Sir for the nominal balanced load (Pb), close enough lang naman ang answer pag neglect the stress of the steel, pwede lang po ba diretso (Pb=0.85fc’ab)? Baka di na applicable for larger area steel sa middle section.

Hello po Sir, pano po kung yung c balanced na nakuha mo ay less than half ng section? Since icoconsider na po ung mga bakal sa gitna na tension, kukuha po ba ng panibagong effective depth?
yes, magiging tension po yung bakal na hindi sakop ng depth ng "c" or in your case, "cbal".
sa "effective depth" naman, we calculate the stresses considering different depths (hindi yung sa centroid ng lahat ng tension bars)
