Great memories . Yesterday I had someone ask me how long I’ve been flying hang gliders and I casually said 41 years. Watching this really made that settle in.
@grocersphones I've been flying over 46 yrs. Joe Greglo and Rich Grigsby taught me to fly way back in Oct of 1978 at Dockweiler Beach, about a mile south of LAX.
I finally bagged that bucket list flight with a fully mature bald eagle on that ridge on the right you can see from the launch a few days ago, rode the ridge thermal; up with this magnificent bird for a while on my paraglider. Thanks for posting! This spot is CHURCH! Our pilots have reached Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada launching Crestline.
@@weflyuniv Just got done launching a very strong wind day with the hangliders at Crestline on a paraglider! These videos are a treat even though I just spent a couple of hours looking at the same terrain.
I remember seeing this. I also flew Marshall Peak, Crestline, and the old launch site west of billboard. My first verio and cacoon harness was Andy Jackson's. He sold them to me when he quit flying. I also store my wing at the old LZ, where his (mobile home) shop was.
First start of the video, I'm like, gee, that sure looks familiar! I'm a paraglider and hanglider pilot. This is literally my backyard. I live right down the street from the launch. Playground in the sky on Playground Drive.

You trained with the best. Greblo was a great model of professionalism for me and one of my heroes.

It was the window to unlimited airtime.
