In the comments below, everyone is praising Dylan. Why not give some praise to Martha Quinn, the interviewer? It's thanks to her laidback, friendly, intelligent approach and way of questioning that he opened up like that. He felt comfortable and relaxed in her presence. Great work, Martha Quinn!
Bob has such a clear common sense, it´s refreshing :, how he speaks about the music buisness and himself -it ´s a fun to listen him.."I never listen to any records-well I will if the´re on..but I mean I don`t go home..and" I wanted to fill it up more and more (his music)-every note is it´s already there for you " Bob speaks as the lives..that great
Thanks Woolhall! We’re getting closer to the big celebration! I never like this stud with make up on but I love him regardless! Thanks for the memory To my two Bobs!

Ta Woolhall so much and Bob to care to share🙃. This interview shows volumes of how not to hate and just create, absolute good to see Bob talk so free excellent with Martha she is so honest and down to earth. 🙃🙃☕🎂 true blue birthday salute.
@@rachelee73 Oh, I missed something, I only realise now - so sorry! At the moment it's hard to keep up. I have the feeling that YT and the world is exploding in celebrating Bob's 80th! 💘
Actually,,Mr ordinary chap, its my favourite album, I no its a bold statement, but sometimes it's not all about the music, but the ambience, the time it came along, it seems to remind me of American civil war, new Orleans, betrayal, mercinairies, witches, and honour and deciet, the album cover is simply cool, and it was the first time I saw him live, earls Court London, in the early eighties, good times dude. 😎
Yeh I love Street Legal but it does suffer from appalling production in places with instrument levels fluctuating and horrible cut offs etc.Great songs though.
In 1978, I was in tune with many Dylan songs: a la 'Like A Rolling Stone" and "Lay Lady Lay". But hearing "Changing of the Guard", from Street Legal - playing outside "my" college's radio station as I walked through the courtyard one day to class . . . SOLD me on Bobby going forward. And I'm not sure why, except for the constant rhyming masterpiece of songwriting and performance, but the song "No Time To Think" is my current fave from this treasured LP.
The reason Bob Dylan often gave surly interviews is because he was usually asked inane question. I mean seriously, if you listen to some of those old interviews you soon get the picture. But when its about the music, not who’s shagged who, not what do you think about religion, not what do you think about politics, Dylan does engage as can be seen here.
Martha Quinn not only interviewing Bob, she’s actually applying makeup too. This whole thing is surreal 🙂 It does appear that Bob has a shiner under his left eye 👁
He must have liked her... he's being very interactive and not nearly as sarcastic and viscous as he's been known to be with interviewers...good clip! 🔥

Now many might not know but bob Dylan is also a big meditation person he has said himself . I don't meditate but I think it's a reason for his personality and mental strength. Who knows
Entertaining however, the reporter seemed reluctant to ask any real challenging questions. For instance, he starts to talk about how the press exaggerates poor audience reaction. He says it never happened. What a chance to press on the acrimony he experience when he “went electric”. I would have loved to hear a real perspective- although he probably would dismiss any attempt. Softball questions for MTV. Still fun though. Knowing Bob and his track record with the ladies, he decided to be nice.
My 1st record was a Xmas present from my dad when I was 7 it was The Times they are a changing ... I know more about Bob Dylan than I want to. Tom Petty thought he was God. Tom Petty didn't know how good he himself was. Thank god for the Travelling Wilburys. Jacob Dylan his son is an incredibly armoured person with good reason. I do think Dylan deserved the Nobel Prize for literature. As a human being, jury is out but I am not wasting time on it. The number of people he hurt or discarded is legion and tired of all this rubbish.
He's also being slick, because the acts he mentions... ha has a financial interest in. You think he's just replying to questions but his answers promote bands that he has a financial investment in. Watch for that in Bob Dylan interviews.
@@axeljameson9097 Albert Grossman was Dylan's manager but was also the manager for other bands. Grossman would make it financially beneficial for Dylan to promote other bands that Grossman promoted, like the Sir Douglas Quintet, A latino one-hit-wonder band from Texas.
Great interview guess it’s before he stopped talking to the media. How many times does he need to answer the same questions. I think make up is for the tour he’s on.

Years ago, I read that Bob's son Jesse was dating Quinn at the time. Maybe that's why Bob was so cordial and generous with his time.
It's because he wanted to bang her lol.
I think Bob has said more in this interview than in all the others on youtube put together!
I can speak for myself. I have changed. My life has changed after seeing Bob for the first time

Thank you Bob for all of your caring musical gifts! God bless Bob and everyone

Terrific! Bob is so open and relaxed here.
Not even halfway through his career ..."I've been around soooo long" -Dylan
Haven’t seen him that talkative before

It's true: Street Legal is a very good record. The sound is great. And apparently it was under appreciated... Only, not by me.

The jumped the shark period. Zebra stripes and mascara are a dead giveaway. But still real and dripping wisdom. Legend.
According to Bob's shirt it's the 80s
'is this liquid eyeliner that your using?' 'NO'
I never thought I’d see Dylan gushing over Peter Wolf 🤷♂️

He looks like Alice Cooper here!
This is a nice relaxed interview with some good information. Pity the video quality and sound is so poor
Awesome!!

So he said he likes space in records, but he was trying to fill up the sound in Infidels/trying to make a full record? What's he saying?
whats the music video with the people in hats
