From childhood to adulthood, Derek Jeter gave me nothing but great memories. So proud and pleased to say that he was my favorite player to watch and idolized. A special player who played the game of baseball with class & dignity. Congratulations on a well-earned honor.

I’ll never understand why people say “Overrated”. He played 20 years doing something he loved and got acknowledged for it by rightfully being inducted into the HoF. Would be weird if people showed up to your job and started yelling “Overrated” at what you do Don’t hate. Just appreciate the fact that it’s an honor and it’s something he worked for his whole life. Just cuz you disagree doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve it
As a Jays fan, I hated this guy. But definitely worthy of the HOF, and my congrats to him. To the fans who are trying to start a witch hunt for that one guy who didn't vote for Jeter, just move on. If Jeter doesn't care, why should you?
The idea that some dopey writer decided that this man-with that incredible resume-should not be in the MLB Hall of fame is just outrageous and shameful. One of the all time greats. A true honor to watch him all those years!
Marco Deo Nah don’t buy it-if your job is to vote for players deserving to be in the hall of fame,then that’s a pretty high honor. You should take it seriously and select the players who qualify. No one who knows Baseball would say Jeter did not deserve it so every writer should have put him on the ballot without a second thought. Just because writers years ago ridiculously did not put the all time greats in easily doesn’t mean today’s writers should make that same mistake.
