I actually tried to look up about the contest in the super nintendo game, but I didn't find much.
I didn't find out what the prize was, who the winners were, and if the prizes were even handed out at all. On one site I looked at it said that the prize was apparently a cheap cool spot toy and some 7up drinks, but I didn't find any concrete evidence that this was the truth.
But there's also a theory that the whole contest pulled an action 52 ooze level 5, meaning the contest was never actually held, but was more off a marketing tool, and considering that the game probably wasn't so well known the contest was forgotten about.
In fact in the rest of the world the final screen was removed.

Jeff Rovin gave Spot for NES a really good review in How To Win at Nintendo Games 4. His one real complaint was that he wished the cpu was more diverse with its opening moves. He gave an A for the graphics, noting how well animated the spots are.

While I originally didn't like Irate Gamer, I came in with an open mind. I'm very impressed with his videos. I'm in support of him now. He's evolved and done VERY well for himself. It takes a certain kind of courage to keep making videos and keep trucking on through the mud people keep throwing. I really, really hope he keeps at it and keeps evolving!

If you're interested, the real prize is a pair of sunglasses (cheap ones) and a Cool Spot pin. I still have the pin, but I have no idea where the glasses are.

I owned Cool Spot for the SNES as a kid but honestly I never did enjoy it too much because of its difficult labyrinth structured levels. Though Ill admit, the bonus level music is KICK FUCKING ASS. Best OST ever.

I think that's actually a hallway in his house whenever he opens the door. I had a house that was like that before it was awesome it felt like I had my own apartment in my house because the room was so big and there was another door adjacent outside.

So i got a copy of Cool Spot for Genesis after watching this game. I have a 7up rep that comes in. I was talking to him about it and he said they dont do that anymore but he thought it was so funny that i had spent all that time he gave me a few two liters and a t-shirt

The only good thing is that Irate Gamers episodes are a great way to get to sleep if your having trouble falling asleep. Since his episodes are boring. His bad acting reminds me of the actors from Bio dome.

what I don't get is why I have to watch a commercial before every IG episode but not with the AVGN episodes
Anyone who tries to do video game reviews in this style will always be called an AVGN ripoff. The key is coming up with some other original ideas on the way or reviewing games he hasn't reviewed at all
I've seen every episode of AVGN on Cinemassacre. Now, I'm not really a fan of IrateGamer as this is only the 2nd video of his that I watched, but I did enjoy the video. I have played the 7up game on SNES and it annoyed me. I'm glad he addressed the issue with falling to the bottom of the stage
You know I always like to go back to some of your old videos and The TMNT video is one of my personal favorites. If Nintendo had the 4 player adapter why the hell was there no 4 player capabilities on TMNT 2 or 3?!

The cool adventure on game boy is EXACTLY the same as the mcdonalds game boy game! The levels, the enemies, the music, everything is the same! Except of course with spot as the main character instead of some random kid
The snes & genesis version of 7up MUST have been inspirated from toy story, what's weird about the complete ending is that it say's take a picture of this screen,well what about a game wit, an ending wich say's record this tune from speaker, haha lol, very innovative.
