RING THE CHURCH BELLS! THE WHOLE VILLAGE MUST KNOW! PSB IS BACK!
I don't know what is more stunning, the song, or the video. All I know, is I'm having flashbacks to 2012 when I first ever heard Spitfire and its release....
I can still remember the first time I heard Spitfire. Chris Hawkins early breakfast show on 6 Music, so probably 5:30 in the morning. Stopped from emptying the dishwasher/feeding the cat to listen to this new wonder. Been my favourite new band ever since.
Good God man, was that really 12 years ago?
Absolutely. A spiritual successor to Spitfire.
@@turtletronify How's the cat? Started feeding it yet? Emptied the dishwasher? Tickets for Bristol : Check. First class train tickets booked: Check.
Here we go!!!
Go
I’m an Earhart researcher from the U.K. and this is spectacular. A wonderful tribute to a fascinating woman who continues to inspire people 87 years after she disappeared. Shared with my colleagues over in the USA.
Such an underrated British band.. Such a talented band.
Probably theee most underrated British band.👍🙏
This is a wonderful tribute to one of the pioneering aircraft of aviation. My father was a pilot and his first aircraft was a wooden propeller Biplane called a Tiger Moth. In World War II he flew mosquitoes as a night fighter. After the war he flew transatlantic from Amsterdam to New York using the stars to navigate in a Lockheed Constellation passenger aircraft. In the 50’s he was a test pilot and ended his career with supersonic jets. I very much look forward to the rest of this album that is a tribute to all those who were the pioneers of aviation. As always another great track and history lesson from PBS.
Cool, my grandfather was a navigator in a Mosquito in 464 squadron during WWII and was shot down over France, where he was rescued by the French Resistance.
Nice Dad story! I believe the album is specifically focused on Amelia Earhart though (thus The Last Flight) rather than all who were aviation pioneers. I like that PSB bring that focus to their tribute to the flying machine!
@@andreaholland9470 Laurie Anderson also has an album about Amelia ealheart this year strangely enough
There were a couple of historical audio samples in there that nodded to past PSB songs. Loved that and the rest of it!
Yep, the 'machines will do the heavy work' clip has now appeared in three PSB songs by my count.
@WeaselKing1000 could you tell me which songs you heard the sample in? I just remember it from one Song on "Every Valley"
@@SimmiksimDer Rhythmus der maschinen
@@Simmiksim It was also used in 'Der Rhythmus der Maschinen', on 'Bright Magic'.
@@SimmiksimProgress on Every Valley.
Oldschool PSB! Luvvin' it!!!!!😃😃😃😃
Classic PSB! Fantastic, absolutely LOVE it! If the rest of the album is as awesome as this it’s gonna be something pretty special! Excellent work guys!
Great vid and song excellent distorted drums giving that hard edge and then the sweet vocals spelling out E.L.E.C.T.R.A in tribute to Amelia and her aeroplane, all with that PSB signature sound taking us ,once again, into historical dreamland, "wings, body, tail, all in one "!
PSB, back in form! Will gladly listen to the upcoming "Last Flight" album!
Simply stunning. The most wonderful aeroplane and wonderful track. 'All in one'.
Been here since the beginning, seen them numerous times including an epic Albert Hall gig to a pub like gig in Prague, going to see them next in Hamburg in November, there really is no other group like them. GO!
I stumbled across them today. 🎉🎉
That "E - ... LEC -... TRA" is mesmerizing.
OMG, that map is enough foreshadowing to make me start crying.
Thank you for this our beloved PSB
Man, this is right up my street
Yo wait Project Air likes PSB love it
Absolutely bravo. What a generous and thoughtful musical homage to a tremendous woman. Terrific tribute to Amelia.
NR 16020 is Amelia Earhart's Electra! I am so glad you gentlemen are doing music about her!
Distill the best elements of early PSB (including a line from 'Spitfire' - "Wings, body, tail; all in one"), slow cook for 3years, add a generous scoop of perfectly crafted video, and Waiting until Oct for the new album will pain me.....
I heard this on the radio today. It’s wonderfully crafted, quite a masterpiece
Eera and Hannah Peel. Ambassador you are spoiling us.
Wow! Bravo Mr Willgoose and gang! 👏
Man this is gorgeous
Now that's nice
Great track and needs to be watched with the video.
Love the Easter eggs too.
I love this editing style so much
LOVE IT! Looking forward to the full album release :)
Espectacular, deseando veros en Madrid en noviembre 🔥🩶🤍!!
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For anyone wondering, this is for the Lockheed Model 10 Electra with twin radial engines, not the Lockheed L-188 Electra with 4 turboprops. I made the same mistake.
Just amazing!
So happy to see a new PSB album! Great as always, and I love the callbacks to Spitfire, Korolev, Progress etc, they always make me smile.
I was gonna say, hey wait wasn't that a snippet of Korolev in there? (One of my all-time PSB faves, that.)
You guy's simply Rock It !!
Been listening to this for the last 10 days, every time I have WiFi I listen to it again,I’ve even in Botswana so don’t have access to WiFi that much, but it is as brilliant as Spitfire or Everest if not better can’t wait for the album and to see the band live again in Brighton
what a great sound ❤
This has a very 65daysofstatic vibe to it, very promising for the new album... also, lovely video
I don't know if agree but I'm too glad to hear someone knowing 65daysofstatic ❤
PSB and aviation theme are a match made in heaven (no pun intendeed)
I've heard of a greatest hits album, but not a greatest hits hit! Great stuff!
Lovely... Just lovely 😍
That nod to Spitfire. ❤
And a nod to "'Progress' too I believe!
Up in the air! That's where PSB excels. I'm really looking forward to seeing this done on stage! Congrats folks. Winner!
Another beautiful piece of music
Utterly superb. Brought me out in shivery goosebumps - a lot of PSB material does this ('London Can Take It' always reduces me to tears every damn time - but I have no idea why - it might be the knowledge that, in the Blitz, my maternal grandparents were in the middle of it Gran was an ARP Warden, and Grandad was a Fire-Watcher, sitting in a little metal hut atop one of the Newspaper offices in Fleet Street.) 'Electra' is beautiful, in sound and vision.
Is an Amelia Earhart concept album on the way?
She's still somewhat overdue at Howland Island, I hear...
Yep, They've said on the press release this album is about Amelia Earhart (and is called The Last Flight)
I love this
Wow ! Great surprise ! New music from PSB and back to their classic sound again . I understand why they went in a different direction for a while but I’m well chuffed with this new unexpected track.
Let’s hope that this is a great taster for the rest of their next new album
Wow this is absolutely brilliant!!! The sound that first me fall in love with psb
Just a coincidence I was passing Farnborough airport on first hearing this on six music this morning, turned it up immediately
Man y’all really love writing songs & albums about epic modes of transportation 🎙✈️🚀🚢🛩
Now back up to watch and enjoy! A great PSB track so PSB it ain't true, but it is!!! PSB runs through it like the proverbial stick of rock Looking forwards to the band in Liverpool Jacaranda and all.
Beautiful video.
Video makes the plane look like something out of the 2030s. Welcome back,
Brilliant track, and awesome video!
Love it. Pre-ordered. I’m so glad you guys picked Amelia to honor with this release.
Oh this is glorious. ❤
Fantastic as usual. PSB and aviation...whats not to like. Looking forward to the rest of the album and seeing them live in Aylesbury in October....
Yay! Looking forward to seeing this live later this year! 😎
This is what I mean when I say this is 'PSBHQ.' I love it.
Damn. Makes my hair stand up. Another marvel.
This is gorgeous. 🖤🖤🖤
They somehow get better and better
Yeah. Like…yeah. Loving this.
Is this going to be about amelia airhart???!!!! Same tail number as her lockheed electra. Im so pumped!!!!!!
Back to PSB basics and I am liking this very much
You didn’t like Bright Magic?
Amazing as always!
🥺Its so beautiful
Great stuff
Fantastic. Love the band and love this!
Loving it! Can’t wait for the album now.
I saw a Lockheed Electra do a low flypast over Kirkbride airfield about twenty years ago, an amazing looking aircraft in just bare aluminium, plus an amazing sound from those rotary engines.
So good to have them back!!
Why?
because it is here.
Beautiful! ✈️
Yesssssssssssss The New Noise was my favourite album but this is also amazing ❤✈️🌍
Goosebumps!! 🤩
Music and Aviation Perfect!
Superb. Back to classic PSB form. Oh yes.
The boys are back!! Love it.
Brilliant track and am excited for the new album and tour😊😊👏🏻👏🏻
Mighty indeed - love the drumming on this
Absolutely amazing!! Love it!
FINALLY new music, great stuff guys
Sounds great, looking forward to the new album and tour this autumn…!! ❤🤘
Can't wait to hear this live 🎉🎉🎉
Nailed it, again. Loving this.
Wonderful. Krautrock Electronica with nice nods to their own earlier stuff. New LP pre-ordered, roll on October - album on 4th, gig on 24th. All in one (month), perfect.
Absolutely fantabulous. 😃 Yet another Informative, Educational and Entertaining slice of PSB brilliance with a few nods to previous classics. I have no doubt this will join a growing setlist favourites. I didn't think it would be possible to get even more excited about the new album release. 😱
I saw a Lockheed Electra at an airshow this year. Beautiful aircraft.
You've done it again! This is so, so good.
PSB. The wonderfull work of a musician. And a drummer. 🤣
Very intense!
Fantastic, thanks guys
Hoping for a US leg to be added to the tour. Come to Minneapolis and sell out 1st Ave!
THANK YOU SO MUCH🥺😭🥰🪘🪕🎵🎶 E... L-E-C... T-R-A Wings Body Tail... All in one!!!!!
Superb. Unmistakably PSB and if this is anything to go by the album will be a corker. Can't wait to hear it live. Bravo!
I'm new to PSB and I'm liking what I hear! However I get confused because PSB is also Pet Shop Boys!
No matter: I think I like both, so it's cool ❤
Wonderful!
oh we are SO back!
Fabulous. Love it (as always with PSB stuff)
I'm really happy that I have my ticket for Hamburg. In a smaller club, that will be fantastic. But I think a bigger hall would have been full too.
