I've been to Cyprus three times , Paphos is good fun with lots going on , nice restaurants lively bars etc, but if you spend all your holiday in the commercial hot spots then you'll miss the real wonders that Cyprus has to offer, mountains , waterfalls, beautiful architecture, monasteries and more .....
I agree. There's much more to Cyprus than tourist areas. I suppose that is true of most countries. I've been to Cyprus many times and if you are fortunate to be able to drive you can visit many lovely villages at your own pace rather than a tour. In saying that there are also some well organised very interesting tours also. It's a fascinating country.
In 1960, a treaty of establishment allowed Cyprus to become an independent Republic, free from British control. Within the agreement, two Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) at Akrotiri and Dhekelia were identified as real estate that would remain as British sovereign territory and therefore remain under British jurisdiction.
This is probably why it had a fast pass for British.
Half the joy of watching you I find can come when you naturally bump into people you know or that know you from you tube and when you go to these other places its a different dynamic and vibe then on the island of Teneirife. .I've watch you since start Kev you tuber Legend you are at this stage wud love to meet u for pint mate.

Every time we stay in Paphos we stay in Appollonia apartments further along from Alexander's bar.

Try the Bar Crocodile it's on the main road as if your on your way out from the port walk past the Alexandra the great hotel on the opposite side of the rd it's a boss bar especially at night cheers mate YNWA
We were in Paphos in March this year, it was like a ghost town with everywhere fenced off because of road work. This is a totally different vibe, thank you for sharing it makes us want to return maybe in season

Jayanta is a good indian. Alkion is also very good local restaurant. Spent many hours in Friends, good bar. Stayed at Nereus ten years or so ago because we had my dad with us, it was easy for him to get about from there. Disaster, someone tried breaking into the room in the middle of the night and then the room flooded after a thunderstorm. You get what you pay for!!
Cyprus is very British. Same electrical sockets, traffic lights, drive on the left, but still a great place. If you get the chance, book a trip on the Wavedancer boat. Absolutely brilliant day out.
The plug sockets and RHD are the only things British about Cyprus now. It’s completely changed in the last 10 years. It’s as if they don’t want anything to do with the British anymore.

We are staying in the Leonardo Cypria bay in June which is on the sea front , it’s meant to be a great walk along the shore to see all the different hotels, enjoy you’re stay

Been to Paphos once on the first lockdown .Absolutely loved it .Only problem no much of a beach and the beer was horrible .Stay away from the local brew Kappa

Friends is a really good Bar
We were in Paphos last year it was OK. Upmarket Chinese restaurant was fantastic can't remember the name. Take a bus to Coral Bay only 30 minutes away it's lovely there. Keep up the good work and talk about football as much as you like.

Good to see you out there in Paphos Kevin. I love it and was last in the resort in 2018. I stay out of the centre and down on the seafront where there are lots of lovely hotels with gardens at the front. The beaches along there aren’t great but if you take a trip in the other direction out of Paphos ( beyond the fort ) you will get to Coral Bay where there is a decent beach.
In the evenings I tend to stay out of the centre as there are some lovely little taverna restaurants with plenty of character dotted around. Looking forward to more videos!

If you’ve never been to Cyprus then go, you will feel at home. Best Beaches are in the East of the island. Nissi beach, Protaras and fig tree bay. If in the west head to coral bay.

12:30 wow stayed at the alecos hotel apartments when I was about 12 - 20 odd years ago. Amazing, thought they knocked it down. Rooms were riddled with bedbugs 😂

Not sure about the preferential treatment at the airport, they tend to split the que's depending on what type of passport you have like an E-passport. Sometimes they send you straight to the kiosk for stamping or send you to the passport scanner first regardless of type of passport, it just regulates the quing. Alexander sports bar a regular place for me.

This guy is a hoot! Travels to Cyprus and his big complaint is he will miss a game? Why travel at all? Goes to Napoli and says he doesn't like Italian food. Again why travel? If my dad and granddad could see this they would find it incomprehensible. They would have said more or less suck it up, you are lucky enough to travel for pleasure.
Loved the whinge about the worst chicken ever, but what did he expect? You don’t dump on a countries hospitality by ordering chicken and chips

Never noticed a 2 euro charge in italy last year either just naples or you got ripped off kev, yeah booking seemed to have the most choice of places to stay you were lucky to find somewhere so close to this area.

Paphos was the place to go, but it’s an unexciting hole of a place now - another once lively 24 hour town, reduced to a few Brit pubs showing sports tv and live ‘music’ - desperate to get punters in to claw back the losses from a pandemic and the huge Russian contingent.
People used to go for the Cypriot restaurants, when the only foreign places were a McDonlads and an up market Chinese (not a cheap pig trough buffet!)n themed bars, nightclubs and crowded streets - only the Rose served a Sunday roast to a packed bar, with no need to get bums on seats with tv football - you had to prebook! Even when I couldn’t move for Russians it was more inviting?
Stick to the Cypriot culture and embrace their customs, food and hospitality - or why bother travelling? Might as well slap on fake tan and sit in a Wetherspoon for a week 🙄🤷🏻♂️

Advice already? I posted this on your Naples Airport cast. Cyprus; fried halloumi cheese (with fresh lemon juice), artichokes, chickpeas, pitta bread; then all the meats are marinated and grilled very healthy. Cypriot Brandy Sour is wonderful, Zivania is like Grappa Ok in small doses, stay away from retsina 'any and all' you would be well advised to have a Brandy sour well before dinner and wash down with one Zivania - other than this stick to the bier otherwise Cyprus will take you over body and soul and you may not even feel it happening.
