Oh my that is beautiful yarn! It works up beautifully! I've never tried knitting on my crochet or vice versa. That really produces a unique effect! You work so fast, I'm envious, lol!
I used to say to my mom, “I’ll never crochet as fast as you” here I am older then she was at the time and the same comments have been said about me. One stitch counts, nobody can dictate the pace.
2024 July: this yarn has 13 colors available on Lion Brand’s site. Right now there is a sale 2 for $20 on certain yarns. Mandala String is one of the yarns offered at 4 for $20 😉🥰🧶
Wow! Beautiful yarn and love the colors in it. Thanks for doing a swatch. It really worked up nice. So glad to hear Hobby Lobby is starting to add other brands of yarn.
You are so welcome! I was so happy to see them expanding their selection more. Michael’s in my are has shrunk so much it unfortunately isn’t worth going (I’m still going 😂). JoAnn’s has been winning the box box store yarns in my opinion right now. Maybe with HL adding yarns back that could change.
You are so welcome! I’ve completed a shawl using this yarn if you were interested in how that looks. It was nice to work with, definitely had a cotton feel. 100% acrylic yarn.
@@patricecooper8419 The shawl was crochet and I used 2 of the 3 balls. I could have made it a lot bigger if I chose. I also knit (a lot 🥰). When I got this yarn I did some test swatches in knit and decided I liked the crochet better. This yarn although acrylic felt like a cotton yarn. The shawl turned out great. Check out one of my Monday videos to see all the knitting I’ve been up to. Thanks for stopping by and asking a question.
Thank you ! I enjoyed the part where you explain your crafter’s journey. I have taught myself to crochet in the pandemic and now I am trying to learn to knit, but two needles AND yarn is a bit much for me…
I think my crocheting helped my knitting because I already knew how to hold my yarn. You have that part down and are most likely set up for continental style, the way I knit. For a lot of people once they get it, it’s faster. Remember it’s two sticks and some string. You’ve got this!
Newer to your channel - really appreciated hearing your rationale behind why you picked up knitting in earnest. You exude thoughtfulness and kindness. I'm glad I found your channel.
That’s exiting. I didn’t go digging in the boxes, I wanted to though 😂, so don’t know what else they will be bringing in. Our isles shrunk so much, it was a great site to see so much coming in.
I was at Hobby Lobby today and saw this yarn. I picked up one skein of Jazz, (I always just buy one of a new yarn to make sure I like it). You’re definitely right about the cottony feel. Reminds me of a mercerized cotton. I’ve never used acrylic that has quite this feel. It’s a lot heavier than most acrylics also. I’m glad Hobby Lobby is adding some new yarns. Their downsizing of the yarn aisles has been a big disappointment to us yarn lovers. Not only have they gotten rid of whole aisles, they’ve narrowed them as well so that you can barely get your cart through. Guess they had to make some more room for the ridiculous amount of Christmas stuff they carry! 😢😂
I get it, it was sad, my HL was putting up the Christmas stuff this week along with Halloween and Thanksgiving. The shrinking yarn is a sad thing. I’m the the only yarn “curator”, we know it is selling so what’s up? I agree with the mercerized description, it says acrylic but feels cotton.
I really hope people start posting projects made with this yarn soon! I was so tempted to get one today, but had no clue what I'd make with it. I'm wondering, is it worth it to dissect the color changes if using multiple skeins?
I don’t think it would be. I’m not sure it the original pink was a full stripe from the ball. If it was you would end up with a ton of little balls and lots of ends to weave it.
@anotheryarn darn. I really wish they relased this yarn with some pics for inspiration, really surprised they didn't if they bothered to make a whole new yarn line, it's got a really nice feel to it
I’m thinking of trying this for curtains. You mentioned it was acrylic but somewhat characteristic of cotton. Do you think it would be too stretchy for something as large as a 54x80 panel in filet? (I know this is a vague question with lots of variables, but if you jump up & down with a definite “don’t do it,” 😂 I’ll abandon it as a possibility.) Thank you.
I think that would be a good use for this. It is more of the cotton “string” than a yarn if that makes sense. I was thinking of a knit too but after working on the swatches I think more of a net stitch crochet too/cover up.
Agreed! It is a wonderful feel! Thank you for the swatches. So helpful!
It’s always nice to see some stitches in the yarn. It is what is lacking in a lot of yarn reviews.
Wonderful wonderful great idea
Thank you so much. The colors is like a tropical sunrise.
I saw this yarn at one of my local Hobby Lobby last evening. I have 4 Hobby Lobby's around me within 20 mins.
I was really happy to see this new yarn reset.

OMG that yarn is beautiful!!!
Now that I’ve done a swatch it’s time to think of a project for it. I think a knit garment, maybe

What a beautiful yarn. Thanks for sharing.

It really is pretty. I like the summer colors.
Awesome! That's beautiful yarn. Works up great!
I was pleased with it. Definitely the cotton “string” feel but not in a bad way.
