 20 yrs xxxx😢so I now know what you go through everyday 😢😢😢😢😢
The oil and vinegar store is always a favorite for my husband and I. I buy a smoked olive oil and put my roasted garlic in it in the fridge for a few days and then spread the garlic and oil as a base for my pizzas, sooo good. The oil and vinegars are also good for get together s for ppl to dip breads into. I love giving ppl a few choices and watch as they are surprised and excited by them.
When I come visit Canada I love to go into Old Navy and buy things for myself and for gifts. I also love Bath and Beauty. I am from the UK so we don’t have those stores sadly. Love your little Luna she is exactly the same colouring and neediness as my Polly. Thank you for sharing your days ❤️stay safe.

Loved spending the day with you at the mall! I never go to malls anymore because I'm disabled. So it is wonderful to see all the things through your eyes. The snow is beautiful. We don't get much here in Oklahoma. The boys skit was 😂 hilarious!

In our local Miss Arctic Circle pageant, a lot of girls talk about hunting and fishing. They’ll have pictures, with samples of dried meat, fish, berries, jam, seal oil, moose roast. Maybe he could bring some prepared harvested foods to share with the judges.
Would love to see your Eagle River. Seeing Alaska through your eyes and knowledge of the area of Anchorage is amazing.

Thank you so much for letting us in on you're fun day, it is very enjoyable and keep up the great work. I am so glad I found you and letting us learn about Alaska. I have two boys who are 7 and 13 so I understand about just getting into the teen years and how him and his younger brother have been trying to get along, but it is tough for now. When they are older probably both of them will get along better, we shall see. My family are also a hunting family, my dad would get a bull elk with a bow every year for our meat and we all fished and camped too so we have quite a bit in common. It’s so funny that I found yr channel. We were just there over the thanksgiving holiday visiting family in Palmer. We traveled that highway n ate at the Arctic Roadrunner. They had the best burgers. One family member has a hair salon in Eagle River. Just subscribed too to watch what’s going on in that area from time to time. Happy holidays

Your video showed up on my feed, so I figured why not. Wow did that walk through the mall bring back memories. I haven't been their since the 90's--when it still had carpet. The only thing that looked the same was the ice rink and the movie theater (maybe sunglass hut) LOL!

Thank you ! There used to be one of those Oil and Vinegar stores at 5th Ave Mall but it closed down, now when we come down in April I’ll bring our bottles with us to get them refilled. The Mango vinegar is so good on a pork tenderloin. And love that salad from Chili’s, it’s my favorite !
