And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness. And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen

David's character or personality did please God well!!! He desires God every day in all kind of situations he were. He choose the house of God over any others palaces, he sang for God out of soul and heart, he loved God with his all being as well suppose!!! Don't you wish to be David if you get chance? Who doesn't!!! Pleasing in everything the creator of everything! David was like man truely fall in love with his woman. Man when he is truely in love with woman will do anything to please his woman! Mostly many men are successful pleasing their woman well when they're truely in love with them. Because men know how to please by even going to the very end part of the world by fighting the whole world for their women if its needed. That's David how he were towards God and his people! He was more than willing to die for his people when he face Goliath. Even though he knew God won't him fail. Such impressive faith and love!!! As he honored his people and God, God honored him by giving him the throne over Israel. And David paid God back by praising God before his people he was ruling to the point he got naked. His was disrespected him for that. And she couldn't get child till she die. Now, as we are in such lower part of this world, can we praising God to David's point??? He was king when he did what he did before his people he was ruling. Can we while we are not even half way closed to his throne? David were before chirst( his and our God) born. I don't know what he would do for God if he were after Jesus born. I know David saw Jesus from distance. And he was so excited about it. But still he never God the chance to see what Moses and Elijah saw on the mountain. What an amazing love???!!! The deeper I go about David the more I get so empressed and jealous!!!
David was such a praiser .......that no matter what stands his way.......He will dwell in the House Of God FOREVER!!!
All people seek to please God must study David's life. Their are so much to learn. I'm not saying to copy David's actions. No! Because David did what he had done out of love. We can't pretend to be anyone. But learning his life can help us see what God like and does not like, what makes God happy and not happy,... David is mirror for us to see God very clearly. We see his mercy over David when he sin against God. The way he repented was perfect example for us. But as I said with out Love its impossible to do 1% os David's deeds. He waa so connected to God! His soul and God's soul were like true lovers. No one impress me like David! He was very powerful man that we all should take him as best example!

I was reading 2 Samuel 6 this morning on my devotion time and I just remembered this song and this scene. So powerful. I wanna dance for the LORD like David danced!
You can ! focus on Yahweh, forget about those around. Pray first , of course. I cried and cried to Yahweh for the dance to worship Him. And that others would have the liberty to worship Him. I never learned to dance and I was very, very self conscious. But the Lord heard my cries and He blessed me so that I can bless. Him.

Upon first ever reading this story and even watching this I believe David's wife was jealous of his zeal and love for The Living God
I think she was embarrased about other women seeing the king almost naked. She didn't understand.
No she was contemptuous towards him, because she felt it was her father Saul who should have had the limelight and was far more dignified than David..she also always resented David because she felt he was a mere commoner who was not worth of the throne her father sat on, but saw people preferred David to her father Saul who was the king at the time.

The bible says many things that sometimes aren't the easiest to catch on, but I think Mikal didn't like David not having more attention to her and resented him putting God first. And remember, she didn't have any children for the rest of her life so she must have sinned against the Lord also.

Though they depict him as naked in the movie, he was actually wearing a linen ephod (2 Samuel 6:14). He took away his royal garments and put on the clothing of a priest, humbling himself since he was the king, dancing as worship without shame, with all his might. It was a legalistic comment his wife made, due to him having danced among servants.
