Eyes you'll shut forever. We will meet again” & "There's only one hell, Princess. The one we live in now" & "There's only one war. Life against death" & Death by fire is the purest death" & "death is coming for everyone and everything. PaulM68322 that “pep talk” saved EVERYTHING YOU HOLD DEAR. Yes, that includes the little girls locked in your basement. Next time, don’t be calling out my girl Mel.
For those who haven't read the books, Melisandre is over 400 years old. That means she was born hundreds of years before the events of House of the Dragon (which takes places 200 years before Game of Thrones). Melisandre was born in the legendary eastern city of Ashai, also known as Ashai by the Shadow, which is the furthest eastern city of Essos and the furthest city we as readers (and viewers) have any information on. It's a city shrowded in mystery and secrecy. Ashai is permanently covered in darkness due to the Great Mountains of the Morne that loom over it's borders and beyond Ashai lies the Shadow Lands that stretch on endlessly in a chain of jagged mountains and valleys so high and steep that they are virtually impenetrable. The Shadow Lands are also where Daenerys dragon eggs come from according to Magister Illyrio (A close friend of Varys, and the man who gifted Daenerys the dragon eggs during her wedding ceremony to Khal Drogo in Season 1 Episode 1 and the one who arranged the marriage between Daenerys and Khal Drogo in the first place). South of Ashai lies the Southeastern Continent of Ulthos, where all the maps stop and of which we have virtually no information on. This is very, very far away from Slaver's Bay, Meereen, Bravos, Qaarth and the Dothraki Sea and so far from Westeros and the Seven Kingdoms it might as well be on another planet, a sea voyage from Westeros to Ashai roughly taking several years of non stop sailing depending on where you set sail from. The city of Ashai and all it's monuments are made entirely of a strange, smooth black stone that almost seems to absorb light and people in Ashai walk around the streets covered in masks and veils to cover their faces, although the streets are almost always empty. Ashai is seemingly devoid of children for unknown reasons and the city is "shady" in all senses of the word and is home to many different temples but all of them worship the God known as R'hllor, also known as the Lord of Light in Westeros. It's also the birthplace of the myth of Azor Ahai and The Prince Who Was Promised (who Melisandre falsely believed was Stannis reborn). Ashai is also the birthplace of an ancient and extremely rare artform known as "shadowbinding" which is what we saw Melisandre perform in Season 2 with the "shadow demon baby" that killed Renly Baratheon. Shadowbinding essentially works by "binding" literal shadows to your will and turning them into anthropomorphous beings that are capable of physically manifesting for short periods of time. North of Ashai lies the ruined corpse city of Stygai, where only the bravest (or dumbest) warriors and the fearsome shadowbinders dare go upriver and enter it's unholy gates, as the decrepit necropolis is said to be cursed and infested with demons and other monstrosities. It is said that Stygai is the ruined capital city of an ancient civilization known as the Golden Empire of the Dawn, which is allegedly the first empire of the world and it is said that they too had dragons. Some claim dragons come from the Shadow Lands and not from Old Valyria and that the people of Old Valyria once were part of the Golden Empire of the Dawn before it's destruction and they then relocated to the Valyrian Peninsula, far away from the haunted Shadow Lands. Yet as fate would have it, the Valyrians too suffered a similar fate and their empire collapsed into oblivion, leaving only the Targaryens as the sole surviving Dragonlords. But the ancient magic and history surrounding Ashai and it's sister capital Stygai remain shrowded in mystery and legend.
I loved Littlefinger's death scene. Aye, the way Petyr moved was dumb (maybe it was a passionate move to get rid of Arya and have Sansa, the young version of Catelyn, all for himself). What intrigues me is that in the end he died just like Cat, desperate, begging for a chance to live, and then gets cut in the throat in a shocking way. Seriously, I loved it, and I think in the books it might even be a better build plan he executed.

I admire her faith in R'hllor and how she is convinced that she serves as his instrument to guide Stannis to the throne. Sacrificing Shireen may be regarded as erroneous but Melisandre knew the cost of guiding Stannis was high and did what she deemed was necessary as the Lord of Light willed. I love her.

Melisandre is an unknown variable as is the Lord of Light. The Night King while terrifying has his plans written in his actions. The Lord of Light has his disciples doing so many different things, sometimes the things they are doing run so contrary to what we think or perceive to be right... you are left questioning everything you know. It's pretty glorious. ESPECIALLY when it comes to prophecy, the little moments where she's talking to the fucking fire is some of the absolute creepiest shit in that show. Melisandre is awesome because she's terrifying, despicable, and mostly right... even when she's SO SO WRONG!
When she first showed up in season two I hated her. From the very first time I saw her I hated her. However, she eventually became one of my favorite characters. The reason is because she realized she was wrong and she was so much better after that. Her character development was awesome.
I remember Melisandre telling the guy with chopped off fingers (i cant remember his name for some reason) that she couldve tamed the wildfire back at the blackwater... i wouldve loved to see that!
She was actually powerful. She was the one doing the magic. A mistress of the dark arts. But kept giving credit to some red god in her flames who she never met in the end.
Just rewatching this show is a blessing, even now knowing that it ends in pitty. What a show, what a fucking show. Even with its tainted ending, it will forever be the greatest TV show.
I sometimes play this music as I stand at my bedroom window, wrapped in my red blanket and drinking wine. If someone passes my house, I give them a mysterious smile as if I've seen their future in the flames. I sometimes seduce them too, in order to produce Shadow assassins to destroy my enemies.
400 years old and hot as hell!
I'll wager a guess that Mel was killed at one point and brought back herself without knowing it probably why she lived so long
I was discussing this notion just the other day! I don't know if I support it fully, but I also don't think it's outside the realm of possibility.

So schön und ehrfürchtig..Gänsehaut
Fucking love this tracks.
This soundtrack is always badass, mysterious and beautiful
This composition is so evil and every time it's make me so giggly and excited 😊
When she first showed up in season two I hated her. From the very first time I saw her I hated her. However, she eventually became one of my favorite characters. The reason is because she realized she was wrong and she was so much better after that. Her character development was awesome.
"Āeksios Ōño, aōhos ōñoso ilōn jehikās!
Āeksios Ōño, ilōn misās!
Kesrio syt bantis zābrie issa se ossȳngnoti lēdys!"
“Cock balls lmao” -Season 8
I remember Melisandre telling the guy with chopped off fingers (i cant remember his name for some reason) that she couldve tamed the wildfire back at the blackwater... i wouldve loved to see that!
By saying 'guy with chopped off fingers' you mean Davos Seaworth

This song is beautiful like the woman I can never forgive.
Used the first song for a dark moment in my DND campaign and I must say it set the mood perfectly
3:33 this is just too much 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This theme made me like Melisandre muuuch more then before.
Instant chills!!!
"Are you alright?" "I just got bit by a dead bear!" "Yes, you did." "Funny old life."
Game of Thrones series was so good for a time.
Her music theme is wonderful. Remember what was happening is sometime creepy. Just genius.
Red Woman was merely a servant.
She was actually powerful. She was the one doing the magic. A mistress of the dark arts. But kept giving credit to some red god in her flames who she never met in the end.
my favourite soundtrack
Epic
Gran tema.
Lord of Light protect us because the night is dark and full of terrors.
La nuit est sombre est plaine de terreur ^^
She fought for the dawn and was the first to see it, dying under its light.
Favorite character
3:33 ufff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS THE BEST ONE
Legend
Just rewatching this show is a blessing, even now knowing that it ends in pitty.
What a show, what a fucking show. Even with its tainted ending, it will forever be the greatest TV show.
Not after the shitty last two seasons
Probably the best character in the show
Track 2 is that FIRE.
Just want to remind u that in the image she is watching a child burn alive
Season 8 is bad and full of errors - Live long Melisandre!!
But HoD burns them all away
Omg 3:33
3:33 love it
Best character!
love this!
I sometimes play this music as I stand at my bedroom window, wrapped in my red blanket and drinking wine. If someone passes my house, I give them a mysterious smile as if I've seen their future in the flames. I sometimes seduce them too, in order to produce Shadow assassins to destroy my enemies.
he!!!/she would be connected in HOD??...But What a theme and Thumbnail picture!!!

Just waiting for the lord of light to appear in the final season, he seems to be the only true god in the GOT universe
