This beautiful song is his own composition. He wrote it after a dream. It's the most peaceful and dreamy song I've ever heard . I can also listen to it all day.
He was the mentor of the other guy in the competition in order to help him win. Hua Hua is the master of harmony. Whoever he sings with will always show the best harmony. He is an all-round musician.

Absolutely love that song. Hua Hua said he wrote it from a dream he had. Hua's lower register reminded me of Bono from U2 on this version of Giant Deer. He is a master of harmonizing, I don't think I've ever heard a duet of his that wasn't beautifully matched. Thank you, lovely reaction to a gorgeous song. Take care 💖

HuaHua was a mentor for 3 years in this show called The Coming One (TCO), Tian yi is a pupil. Giant Deer is HuaHua's own music composition, so peaceful and dreamy, truly unique. Tian Yi was a contestant in The Coming One 2, with Hua Chenyu as mentor and judge. Tian Yi never impressed me much and did his best i guess. All other versions are better in my opinion. Giant Deer is absolutely beautiful!
Hua’s concert version is also great. Hua’s other duets are even better. Couple with Su Shiding “Perhaps Love” and Nanping Bells; Insignificant.
@@Wkd183 Yes, i agree. The Deer is on my playlist. And all duets from The Next are awesome. My fav is The Idiot with Ma Lu, i think. Hcy did a magic rearrangement of the Giant Deer here to help Tian Yi out. He always does that. It may be just me of course, ive never been a fan of thin voices.
You should check out his performances with Su Shiding on The Next. In this show he rearranges songs in 24 hours given by amateur singers. The best of the amateur singers eventually get to sing with a mentor (Hua Chenyu). Hua Chenyu rearranges two songs to accomadate Su Shiding. Both performances are great, "Nanping Hill Evening Bell" and "Perhaps Love". 💕
Try the album or concert version with him singing the entire song...it definitely makes you feel like you are flying and floating...
If you like the harmonizing you should check out Nanping Evening Bells with Shu Shiding ( Juno) or Perhaps Love with same. Also did one with Meng Zikun from Coming one as well. He can harmonize with anyone! But this is one of my very favorites!

Tian Yi along with the other young men you sometimes see on the peripherals of the stage were all contestants on another (there are many) reality based singing competition in China called "The Coming One". Hua Hua was Tian Yi's mentor for the season. Tian Yi ended up placing second and I suspect that may have been because he was having to perform Hua Chenyu songs and not just any Hua Chenyu songs but rather some of the most difficult to sing. "The Giant Deer" is one of Hua Hua's own songs. He wrote it after waking up from a dream he was having in which the giant deer's that live in the forest behind his house were coming down from the hills and into his backyard and then disappearing in a flash of blue light as if they were walking through a portal to another dimension (he even has quite an active imagination in his dreams). When he woke up it was raining outside and the rain coming down on the tin roof of his house made it sound like the deer had gotten up on his roof. After fully waking up he realized that he couldn't quite shake the dream from his mind so he sat down and wrote this song about it. The song is one of the hardest songs of his to sing and it had to challenge Tian Yi. Tian Yi did a really good job but when you are standing on stage with Hua Chenyu and he starts singing (or using his voice as an instrument), your voices own deficiencies are going to stand out. In this case, Hua Hua was so much smoother than Tian Yi and it was obvious. There is also a clip from that season here on UA-cam of Tian Yi and Hua Hua singing Hua Hua's "King and Beggar" which is another difficult song to sing.
The deer has phonetic meaning . The word for deer is lu. Because of this, deer can have a connotation with riches. Along with riches, the deer has a strong connotation with status and position. Another translation of the word lu is "official salary," which also leads to this conclusion. The deer could have been placed near the temples to bring wishes of wealth and status to the people.
But in this case was just a dream with a real Deer since i know!
If u think about Santas and his flying Deers, so for me is almost the same conotation! He saw the Deer flying through the sky to the universe!

I have never heard of this version. It's beautiful but I can totally see the difference. I'm sorry but I just love totally Hua's version.
Great reaction. Great Deer is Hua Chenyu's own song. If you like harmony check out Nanping evening Bell. Hua Chenyu and Su Shiding. And also Perhaps Love.
Spring is another etherial song from the show Hi. Not recommended much to react to. Won song of the show or something like that. The show is where established singers choose which composers song they want to rearrange.
