So the turn player still Special Summons a monster, although the special Battle Phase is not conducted, but the victory check in the End Phase is still performed.

The combination of MBT and Cimo is what makes this so entertaining. Now I just want to see jank vs jank every episode. Those decks are the most unique.
I don’t know if this has changed, but at least in old school YGO: 1 Win, 1 Loss, and 1 DRAW, or 3 DRAWs, makes the entire Match a DRAW Additionally, I don’t believe Last Turn ever got limited. I believe it was at 2 until it got banned in April 2006
Great episode. Enjoyed this as an old player and as a previous judge of this era. All the rulings of last turn took time to be discovered ruled on and added to the official rulings archive. So we had to make judgments on site at times. At one time we believed last turn could not be activated without owning a monster. Goes to show we didnt always get it right back then. Thank you for the episode. Fantastic series.
I absolutely love that Last Turn got screentime. It’s legitimately my favorite forbidden card. What usually happens in the situation of the draw in game 2 would be that you do play a game 3. A match is supposed to end in a draw if the final result is 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw or 3 draws.
This accuratly portrayed old Yu-Gi-Oh no matter the official rulings. This is the history of Yu-Gi-Oh and if this had happen back then, i am sure they also would have came up with something on the spot since not every judge has studied this card 😅
Eh . . . this was good but it wasn't but my gut funny like Maximillion Cimo's Millenium Eye bullshit. The only Yu-Gi-Oh thing I've seen that topped that was a Team APS vid where they reviewed fake cards and found a "Black Cows Magician."
that OTK is still the best moment imo, but you know a card is busted when you go to look up the rulings and it's practically a labyrinthine novel. Was a major highlight for sure.
I suspected that MBT also played Magic by his username, but that Shaharazad callout confirmed it. Glad to see another person who plays both, especially someone willing to play such great jank
Loving this series, I've been binge-watching it, awesome stuff. 32:07 in case of a draw in tournament rules, the player who started the match that ended up in a draw will start again.
MBT getting 2 instant win conditions crossed out from the list in Exodia and Last Turn ("technically not technically") Crackpot 7, Venominaga, and Elephant next??
Gravekeepers were totally underrated back then. Especially in a Chaos format. Nobody expects Necrovalley! And getting thre Spy before Monarchs were a thing turned out pretty darn useful because nobody else had them :p
I got linked this series by a friend for nostalgia purposes and man oh man am I having a trip. I had to comment on this episode especially because I did play a Last turn deck at my local tournament at least once. The real jank part about it for my build was I went for the first game win and then I sided in 3 suicide buttons to go for the suicide draw for game 2 and 3. The one time I remember playing it I did win a few rounds. I think in that same tourny there was another person playing a last turn deck that actually revolved around using Suijin as the monster you have out and used legendary ocean and such to make him a 1 sac summon. I love playing the off beat/ jank decks personally because they can get really interesting if you get it to work. Some of my favorites around this time period were ones like my direct attack deck(didn't REALLY get good till Raging Flame Sprite), mill, and some form of Exodia.
Wow. A lot to go over in this episode: - Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi is definitely nude. Maybe in 2040 we'll get a lost art reprint of the card to clarify the mystery. - 24:10 MBT goes full anime villain, eager to enact his revenge and enact the dastardly plan that will totally-100%-without a doubt work. - The freaky friday (and tragic) dynamic of this episode where MBT doesn't want to spin jank and cimo admits that he had a tailor made jank deck that was ready to go. We should get a bonus episode with the two jank decks in this format going head to head against each other to establish supremacy. - The beginning to end comedy and rock bottom iq plays that we see, perhaps outdoing anything in the Law of The Normal Turbo v Exodia Mystic Mine match. Maybe MBT should bring gavin on as a consultant to build and coach through the most unbeatable, unwatchable jank deck possible for scenarios like this. I shudder to think about what will happen when that series gets to Pharaonic Guardian on Saturday.
For me, Cimo is the villain for constantly breaking the rules. 40:12 not sure wether he forgot to dectract his life points after using Ring of Destruction by accidecnt or if he didn't on purpose.
I knew from the length of the video and the decks being played that Cimoooooooo was gonna win Game 3, but I really did want MBT to win Game 3 so we could see a Game 4.
At first I thought this series was going to be more of the same, but it has it s own personalities with MBT, and he s a damn funny man. I love this series just as much as the progression ones!
There's a very important thing to consider when Yata-locking without extra damage on board. If the cards in your own deck are less than 200x the opponent's LP then you can't completely lock them because you'll deck out before killing them.
You can use any beater for the last 1800 lp so you'd need 31 cards at the absolute most. In cimos case here, he can also substitute a yata turn with a normal summon + drop off. Or you just special summon additional damage with reborn or premature
that doesn't take into account normalling a monster instead of yata on the last turn as a push. Having a gemini elf in deck is equal to an extra 9 cards. Not to mention revival spells like reborn and prem.
Hey guys I played yugioh when I was younger. I don't play now and I don't plan on getting back in but I love watching these. Feels like a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Also, I had no idea any of these combos or anything existed. Thanks for this!
Cimo just to let you know ring of destruction only targets your opponents monster and not your own, unless im missing something! Anyways, heres the late scoreboard! Cimo: Matches: 9-5 Games: 22-16 RPS: 7 MBT: Matches: 5-9 Games: 16-21 RPS: 7
Slight nitpick, Gravekeeper's aren't the first Archetype, Harpie's are, as Elegant Egotist came out in Metal Raiders making them a proper archetype. Granted they had like... 3 Members, 4 if you count Pet Dragon, but they are the first one.
technically MBT couldn't have activated Last turn in game 2 as you need a monster on field to even trigger it. But I digress was still hilarious to watch.
You sure about that? It's not rare that they mess up but they did look it up and said that the last turn was valid, what they did not know was how the tie was resolved. Maybe the rulings changed or you're talking about different erratas? Though it's totally possible that they simply overlooked something.
@@Acepunydefoc i am positive of it. I played last turn back then and had rulings and all. You dont need the monster to be on the field when last turn resolves, but you do need it initially to activate.
Another fun one to see a glimpse into what could have been. NEVER had to deal with last turn at the time. The scariest things from PGD where I lived was Necrovalley and Gravekeepers dominating you. Lots of the local strats were still around reborning powerful monsters so that was completely shut down. Along with the G. Assailant who got 2K ATK along with it made it nearly unstoppable. Very surprised to see Gravekeepers not even touched since it dominated the playground with only a few copies of the archteype's cards. And I remember the rare lava golem popping up every now and again from a lucky kid who pulled it which was one of the weirdest cards to encounter at the time. Granted a lot of kids lived and died by their faves like red eyes and dark magician still at that point because of the TV show. With Don never getting pulled or just ignored and no one ever getting a more powerful monster than la jinn it was still a diverse playground format. Great video!
I fucking love you guys so much. It's so entertaining watching you, MBT, and Gaige play with old stuff. Here's to you lads, and to a new year of ridiculous shit.

I pulled a copy of Last Turn as a kid. I was fascinated by the art and trying to decipher the text. I loved it then and I love it now. The idea of a climactic final battle being performed for a winner take all finale, only for reality to settle in for some dude in a hat to say *no* and cheese wins off it.
At the time, the rules for draws were that the match itself is a draw if both players have 1-1-1 or have 3 draws. Nowadays, the rules say that you keep playing more and more games until one person gets two wins, which could lead to a Game 4, a Game 5, or even a Game 100. In terms of choosing who goes first, you need to do another RPS after each draw.
28:50 Just play until someone wins 2 games. Don’t count a draw as winning or losing. Just count it as...a draw. Cimooooooo is basically still 1-0 in the match after the draw. More games = More content
For the record my spouse and I were hoping for the jank fest. As it stands this was absolutely hilarious. And MBT if I ever do meet you at an irl event, I’m actually going to have you sign my copy of Exodia.
Y’all should try using one of each of the strategy’s on the wheel and play two out of three, no siding, each game a different deck. That way we can see a wider variety of that format. It’s history of Yu-Gi-Oh after all you might skip important decks or strategy’s.
This was hilarious. As for Last Turn: I'm quite sure you need to have a monster to select on your side of the field to activate the card. I played Yugioh Tag Force 5 and made a hyper banned (hyper banned is fancy talk for pseudo-ftk) Last Turn deck just because. It consists of using Graceful Charity and Darkworld Dealings (and others) to draw and discard all the cards you need, including the Darkworld monsters that special summon when discarded from hand. Once I have 3 on the field, I then tribute for The Winged Dragon of Ra which will most likely have 7900 attack and thus auto-wining the game. Aside from causing the game to kinda wig out and for some reason go to turn three where no one draws or does anything before declaring my victory, I'm pretty sure the card can't even be activated if you don't have a monster to select. But yeah, that's just my experience. Also and unrelated, I do have Last Turn from PG in paper and I always thought he was naked XD
At first I was annoyed by the continuation of the wheel but on the other hand, it is correct to also demonstrate roque strategies for a full historical representation of the Meta. Besides, it was very hilarious and actually educational xD. I've always wondered why Last Turn was banned and my question finally got answered. I mean holy, the ruling site for Last Turn is an entire essay xD
No one playing Marauding Captain Lock and ROTA, nobody playin Gravekeepers, it's really dissapointing. I got Yata-Locked enough back in my playing days that I don't need to see it again >.>
@@Undrave Captain lock with ROTA wasn't viable at this point. Remeber that both were limited before the release of Pharanoic Guardian. Gravekeepers would be good in beatdown but nobody was able to roll it on the wheel. But that's just what it is, it was all hand control with some roque beatdown decks. I would have complained more if hand control hadn't been rolled, it was the meta defining deck after all. It's so much fun to yata-lock your opponent, but it certainly isn't fun to get locked >_
@@Undrave I've always liked degenerate strategies to be honest. But the mirror matches are certainly disgusting, I am not going to deny that. The main thing that has always drawn me to yu-gi-ioh is the fact that there are basically no restrictions to the game and Konami even has the balls to competely play around with core mechanics which is just super interesting to me. But I understand that many people don't have fond memories of those degenerate times
What's really funny about Last Turn is that ironically the art features cards that cannot be Special Summoned, then again I suppose whoever drew the art probably didn't know about that stipulation regarding Spirit monsters.

- Dark hole, premature burial to summon witch, tribute to summon Jinzo, effect off which search, attack
Mind Blown
Right!!! I was wondering why he didn’t throw Jinzo in the grave then premature. BUT!! Bringing back Witch and sacrificing that gave him an extra search. Big Brain Cimo lol
"WAIT! Who picks?" This just killed me. And for how loud I'm laughing right now, prolly also killed my neighbours eardrums.
Best episode so far. Keep it going
I don't know. The Exodia was pretty good
That last turn deck makes me physically ill
I agree with that
Aw, come on, it was AWESOME!
I'm honestly watching this series because of Joseph
Goddamn, if Jank leads to shenanigans like this, can we keep it on the wheel as a booby prize? This duel was a glorious trainwreck and I loved it.
The combination of MBT and Cimo is what makes this so entertaining. Now I just want to see jank vs jank every episode. Those decks are the most unique.
I don’t know if this has changed, but at least in old school YGO: 1 Win, 1 Loss, and 1 DRAW, or 3 DRAWs, makes the entire Match a DRAW
Additionally, I don’t believe Last Turn ever got limited. I believe it was at 2 until it got banned in April 2006
always love mbt's silly sleeves
"2021's looking pretty nice for me!"
Uh............. Yeah, you shouldn't have said that.
The fact that MBT keeps coming out with these out of left field decks for our entertainment is awesome. Makes this series so much better.
MBT makes this series so funny. Love that dude.
Man I would've loved to see Cimooo's face when the game ends in a draw for the 5th time... then he decides to ban self-destruct button
welp. i didnt think the 3 turn into an otk moment could be topped.
Eh . . . this was good but it wasn't but my gut funny like Maximillion Cimo's Millenium Eye bullshit.
MBT getting 2 instant win conditions crossed out from the list in Exodia and Last Turn ("technically not technically")
Crackpot 7, Venominaga, and Elephant next??
Final countdown, reversal quiz.
@@konstantink7310 Final Countdown yes
Reversal quiz nah thats an FTK not an alternative win con
@@Banonymous- would be funny tho. I mean FTK s are kinda Jank too and part of yugiohs history or you think not? Yeah some people hate it a lot lol.
Survey to have them make a vid on both of them playing jank
Technically true since Cimo was still trying to Yata-lock...
I remember loving this pack when I was younger because it had an Ancient Egyptian style.
Gravekeepers were totally underrated back then. Especially in a Chaos format. Nobody expects Necrovalley! And getting thre Spy before Monarchs were a thing turned out pretty darn useful because nobody else had them :p
Last turn should get an errata that just makes the card more clear to understand.
Fun fact: Jank is apparently also the name of a short lived band who broke up after about a year due to multiple sexual abuse allegations.
My god that opening hand cimoo
Nobody says there would be math in yugioh
Wow. A lot to go over in this episode:
-
Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi is definitely nude.
I don’t think anything can outdo “I sided out exodia” literally had me rolling
For me, Cimo is the villain for constantly breaking the rules. 40:12 not sure wether he forgot to dectract his life points after using Ring of Destruction by accidecnt or if he didn't on purpose.
to the first point: he has a fundoshi, a type of loincloth
static.wikia.nocookie.net/yugioh/images/5/5f/HinoKaguTsuchi-MA-JP-UR.png
Come on, it's not really wrestling a giant snake dragon demon unless you do it in the nude like the romans used to.
@@Orfeh9999 yeah but who knows what happens you're fighting at giant snake dragon
Don Zaloog is the man! If I wasn't named gateguardian44, I would have been named donzaloog44... I have 44 copies of both cards. ;)
MBT's joker laugh is the reason I play Yugioh awaiting the Cimo "oh..."
Guess my favorite archetype is jank
You also have to consider that even if you're short, your opponent must be willing to be locked 30 turns to test out if you're actually short
31:20 cimo: "for the viewers id say we do a game 3"
It's my first time watching this video and we're at HALF of it 😳
Hey guys I played yugioh when I was younger. I don't play now and I don't plan on getting back in but I love watching these. Feels like a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Also, I had no idea any of these combos or anything existed. Thanks for this!
Like here to have cimo make a shirt saying, draw for turn
I really hope u didnt make a typo cause that way is 1000 times funnier
@@psychospoiler Like the poop emoji plush, but instead of the face it's "DRAW FOR TURN" in like a graffiti font.
@@GdotWdot No no. Just a video of him squeezing one out whist chanting “draw for turn draw for turn”
Top ten unfortunate missed letters
Cimo just to let you know ring of destruction only targets your opponents monster and not your own, unless im missing something!
Anyways, heres the late scoreboard!
Cimo:
Matches: 9-5
Games: 22-16
RPS: 7
MBT:
Matches: 5-9
Games: 16-21
RPS: 7
I gave Cimo 3 game wins this video cause technically he won 3 games this episode due to the tie they had in game 2 with last turn!
Alex might be a step ahead in terms of competition, but damn does Joseph know how to entertain XD you guys are the best.
Jank Mirror Match would've been hilarious though
I fucking love you guys so much. It's so entertaining watching you, MBT, and Gaige play with old stuff. Here's to you lads, and to a new year of ridiculous shit.
My favourite quotes from the video:
"[...] Back to super soakers."
"The wheel giveth and the wheel taketh away."
- MBT, 2021
This has to be the jankiest history of Yu-Gi-Oh or progression series video
People: Old School Yu-Gi-Oh! was great until all these synchros and pendulums and links came
Old School Yu-Gi-Oh!: Pot of Greed, Graceful Charity, Delinquent Duo, Confiscation, Forceful Sentry, Last Turn, Painful Choice, Yata-Garasu
You're profile pic fits your comment perfectly xD
Cimooo: you underestimate my card draw.
Dont try it.
Cimoo: ahhhhhh
Plays last turn:
Cimooooo: I hate you!!!
Cheddar, Muenster, American, Blue, Swiss, Mozzarella...
The amount of cheese 🧀 in this episode was unreal! Lol 😆
This was one of the best episodes, but please for Obelisk's NEVER play Last turn again lmao
Game 3? Is fucking hilarious to see
28:50 Just play until someone wins 2 games. Don’t count a draw as winning or losing. Just count it as...a draw. Cimooooooo is basically still 1-0 in the match after the draw.
More games = More content
Last Turn has to have as many complex rulings as Pole Position. BTW MBT should absolutely try that at some point.
that second battle was beautiful
So Cimo has been Exodia'd for a game and Jowgen Last Turned. At least he won this match.
he didn't get jowgen last turned tho, Jinzo saved him
Didn't they mess up ruling if ring of destruction. It is one monster your opponent controls. Cimo used in a monster he controls
For the record my spouse and I were hoping for the jank fest. As it stands this was absolutely hilarious. And MBT if I ever do meet you at an irl event, I’m actually going to have you sign my copy of Exodia.
Exodia, yata lock and now a Last Turn rules nightmare. This sereis hits all the important moments
“Yugioh’s very first archetype”
*Harpie Lady would like to know your location*
MBT is living proof that the universe is in fact a simulation.
I think you’re right cause you have to meet the requirement? Not 100% sure on that but it would make sense.
@@pandaman1331 Hand Destruction is just "Do not play the game' The Deck. It's not super fun.
