I remember when a friend and bandmate got a brand new Gibson Explorer, it was a 1977-78. We were like 15 and it was like the Edges but he was a Skynard fan and Allen Collins played that natural color. Last i heard he was making a decent living in Las Vegas playing guitar, wonder if he still has it, worth a lot of money if so
If you're ok with the thick neck these are good. I paid 150 for mine in good condition. I shaved the neck down so is going to be refinished, but worth it.
I don't know. The common themes with Westfield's I've seen are that the timber selection and quality of fit of everything is very good. This was matched by reasonable but budget hardware, good enough to not have to change it though, and a little untidy on wiring and general process cleanliness. The designs of each guitar type though seem to be closer to the original versions of them from what I've seen. In my case the Explorer and two Strats, and some sightings of others.

My first bass was a Westfield..... for the money, it was pretty good. They were a Scottish brand iirc????

I'm on the lookout for an explorer, problem is I don't want to pay more than £400. I'd like to find one of these Westfields though, looks good.

I've got one of those. Had to thin the neck down for me but otherwise a good guitar.
