Yes, but these words were not written in the Bible, so it would be dangerous to place your faith in something that is not the Word of God. "I am rejected by others." If this is a cry of self-pity, then it is just another expression of the desire for self-exaltation, which is sin. It's as if we say in ourselves, "I'm really a great person, but others don't recognize my greatness." And then we lament how we are mistreated, because our greatness is not recognized. If Jesus would encourage that self-pity in any way, He would be sanctioning our sin. It would be better if a person lamented their own sin problems, and how they had lost any hope of self-greatness. If they knew that goodness does not come from within themselves, then they are ready to receive goodness from another source: that is, Jesus. The Law is our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ. That's the only ground for repentance: a knowledge of our own wretchedness, combined with a vision of God's goodness. Because the Samaritan woman found Christ (in her heart), she must have had a conviction of her own sinfulness, and was already looking for a Messiah. That's why Jesus could approach her, because He was answering the desire that the Holy Spirit had placed within her...a desire for a greater goodness than that which she possessed. Therefore, we can safely conclude that the Samaritan woman was not likely to be so concerned about the rejection of herself by others (if indeed they did reject her...which is not clear from the Scriptures). She would rather have rejected herself, as a source of goodness.
Such an incredible scene. The part that hits me is when Jesus says "I came all the way to Samaria for you." It is incredible how Jesus reaches each of of us individually and makes us a part of His plan!

Hi everyone. I just want to remind you that in the Bible we actually have few verses in the Bible that describes the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:14 "His head and his hair were white as wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire" Daniel 7:9 "his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool" But unfortunately the devil managed to twist that. Most images, movies and depictions of Christ are indeed always a white man which generally bear no resemblance to the biblical description. We must be very careful not to participate in idolatry, because it is a very serious sin to misrepresent the Lord. May God be with us, amen.
@@Th.22183 Revelation 1:4 is the description of the glorified Christ. Not his pre-resurrection earthly body. The scripture says of him, "there is nothingly comely of him that we would desire him..." And this actor is not Caucasian. You are incorrect.

My wife and I prayed for a son for 10 years. We were told it can’t happen and gave up. My wife *BELIEVED* and said she could see his face. 10 years later she gets pregnant. We can’t believe it. We go in and the the sonogram shows a mass in her Uterus and the chances of the baby surviving were almost nothing. I went home and in silence without my wife around, I fell on my knees in the shower, naked and with nothing. I pushed my face as low to the ground as I could, groveling at the feet of the Lord. I begged. One week later we went back for more sonograms and the mass was *GONE* . The Doctor was physically shook. He said in his lengthy career he has never seen such a thing. My boy is now 2 and tugging on my leg asking for me to make popcorn as I type this. If our God is for us, who can stand against us?

It definitely does. When Nathanael tells Judas, as Jesus is pairing up the apostles to go out and preach, that even though he's new, he got to listen to the best sermon. Jesus gives him the "oh, really" look and then Thomas taps Nathanael as if to say "what were you thinking?" it was so funny. Nathanael was like "I don't know..."
The faith, desperation, and desire for salvation in her voice when she asks “you promise?” Is truly a feeling every single one of us has felt. Melts me every single time.
Jesus: "I came to Samaria just to meet you. Do you think it's an accident that I'm here in the middle of the day?" Woman at the well: "I am rejected by others." Jesus: "I know, but not by the Messiah." Gets me every time.
@@AC-mp7cx I disagree with you. Jesus may not say the exact words "I am God", but that doesn't mean He never says it in another way. He shows it by the claims He makes of Himself, His actions, raising Himself from the dead (John 2:19; 21), going to return on the clouds of heaven (attributes that belong to God), forgiving sins (Luke 7:40-48), being One with the Father (John 10:20), He called Himself the Alpha and Omega just like the Father is Alpha and Omega (Revelation 21:6 for the Father, Revelation 22:12-13 for the Son), the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. There is so much more as well. He is before all things (Colossians 1:17), He raises the dead (Luke 7:11-17) Also the Father Himself calls Jesus God in Hebrews 1:8-9. He also talks about how Jesus created everything and how Jesus doesn't change and is Eternal in Hebrews 1:10-12. Jesus receives worship in Luke 24:52, John 9:38 and never rebukes anyone for doing so. One of His deisciples calls Him "my Lord and my God" in John 20:28-29. There is so much more I could give you. Also, in the Old Testament The Messiah is described as Yahweh in human form. There is a lot to be said about Jesus. Too long to put in this thread.
@@AC-mp7cx Most people in today’s time and culture are looking for Jesus to give the answer in a way that modern readers are looking for. Today people are looking for that kind of answer. They want Jesus to say the exact words “I am God.” But Jesus says it in a way for His audience back in His time to understand what He is saying about Himself. So just because you don’t see Him saying “I am God” in the way we modern people would want Him to say it, doesn’t mean that He didn’t claim it. He claimed it in a way for people in His time to understand. That’s why it’s good to dig deeper than what we read on the surface and look into their culture back in that time, look into the words that they used back in that time and how it has deeper meaning than what modern English speakers mean. There is a lot to look into than just what we read on the surface but the more we look into it, the more we can understand what He is saying to the people of His time in the Jewish context.

In my opinion this is one of the most underrated scenes from the bible. Out of all people the first person that Jesus chose to reveal himself to was a woman who was a person who came from a people that the Jewish people rejected. That speak more volume about the message he brought to the world than any other. The message is not just for the faithful but for those who are forgotten by most of us.

In the eyes of the Jewish people back then their people were sinful violent people who worshiped god in ways that did not agree with the law of Moses. You also have to remember that back then a woman who was divorced was seen as disgraceful and she herself had been divorced five times. Now place yourself in her shoes rejected by everyone around you yet the savior of the world, foretold by your ancestors for centuries, says you are worthy and blessed by god.

What I find so significant about the Samaritans in the gospel of John is that they merely met Jesus- it doesn't say he performed any miracles for them- and they believed in him. Yet, the religious leaders in Judea who saw miracle after miracle rejected him. Some things never change.
God Bless! Have a great week and may you always grow in your relationship with God, The Holy Spirit, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Praying for you and your family!
Another thing that saddens me, is that so many Christians reject the Palestinians of Samaria to this day. When she said to Him, "Our forefather Jacob gave us this well.", Jesus did not dispute her statement. Indeed, at another time when the Pharisees called Jesus a demon possessed Samaritan, He did not dispute that He was a Samaritan. He was from Nazareth after all. The Samaritans were among the first Christians and they never left Palestine. Why do so many people who profess to be Christians endorse the oppression and genocide in Samaria?
My wife is on the way home. Watched this scene and started weeping. Trying to dry my eyes and compose myself so she wouldn’t know I was crying. Man this is too well done. And how amazing that it is true that Jesus goes to any length to reach and save us.
@Delon Lawrence Your love for Jesus is unquestionable. Jesus however is a Prophet of God. Jesus is God's sent Messiah. ".... *TO MY GOD and YOUR GOD* " ME and YOU 👉 *WE* *WE WORSHIP* THE ONLY TRUE GOD - THE FATHER who is THE GOD OF ME (Jesus) and YOU 👉 *OUR GOD* And Jesus answered him, THE FIRST OF ALL the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord *OUR GOD* is one Lord Mark 12:29 Jesus teaches: “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and *HIM ONLY* shalt thou serve” Luke 4:8. Notice the words: “HIM ONLY.” Jesus did not say “US only,” or “Him and I only.” How could he possibly i it more clear than that? Jesus told to worship ONLY THE FATHER - who is THE GOD of Jesus too.

This is how I imagine Jesus to be. Charismatic, witty, sharp and unconditionally kind. I really need to spend more time with him one on one. I haven't spoken with him in such a long time. Maybe that's why he brought me here. He wants me to speak with him and wants me to know that he is always there. Patient and ready to listen.
I normally dont comment, but i have always related to the Woman at the well, Im adopted and felt so rejected by my birth parents, I grew up without many friends. And i had a hard heart. I felt unclean, and worthless. Until I encountered Jesus and his Living water. He saw me. And chose me to follow him. And he calls me his daughter.
Me too. My father was an alcoholic and my mother rejected me. I thought it was my fault that they could not show love to me, that it was because I was flawed. I felt alone and ashamed. I lived my life from this belief that I was unworthy of love. I rejected good and worthy men and went with ones who were as wounded as me. Pray for me that I can receive the love and light of Christ.
Notice how Jesus always Frees people emotionally from the guilt and shame game the religious people place upon them! They always walk away dancing, joyful and full of Life! Not Guilt or Shame as many in the church will do to people... Stay Free, Stay Happy it's a gift from God! ❤
I would say my personal highlight of this scene is how equal the conversation is. He’s a teacher to most people but in this situation, he’s simply trying to give hope to a broken woman. He’s consistently addressing her thoughts and doubts in a non-condescending manner and treating her like an intelligent human being.

I love how this story happens on two levels at the same time. The natural conversation - which the woman is talking on - and the spiritual conversation which Jesus is speaking on. He ministers to her personally and her story is real - but she a Adulterous Samaritan woman is also being used at the same time to represent all of Samaria - the lost tribes of Jacobs son Josephs lineage who were formerly the northern Kingdom of Israel but cutoff from the Southern kingdom of Judah and God and conquered by Assyria for ........ spiritual adultery and worship of other Gods. See 2 kings 17:7 (Thus the meeting taking place at Jacobs well in the lands granted to Joseph and the two tribes named after his sons Ephraim and Manesseh). She is being used as a "parable" to represent Jesus coming to redeem Josephs lineage - the Samaritans who received the Holy Spirit after his resurrection. When ever a man meets a woman at a well in the bible the man who meets the woman ...... is the husband. (Jakob and Leah, Isaac and Rebecca, Moses and Zipporah) When Jesus asks her to go and bring her husband - this is symbololically very important. On the natural level hes talking about her human husband. But on the spiritual level hes talking about himself. God. The northern Kingdom of Israel - Saramaria - spiritual husband - YWHW. As Paul put it ...... "A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord."

After hearing that I had no place to stay she offered me a room for the night. When I got in the car I asked where she lived, it was about an hour away and 1 street from where my mum lived. I had not been in contact with my mum for over a year. The nurse drove me to my mum’s house, to see if she would take me in, which she did. I will never forget the gratitude I felt that night having a bed to sleep in and roof over my head. For the past 25yrs I’ve visited that statue a number of times. On the most recent visit an old lady who lived at the village saw me at the statue. I told her the story of what happened that night. She asked me if I knew what the Good Shepard statue represented, which I did not. After finding out, it completely made sense and was like the final piece of the puzzle I’d been looking for all those years as to why my prayers where answered that night
I am deeply moved by how Jesus came and called out all sinners. No one is unworthy to come before God, if you are willing to accept His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ His one and only begotten Son. Our Lord and Saviour.
Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic. He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on. "He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays. Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo. The sun enters into each sign of the zodiac at 30 degrees, hense, the "Sun of God" begins his ministry at "age" 30. The sun is hung on a cross or "crucified", which represents its passing through the equinoxes. The vernal equinox being Easter, at which time it is then resurrected. The reason why saviour myths are so similar with a godman who is crucified and resurrected, who does miracles and has 12 disciples, is that these stories were based on the movements of the sun through the heavens, an astrotheological development that can be found throughout the planet, because the sun and the 12 zodiac signs can be observed around the globe. In other words, Jesus Christ and all the others upon whom this character is predicated are personifications of the sun, and the Gospel fable is merely a rehash of a mythological formula revolving around the movements of the sun throug the heavens.

Hebrews 4:14-16 Jesus the Great High Priest Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

@@Th.22183 These descriptions of Christ, that you have quoted, are visions of His divine qualities. When Christ came as a man, he took a common humanity with us. His clothing was not "white as snow" but simple robes as were worn in that time period, with the exception that the robe he had (at least on the cross) was one-piece, without seam...which was symbolic of His righteousness, which does not have a thread of human devising patching it together. The physical appearance of Jesus is not so important. It's His character that we should admire. Nobody really knows exactly what Jesus (or any of the apostles and prophets) actually looked like. If it had been important, God would have preserved it. But the humanity is just the vessel...it's the treasure within that is important. Therefore, there is a much greater risk of idolatry in holding false ideas of the character of Christ...since that is His divinity, and it is mistakes in that area which constitute blasphemy and idolatry. The real question then, is not about the physical appearance portrayed in this film, since nobody can say what that was like; but is the character presented accurate? According to the text of the Bible on this story, it's fairly accurate. There are some words added that are not in the Bible text, but they go along with the thoughts that the Bible presents.
I came here in the middle of the night and couldn’t sleep, this message is exactly what I needed, it lifted all my terrible feelings. Thank you so much for this show.

@@Gamefan86 You are out of left field on this. The prophecies of the Old Testament support the life of Christ in all its facets, there is no need to resort to astrology. You cannot prove your theories from the Word of God. It reminds me a bit of some of the wild speculations that the so-called Church Fathers resorted to, who mixed Christian words with heathen philosophy. The fall of man is clearly presented in Genesis 3. The issue was believing God's word, and His love and goodness, or cherishing doubt in His goodness and following the fallen angel Satan (formerly Lucifer), who became so proud of his own beauty that he thought God was oppressing him by not giving him the privileges that the Angel of the Lord had. This "Angel of the Lord" was none other than the Son of God: not known as "Jesus" at that time, but known by another name. Would man let God exalt him, in God's way? or would he follow Satan, and try to take a shortcut, and exalt himself and his wisdom instead? So the issue is obedience to God's law, based on a conviction of His love and truthfulness: that He does everything to raise us up, and that His law is designed for our benefit and blessing, not to oppress us. Man, having lost the approval of God, and the power of God, seeks every other way to get approval: praise for doing great things; money power; rulership over others; secret schemes to exalt self. And if that fails, then we look to movies to exalt us in our imagination. We identify with the "hero" of the movie, and beat down our enemies, in imagination. This is also a type of self-exaltation. The truth that man is out of sync with the Law of God, explains every problem in this world today. Man, having turned the spiritual life that was in him into death, through disobedience, has no way to bring himself back to life. Only the Life-giver could come to pay the price that the Law demanded, and therefore open a way to take away the sin, and give man a new life. This is the gospel plan, which was foretold right after the fall ("the seed of the woman should bruise the serpent's head") and in every other sacrifice offered in the Old Testament. That God would give His only begotten Son, proves that Satan's lies were false. God was not raising himself up at our expense; His law was not designed to oppress us. No heathen would have invented such a system. Heathen systems of religion, and even corrupted Christianity, all seek self-exaltation, or self-justification, in one form or another. They promote self-salvation. Since the Bible therefore so accurately reads the weakness of man, it cannot have come from a merely human source.
My favorite part of this scene...all fantastic....is when he says it doesn't matter where u come from or what u ha e done. As long as you believe in God and Jesus they will hear you wherever you are. Beautiful.

@@Yellow-Roseso do you think Jesus was this super serious non-approchable dude who never laughed, never socialized, never had a good time? One of my most favourite scenes! Finally her story came alive for me, a liberation to worship God anywhere with no restriction to time and place...must have been such a deep joy for the Samaritan woman! Brought me to tears, oh the Love of God for us!
Good morning Dallas. Today the Eastern Orthodox Church celebrates Photine, the woman at the well, the Samaritan Woman. And you did a marvelous job of portraying her and her story, in my opinion. Thank you for all the work you do with The Chosen. My family loves the show!!! May God bless you and your family and the staff of The Chosen 💙 🙏

I prayed last night for the very first time in a long time. He answered me immediately the following day. I go into people's homes for work, and the first Job of my day, (the day after I prayed) was at the home of a pastor. I prayed for a foundation I prayed for guidance. And the pastor was no coincidence. My faith is restored! Amen.
He loves you SO much. Whenever you feel despair, doubt, or like you’re alone He is always listening to you, and there with you. You’re SO loved by him. I thank God he answered your prayers and that your faith is renewed! God bless you, keep your eyes on Jesus, even in the midst of the world around falling apart around you. “In this life you will have trouble, but take heart, for I have overcome the world.” He is your strength and He knows you like no other and you are his precious child. God bless you! Love you!

Hi everyone. I just want to remind you that in the Bible we actually have few verses in the Bible that describes the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:14 "His head and his hair were white as wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire"
Daniel 7:9 "his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool"
But unfortunately the devil managed to twist that. Most images, movies and depictions of Christ are indeed always a white man which generally bear no resemblance to the biblical description.
We must be very careful not to participate in idolatry, because it is a very serious sin to misrepresent the Lord. May God be with us, amen.

He is before all things (Colossians 1:17), He raises the dead (Luke 7:11-17)
Also the Father Himself calls Jesus God in Hebrews 1:8-9.
@@joshmeyers67 why would God not say clearly, the most important fact of the world
@@AC-mp7cx Most people in today’s time and culture are looking for Jesus to give the answer in a way that modern readers are looking for.

He learn some of the secrets from his rabbi and use the powers that jews are forbidden from using !
And that's how he did what he did...
Jesus was one of the simple student's, he wasn't in any measure even a mediocre student as far as we know.
And we know the power of the best students of this generation of that time...
Jesus was a swindler who's use some of the secrets he learn and made a lot of people to do his bidding.
His rabbi told him to repent and come back , but he didn't listen...
And that's the problem with us jews... the moment one of our students go astray , he have the potential to take with him the whole humanity...
As for Jesus did...
So sad !
What I find so significant about the Samaritans in the gospel of John is that they merely met Jesus- it doesn't say he performed any miracles for them- and they believed in him. Yet, the religious leaders in Judea who saw miracle after miracle rejected him.
Some things never change.

This is how I imagine Jesus to be. Charismatic, witty, sharp and unconditionally kind. I really need to spend more time with him one on one. I haven't spoken with him in such a long time. Maybe that's why he brought me here. He wants me to speak with him and wants me to know that he is always there. Patient and ready to listen.

He loves you Lauren period!!!!!
Absolutely. He was calling you back to him. It’s never a coincidence. ❤
That's beautiful.
This video was less than ten minutes long… Just imagine being this woman and having your life change in so little time. Truly amazing.

I would say my personal highlight of this scene is how equal the conversation is. He’s a teacher to most people but in this situation, he’s simply trying to give hope to a broken woman. He’s consistently addressing her thoughts and doubts in a non-condescending manner and treating her like an intelligent human being.
I love how Jesus says, "I know Jacob." Present tense.
I haven seen this scene at least 6 times and I can't believe that I'm crying over the beautiful execution of this scene! It steals your breath away to know that he sees all that you've done and he still loves and wants-- you! I'm perfectly imperfect.

Why are you "grateful" to a group that blasphemes God by rewriting the Bible?
Christianity began as sun worship, the stories about Jesus are symbolic.
He is just a personification of the sun, made into a god figure later on.
The sun "dies" for 3 days on December 22nd, the winter solstice, when it stops its movement south, to be born again or resurrected on December 25th, when it resumes its movement north.
In some areas, the calendar originally began in the constellation of Virgo, and the sun would therefore be "born of a Virgin"
The sun rising in the morning is "the saviour of mankind"
The sun is "The light of the World"
The sun "walks on water" is just the reflection of the sun on water/the sea.
"He cometh on clouds, and every eye shall see him", is just sun rays.
Jesus' "crown of thorns" is just the sun's glare, also know as a halo.
The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
I absolutely adore this scene. " I came to Samaria just to meet you" so heartfelt.

Does it trouble you at all that those words (and most of the words in this depiction) don't occur in the actual Biblical account of this encounter? I understand that many people are unfamiliar with the Biblical texts, but as someone who is familiar with them, it's disconcerting to see so many people say that the part of this scene that moves them the most is a part that the Bible doesn't say (or even imply) ever happened.

@@narasimhashelar6745 an angel was sent to me. It was a nurse from the retirement village where the church was. She literally stopped her car in the rain on an empty street in the middle of the night to ask me what I was doing there.

@@Gamefan86 that makes absolutely no sense at all.
I was quietly weeping while watching this. I am lost of words because the Lord is full of grace, love, and mercy. Thank you, God! 🙏

It's a movie, it never happend.
Beautiful.

The sun's "followers", "helpers" or "disciples" are the 12 months and the 12 signs of the zodiac or constellations, through which the sun must pass.
The sun at 12 noon is in the house or temple of the "Most High": thus.."he" begins "his Father's work" at "age" 12.
