Very cool idea using heavy gauge wire for the core, that might make it difficult/uncomfortable to wear though. I am assuming that since the core is so stiff you don't need to fasten the ends... correct?
It's not as useful as a paracord bracelet with the inner strands because the inner strands give it strength, and you can use them as fishing line in a survival situation
What AWG of wire you using? I wanna try my hand making one of these with .45ACP shell ends but I'm not easily finding a good wire size that fits 550 tightly.
Use a little black sharpie and color the inner frays at the end before you melt it. It is nice

A very small diameter cable 1/16 or 1/32 replacing few strands would increase strength a lot. Harder to tie, but very strong.
I might try this with TIG welding filler rod. Or maybe wire coat hanger. 🤔
