Pixel AI features are better and cheaper to attain
If anyone already got the phone and notice their slow-mo playback is not working in gallery, it only works on a video shot with H.264 codec not in hevc. You can change this by going on the camera app, video, settings, advanced video options.

The search feature is already on S23 anyway, just open Google assistant by swiping from the bottom corner and tap on anything on screen, I use it all the time. Don't get the whole debate about circle to search, it's just Google lens done differently.

I have the search option on the s21 ultra... Circle to search is a gimmick.
I don't believe the Google lens works in the camera app tho. That part stood out to me that you don't actually have to take a photo to search it just have it on the screen. Plus it seemed to be fast

Hi there, very usefull, only our language (dutch) is not available for transcript, not in phone translate, not in notes, not in summarys. Any idea when Dutch language will be available?
They are working on bringing more languages. I'm waiting for Arabic too. I was disappointed that there weren't more languages from the get go. But let's hope they bring more soon!

You once showed us how you could make UA-cam application to automatically default to landscape when it opens. I have decided I want to switch it back to portrait upon opening. Can you refresh me on how to switch it back??
I use gboard, but I like using the Samsung keyboard ever now and then. However my keyboard navigation bar button is not showing. Hopefully it's a glitch they will fix.
By default, live translation using a female voice. If you are male, you could switch to a man voice so people on the other side are not confused.
Are any of these features going to be updated to the s23 Ultra?

Thanks for this incredibly valuable video. People will not remember 95% of the video an hour after watching it, but the remaining 5% they will remember, is the most important, and why they will bookmark this video.
- What is unusually valuable is you showed there is a single area on the phone where these features are listed. That is not an expectation people have. Their expectation is for them to be scattered throughout the interface and forever discovering features they wish they had known about before, or did, but didn't know how to leverage them. You also highlight and address the few not in that location.
- You touch on each one to explain what they are and do a simple demonstration. This draws the relationship between the buzzword and its capabilities. As they use their phone, that knowledge will enable them to see various situations where they can leverage those capabilities in their day-to-day. That would never have happened without watching this video or one like it first.
- I don't mind you talking 100 mph. I can pause, take time to think, and try a variation of what you said that might turn out to be an advantage for me.
- I appreciate the lack of the noisome verbal diarrhea that characterizes so many videos.

A Google lens shortcut is not an AI feature
I'm still rocking the note 20. But this just convinced me to upgrade.
If we do end up having to pay for this AI , they said END of 2025 ... that would be a FULL 2 years ... not 1 year like many are saying. Regardless, I hope that by then, they change their minds .

Honestly I still think it’s crap and I’m sick of subscription models on extremely expensive tech.

I think you missed my favourite feature. Auto translate on WhatsApp. It automatically translates what people send you right under the original text.

That's what they are saying. Tbh these features are cool. But if I'm gonna pay for them I'm gonna want allot more features. I was hoping for a feature that could read text to me. But I haven't been able to find one.
No it is not true. They are not committing to it being free AFTER 2025, almost 2 years after their release. Some are for services from expensive computers on the Internet. Some are for royalties that need to be paid to compensate the people who invested their lives and money to make them. They need to recoup their investment and make money to continue making phones and pushing the boundaries. Samsung stops getting paid the day they sell you the phone. They have competition from Google who makes YOU the product. They probably do not have enough information themselves to determine where things will settle out 2 years from now. In the mean time they are saying that they are risking committing to cover these expenses for almost 2 years. They are also managing expectations. If they said nothing, that implies free forever. If they cannot or do not want to continue supporting and expanding these features after that, people would call foul, which has reputational and possibly legal implications, both of which have a financial impact for Samsung.

Vast majority of AI features will be coming in the 6.1 update in March to the S23 Ultra. BTW, Sammy will be charging you next year in 2025. I hope y'all read the fine print.

This is hilarious. Samsung is saying they have AI features in this phone that can do things the phones older phones already do I guess without AI. Like circle to search is the same Google lense with a gesture. AI is just the buz word they are using to sell products.

hmmm... I tried the translation on a voice call and it came up with complete gibberish.. English to French you would think would be one of their better combinations, but it was beyond terrible. It did not even recognise what i was saying in English.

I hope all those features come to the S23 Plus that i have eventually. Other than the UI upgreadde the s23 plus is pretty much the same as the S24 plus. I know Samsung or google may charge for it after 2025. I'll have to see which features i will actually use and the cost at that time whether i want to pay it. I also don't know what the S24 series of phones would be like if someone who has one wouldn't want to pay it either.

The integration of translation is great but they forget them most the world (Asia, India... ) don't use SMS and phone call but super app like Line/wechat and social media like Facebook messager (I'm talking bout 97% makertshare is some Asian contry) so they NEED to be compatible to this app.
Translation in phone call is realy primitive... I speak French and even in your example the AI make mistake, and the text to speech it's not at the current standard compare to Amazon Polly or IBM Watson for example.
Even if it come with a subscription service (beaucoup you can't actually run this AI models on consumer smartphone or PC.. ) I will be OK to take the subscription as long as samsung provide a good service and allow customisation. Why not launch an Android/iOS app and closer integration for Galaxy users?

I noticed your battery life decreased from 53% at beginning of your video to 34% within 14 minutes. This is exactly the problem that I always have with these phones. AI features are very cool, but battery life suffers from it. Developers should be more focused on this in my opinion.

Paying may not be that bad depending upon how much they charge. For example, If it's about $1.99 per month I wouldn't be mad. If it's more then probably not.

"may" being the operative word. Samsung doesn't know how things will play out 2 years from now. That phrase is there to manage expectations so if they charge they don't get the market blow-back, and possibly legal blow-back, by not being up front. Nothing is free, unless you are the product. The reason Chromium is open source and Chrome is not, is because Chrome adds features for which Google needs an ROI, some of which they are paying royalties and support for because they aren't even theirs.

If they r subscriptions n not features, they should be up front n not bury it in a footnote. I can manage my own expectations as n informed consumer. To hide it in preorder, not have the courtesy to say what “features” will be a a subscription or how much is unscrupulous.
The ai features are being handed out to s23 users for free. This makes upgrading to the s24 pointless! I just upgrade and never would have had I know these features were exclusive to the s24 model. The display issues just recently being fixed the down grade in the camera zoom camera quality is any better between these models. There is just not enough internally to make the upgrade worth it.

Is it really ai? Artificial intelligence? I think not. Just buzz words for standard software and software to phone home what you are doing
Well apparently certain AI features are only free until the end of 2025 which probably means there licensed and Samsung will have to pay for them. Its very unlikely they will pay it themselves so it will probably be a subscription for users and if turns out its not real AI and if it cost them nothing to implement then people are gunna be pissed off being charged for it.
Samsung doesn't refer to it as Artificial Intelligence. They refer to it as Advanced Intelligence. Artificial intelligence is just a buzzword. It does have programs that have the ability to efficiently record and categorize inputs that it uses to adjust various processes based on prior usage. In that regard that is not that different than what you and I do. We have benefited from Bayesian Statistics to classify spam for years. It "learns" from you initially, but also uses that to make decisions about messages having completely different content. You might not be interested in specials going on at Victoria's Secret but your wife might be so it adjusts not only for Victoria's Secret but also similar. Spammers with human intelligence spend their time devising ways around them. You tell your spam filter it is spam, and the spam filter incorporates new information to use to filter future messages.
Keep in mind the operative word "Artificial". AI will never be a match the human brain that has the ability to make it. However, if it can be turned into a repetitive task as anti-spam programs do with Bayesian Statistics, a computer can do it faster, more accurately, and more consistently. What is so different about the S24 is never in the history of cell phones have we seen so many capabilities deployed in a single release of a phone, that has revolutionized expectations for the management of the processes internally of the cell phone, and our interaction with the outside world. At the same time it eclipsed everything else out there from a hardware perspective and standard capabilities, plus the commitment to support it with upgrades for 7 years. This is a combination that even the Pixel does not match. Everyone else is calling it Artificial Intelligence. Samsung does not.
