Grew up there. Before Microsoft, Bellevue, Kirkland etc lovely places to live. Now expensive like LA. Would love to move home, sadly the cost is prohibitive. Also...convenience store sort of creepy......big brother esq. for y'all who get my drift.
I feel you.. I was born and raised in seattle and I'm not going to be able to even stay here because of all the people hellbent on turning this into the next LA
I live in Washington, but I live in Woodinville. It’s not expensive here at all, because it’s about 45 minutes from Seattle and from Bellevue. Just far enough to be able to go visit the city, but not have to deal with all of the expensive stuff.
Ditto. Grew up in Seattle before Amazon and Microsoft destroyed it. Left in 1994. Came back for vaca in 1919. Broke my heart. Cost of living is off the charts. And, how does Seattle justice so many homeless!! Shame on you!
i got to say the endless adventure!! i never miss an episode, no matter how bad or good things are going on in my life they are always there to show you the rest of the world is out there and we all have good days and bad ones, bring on the next vid guys, you rock!! :)
That Amazon store seems super creepy with all the surveillance and tracking. I agree with Matt when he said the store is scary. But yes it's convenient! That would be good in an airport though because it takes so long for people to ring up stuff in the little stores.
I actually think groceries in the US are expensive for the same salad I‘d pay about 5€ in my country (tax included) I‘d never pay 10$ for a premade salad if I can get a super freshly made one at the restaurant for 12€
You have to think of the location that these particular convenience stores are in. Certain areas of the country throughout have more expensive pricing (such as certain areas of California, Washington State, New York City... Etc) versus others as you travel across the US.🙂✈️
While some jobs will get replaced by technology (as we already see happening) more jobs will be introduced in different areas. Particularly STEM, this is why it is such a strong subject in most schools now.
When we were in Chicago earlier this year we also visited the Amazon store for the first time. It felt so strange to just put things in your bag and walk out. Thank goodness they had employees to help us along the way as we were totally lost.
Love your guys videos, beautiful cinematography and editing and I seriously look forward to watching each and every video each week! Also, were about to get an Amazon Go in my town (the first one in California!)
You guys are so good at what you do, can't seem to be able to pick a place to visit. You should do a vid on something like 10 places we loved and you should visit
Crazy cool amazon store, we love that Matt got to hang with you guys haven't seen him since you guys earlier videos, you guys have grown the channel so much since then, we are about 6 months in to our channel and we hope with hard work we can get to where you guys are! 👌
Thanks for the tour. I always wanted to visit an Amazon Go Store. Our city is under 10,000, so I don't think they will be here anytime soon, who knows! Eric glad you safeguarded your new hat. Also, glad to see a bit of "the balls". Stay happy and Cheeky!
At the beginning---I thought that they were going to dismantle the space needle, and bring it down. Later on, $59 to ride to the top? Absolutely outrageous. Since when did the cost of living and inflation rise 5,000 per cent?
I think the future will be self-driving cars and robots that will deliver your amazon stuff directly to your Fridge. This tech is just to bridge the time until investors get international secret arbitration (like TiSA, TTP, TTIP meant to) that makes sure they can get a monopoly on the tech and Governments can't stop them if People want their Government's to stop this tech.
Loved the BATTLE BOTS! They still have a show on TV called Battle Bots. Glad you both made it to the top of the lookout. Definitely gave you a good leg and butt workout. Great video oh and Eric now you're on Allison's level with a cool jacket. We spent some time in Seattle. Very cool spot for sure. Definitely putting that back on our full-time travel schedule.
My husband and mother in law just spent a long weekend in Seattle. They purchased a pass through the Space Needle web site which includes the Space Needle, Chihuli Garden, The Science Museum and the mono rail. It was the same or less than the price you referenced for just the Space Needle. Something to look into if visiting Seattle. Loved your visit to Amazon Go. I think this is the future way of retail.
We went to Seattle last year in May and it didnt rain once either. The Amazon Go store was kinda cool but ehh after you’ve gone once you get over it pretty quickly
If you're still in Seattle, have you considered checking out West Seattle? Alki Beach? California Ave? Kinda cool places. I enjoy your Adventures so much - thank you for every one of them!
Horrific. Imagine all the data they have on you and how many jobs are lost. Yes, they have stockers, but full time cashiersbare a bulk of the workforce
This was such a lovely chill video! I’d definitely play in the AmazonGo store! As you said one is coming to London, I’m definitely heading there and scoping that out! Can’t wait for the markets :)
I don't think it will last long in London. Since the introduction of Universal Credit due to welfare reforms it will be a shoplifters paradise. Since the welfare reform more stores are finding people are shoplifting to be able to feed themselves and their families because they don't have the money to pay for it. Cashierless stores will have more shoplifters, especially supermarkets. (But on a lighter note - I'd love to see you do a meet up next time you are in the St. Louis area - though I'm working full time and taking grad classes so I don't get much free time...)
I avoid self checkouts as well. The costco near me removed theirs be cause not enough people used them to warrent it. Sometimes it does make a difference.
Love the "Just Walk Out Shopping" mugs! Robots are cool, but folks need to work. Hope they don't totally take over humans jobs. Eric looks like you both had an awesome time playing around with those "Balls" oh wait....in those Spheres! 😂😉
7 years ago my husband and I had a Starbucks at the cafe in the Space Needle...if memory serves me, we didnt pay for the needle as the cafe is floors below but still cool
My favorite beer ever was from the Right Brain Brewery in Traverse City, Michigan. It was an oatmeal-orange stout with chocolate and a hint of chilies. It sounded so weird that I had to try it and ended up having a second glass. Unfortunately, that was the only time I've had it but I hope to experience it again one day.
How does it track your phone to the specific sensor of what you picked up and what you put back? To be honest, it just feels like this is another way of government spying and I hate it lol
That side-step thing won't work. However, the walking backward uphill *does* work! It's a LOT easier to _push_ a weight (your body weight) uphill than it is to _pull_ a weight uphill. When you walk backwards uphill your legs and butt are pushing your weight uphill, but when you walk forward your legs and butt are pulling your weight uphill. I figured it out on Alcatraz, believe it or not. It's about a half-mile, all of it up a STEEP hill, from the dock where you disembark to the top of the island where the prison sits. After the first switchback I turned around to see how far my Mom and step-Dad were behind us and realized how much easier it was to go backwards uphill. It was purely an accident, but I walked the rest of the way uphill backwards. The next day I didn't have the ridiculously, _cripplingly_ sore butt and front of my thighs that I had always had before when hiking up steep hills all day.
Eric and Allison, please let us know when you head back to Seattle the next time so we can all collectively pay for you to go up the space Needle. You really missed out. The view is absolutely amazing and you're much more central in the city so the surroundings are very immersive. Just to ride up the elevator looking out the door is pretty mind-blowing, almost exactly like an amusement park ride in terms of the heart pumping intensity. I've paid to go twice and I would love to contribute the next time you go. Please let us know how to mark a contribution for this next time around
Great video! It’s probably too late, but Seattle has a thing called CityPass that lets you do 5 attractions for $100 - totally with it because it works out to 50% off on the Space Needle, Seattle Aquarium, and other Seattle museums and landmarks. Maybe next time!
You should check out Volunteer Park and the water tower inside it for a great (free) look out of Seattle. It's also next to the cemetery that has Bruce and Brandon Lee's graves, (also free). If you're over in Bellevue, you should check out the Jimi Hendrix memorial in Renton. Best pub in Seattle hands down for me is McCoy's Firehouse down near the stadiums!

They should have em in airports so you can actually get stuff quickly and not miss check in
It's coming. Seattle looks really pretty. A city I would like to visit once the riots are over.
Wow, $59 for the Space Needle. I remember when we paid $11 years ago, and we thought that was a lot.
The $59 ticket is actually for getting to the top and going to the Chihuly museum.
The regular ticket for just the needle is $32.
Yeah it isn't that expensive that is more inclusive then just the needle
@@soccerlover2014 that is more than I would want to pay. Not worth. I'd be willing to pay MAYBE $20.
I cant believe i went to that nice restaurant up there when i was like 7, and got space needle shaped spaghetti...i hate my young self

Im more shocked by the prices than the just walk out feature. That mini salad was $7.99 !
As someone from the UK, the prices for the salads are expensive, we pay £3 at Tesco for a decent salad, bag of crisps and a drink 😂
That Amazon store seems super creepy with all the surveillance and tracking. I agree with Matt when he said the store is scary. But yes it's convenient! That would be good in an airport though because it takes so long for people to ring up stuff in the little stores.
