Cheers for the mention 👍 it’s all coming along very nicely. Going to be a beast! It’s like a ‘pay it forward’ as I nicked most of my knowledge from Sam from Crafty Blinders UA-cam channel 😂 Keep up the great work 👌
@ finished???? Oh how we laugh 😂😂😂😂 our van build has a similar timeframe to HS2 I think… similar cost too! Have you solved the grille light conundrum yet? I’m in a similar mindset. Don’t really want an A Frame but wondering whether that’s the only easy way to mount them
@ 😂😂😂😂 no not yet. I need a ramp to get underneath to take the undergrad and then bumper. I have shelved it for the moment but I may just pay a one of the companies to help me. You can’t do it all as a driveway warrior.
Amazing Matt! loved the final result drone shots and snowy back roads 🙌 Would have liked to see the other rock light colours in action but appreciate you wanting to keep it classy 😅
Another Great and informative video Matt. My Sunday morning watch to give me some Winter motivation before tackling van jobs now the snow has stopped and the sun has just popped out. Cheers.
This really is the ultimate van/set up, massive hats off to you both for this build. Despite the odd (very welcome I’m sure) freebie/sponsorship the overall cost inc the van must be astronomical as you’ve really gone high spec on everything. Looking forward to seeing it finished
Thanks Jason that’s kind of you to say. Very welcome indeed 😂. Yep we have poured our hearts and soul into it. It’s been many years in the planning and saving.
Fantastic video Matt. Excellent choice…always thought of adding Auxbeam and you’ve helped me decide here. I’ve saved your video for future reference 😁👍👍
This is awesome. I've been thinking about lights on my van could've done with some in the outer hebrides this new year . Although I'm terrified of drilling holes in the roof of our van 😂 thanks for this . Gives me some confidence ! Your van lighting is fantastic
@turkeyphant when it's pissing down pitch black and gale force winds having to relocate to a more sheltered area in the middle of the night ... trust me . They would've come in very handy
Looking good! I used a Garmin PowerSwitch for my bonnet lights (10 mins to fit the brackets and hour to realign the bonnet afterwards 🤬) compressor etc. It’s a similar fit to auxbeam unit but there is no switch panel, you use the app on your phone but the best bit is it’s Apple CarPlay compatible to you use your head unit as a switch panel. The major downside is it’s quite expensive rather than free 😉
That sounds very cool having on apple car play. But does it look like a fighter jet? 😂😂 I was luck and Shaun form mule fitted my bonnet brackets for me. I’m glad he fed now you have said that.
@abucklife yes they look quality mate. I think Wen spring comes I'm going to get myself a van I'm thinking l4 boxer or something tho so I can have double bed width of van and loads cheaper than mercs and crafter's
Excellent kit choice again. Looking forward to the door of pain being updated. Hopefully you are sleeping in the van in this freezing weather to test it out! Are you getting a camera system to see all sides? Useful security. TBTs just fitted a vibration alarm system externally too. Keeps the bears & people away!
Good morning, Great video, you should look at getting Labcraft L18 for the sides of the van. They are very bright and good if you need to go out at night to take the dog out or something.
Evening 😊. Haven't watched the whole video yet, but surely you don't want the lights to only come on when the ignition is on? You may want to use them when you're not running the vehicle etc? Would it be better to come off the leisure batteries?
Good idea. I toyed with this but running cables from the leisure batteries for driving lights would have been a nightmare. I might do this with the rear lights I’m undecided yet. I can always reroute power to the rock lights to if we decide we want to use them in camp.
Great video, wish you had done it before I fitted my Auxbeam gear, it would have made it easier!!! I have a spare number plate bracket if you want to try it for your bumper lights.
I don’t know if you go to the testing towards the end of the video but the difference is night and day. I felt more confident being able to see more around me on the show. (Plus they look cool) 😂
@@nashz911 each set of lights come with there own wiring harness. So I just clipped the harness and wired in each set of lights to the switch panel and wired them into separate switches.
Auxbeam is basically using a relay set up and taking most of the hard work out of it so just like if you wired a switch in your van to a relay under your hood and wired that to your lights, this is the same thing but smaller and way less complicated. So instead of you having to work out the relays in the switches and the wiring and wire management this is a much cleaner option for about the same price as what you would spend on a bunch of relays and switches

Becoming quite the beast! Very nice build. Nice of the snow to come back just in time for the lights test, giving you a taste of what's to come!

Another great vid Matt. Lights look great, and the control panel really does look like a fighter jet!! 😉
Yes. Thank you. It does doesn’t it. I just need one of those weapon switches you flick open 😂
Fantastic video Matt. Excellent choice…always thought of adding Auxbeam and you’ve helped me decide here. I’ve saved your video for future reference 😁👍👍
Thanks mate. The switch panel definitely made the install easier especially for adding multiple lights.
Great job Matt .. i watch all your video's as i'm looking for a van at the minute to convert over the next few months
Thanks Marc. You won’t regret it. Let the build begin.

How would they have helped in the hebredies?

High way to the danger zone 😂

Can you order direct from the auxbeam website? I live in the UK too.

I think it will come in handy when we head to Norway. Anytime when we are off the beaten track.
Yellow light is much better in heavy snow fall
