Paris 2024, let's hope Romania will be a gymnastics powerhouse once more, their junior program is on fire
It's depend on their coaching's staff, government's financial support to keep their gymnasts healthy and the program itself. If Romania still follow western concept no medals no money, well it's could be the end of the story.
No chance sadly. The realistic objective is qualifying the team and maybe getting a couple of medals. No way Romania can come back so fast. Also, there were some promising juniors competing in the last olympic cycles (munteanu, golgota and others) but they quit early or didn't confirm.
Romanians of the four corners of the world, now or never, Unite in thought, unite in feeling!! 🇷🇴

Congratulation to the girls... Apparently they were amongst the only few Romanian Olympians that took their competing efforts (hard work, sacrifice and dedication) serious. 95% percent of all the other, I'm guessing, went as tourists for sight seeing...
Shame! For a country where competing at the highest Olympic levels was a way of life, we've fallen almost close to the bottom.

Romania is now losing their glory. They used to be in top 10 and as well as Hungary. And also Cuba's Women's Volleyball, what happened?
Russia too...they slipt into 5 place behind the Brits, coz they failed in RG (both categories), Women's Handball, and Men's Volleyball at the last finals days.
Cuba is already fall since 2002 and no longer consider as powerhouse in Volleyball's World. Romanian gymnastic is jokes nowsday coz of their system and lack of fund and government's support who still have no interest on it at all, they follow western concept "no medal no money", that why USA still dominating in Swimming, coz more medal more money and more event and they still dominate at WAG too even they lost to ROC in team event. No countries would invest and pouring more fund to one particular sport with less events and less medals on offer at Olympic Game, with the exception Russian RG and AS (Artistic Swimming) If IOC agree to put 5 event of AS and 5 in RG, we already know who would win most of the events, but It's not gonna happen until Russia no longer dominating those sports.
Huge decline in too many sports that used to bring lots of medals: athletics, gymnastics, swimming, canoe sprint. Hungary has a few sports where they are a force: canoe, fencing, swimming. Romania only has rowing.
