Phantom Regiment plays Amazing Grace at Music in the Park 2018

- I have not seen this performed live for probably 20 years and have only been able to play it on CD. I got goose bumps when it was announced. This was performed in honor of the passing of Dr Dan.
Once upon a time, I was extolling the wonder that is DCI online. A friend of mine from Australia, where apparently they don't have brass instruments, was all like "what's the big deal, how good can it be?"
I sent him a link to this video and said "there is a point in this song where you will suddenly become a fan of the Phantom Regiment. I'm not going to tell you where it is, but you'll know."
"Yeah, right, whatever. It's Amazing Grace, big deal."
"Uh-huh."
10 minutes later I get another message from him: "Got any more?"
I sent him 2010, 2008, and the 2008 announcement... the long version.
The next day: "What was that reaction???" So I had to explain everything.
I still feel smug about that.
I was lucky to be in Rockford Illinois in 1992 on a Monday evening just before finals in Madison and watching them perform this epic version of Amazing Grace... It will remain in my memory forever. Thank you Phantom Regiment from the bottom of my heart. Greetings from Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
I Grew up in ROCKFORD and have been watching the REGIMENT for decades ... We Are EXTREMELY PROUD of THEM.... They have been a source of pride and something for many of our your kids to ASPIRE to for GENERATIONS.... THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS....i no longer live in Rockford and they are something I do miss GREATLY.
Not a major reception there considering how great that was.
