The XJL R Supercharged gives me an adrenaline surge.Couldn't believe my heart beat, and that's by just looking at that beast sitting there on the showroom floor without a roar.love to drive this monster on a German autobahn.
I purchased my Jaguar XJ 3 years ago and I love it. This is a very nice luxury car. I liked when he said " ready to pounce " because that is what I say all the time when people get in my way slowing around. I will leap and pounce on you. Lol😁
I had one of these at the beginning of 2015 I had the XJL Supercharged. The pros for me were that it was different looking than the rest of the flagship sedans offered by Audi, Mercedes, BMW. Let me say this , BMW is likely the worst piece of garbage car you can buy (no matter the model). The looks is what drew me in to get the vehicle. It was rather nice and smooth drive, then I noticed sunroof went out and was making noise during regular driving like rattling and some buffering. Under warranty it was fixed. Then I was out of town and stopped to pump gas and when I tried starting vehicle the damn thing didnt start (all electronics went dead), leaving me stranded at a gas station 5 hours away from my home. Alternator was replaced, battery was replaced under warranty and electronics checked, the no start issue happened another time after that but in my driveway. This was the first 12K miles. It was at dealership for service issues about 2 more times, one for a no start issue that dealership couldnt pinpoint or re-create and then I decided to get rid of it since it was unpredictable and you need reliability in a vehicle so you wont be stranded on the side of the road. I pity the bastard who likely ended up buying it as a certified pre owned vehicle. I wish I knew who they were so I could have warned them. Ended up getting a Lexus LS, and it ended up being the most quiet car I have driven, smooth and quiet. The seats are more comfortable than the XJ (both front and rear). It has more reliable eletronics. Only down side of the LS is that it looks boring, but as far as luxury goes it does the job. I will never think of buying a junky jaguar again. They have been garbage for a long time and the current models are just dressed up junkers. I cant stress enough how quiet the Lexus LS is. The sound system is great and its easy to drive and responsive. Lexus really knocked it out of the park with how quiet the vehicle is. Its not a sports sedan by any means, but on the highway for long trips the car cant really be beat. Maintenance so far has been just fluid changes, but nothing like the Jaguar and its unpredictable reliability. I pulled next to a XJ the other week at a light and looked over and just shook my head thinking "how many times has that bastard been to the dealership for repair" . So even if you have a warranty dont let that fool you, you will likely be in a loaner a lot and your car will still not be reliable and the Jaguar dealership will just try to limp your car along by making half ass repairs until mileage is out of warranty or try to get you to trade it back for another piece of junk they are selling and then really try to stick you in your ass with a bill.
He said " ready to pounce " ha. I banged an xj last nite in my 2011 malibu ltz 3.6l. At 75mph he started gaining and passed me. Seriously though 80 grand and my malibu can out accelerate it. ? Sure it weighs more , but they are selling this like it's fast.
You really think people driving the XJ will pay any attention to those driving the economy cars? They are above that and something you will never understand. This isn't for speed, or anything else. It is a social status.
+Reddylion The US don't get the diesel version of this, it has a few less HP but way more torque (more than than the normal V8), does 40mpg and is just as fast as the V6. Almost everyone buys the diesel in the UK and Europe unless you have the big supercharged V8 but our petrol prices are some of the highest in the world. In many cases the diesel version of this of more economical than a smaller petrol hatch back.
Just bought one last year. Used. Never knew Jag was as luxurious as this. Very nice car!

If you’re the corporate product specialist then you “should” know how to properly pronounce the product that you are the specialist in!
