Switched to one of these on a whim after half a dozen 3 series and half a dozen C-classes and its been rock solid so far (60.000km) It also just turns heads in a way Germans can't because you don't see Jags often.
LOVE Jaguar, but I’m not blind to their issues. I used to be skeptical, but we owned a 2016 XE 25t for 4.5 years and had absolutely no issues. Traded up to a 2020 F-Pace 20d Chequered Flag in early 2021 and have been completely satisfied since. They might be unicorns our cars, but we’re ecstatic and completely smitten with our Jaaaaag’s. Another excellent video as always!
I also love Jag. But was massively letdown by the insurance on the iPace, had to swap it for a discovery sport, automatic... Very hard to get used to, seeing that I still can borrow the Mrs' 2 litre diesel manual available to my disposal if need be. The car has never given us any issues, 5yrs later. Love it, and we got it 2nd hand.
It was indeed funny, though I feel like both presenters were being a bit negative about this "superbly" made car? 🤔 E.g., squeaks and rattles, so what? Yes this car had a poor panel gap at the front, but has it been in a crash? Whereas some of their Toyota Century or Lexus reviews are a bit the other way (e.g., saying Toyota Centurys don't break, whereas a few owners in the comments pointed out a few common faults), almost like there is a bit of bias there. An overly negative tone is going to put people off who are looking for genuine consumer advice IMO.
@@TassieLorenzoJaguar and Land Rover are the same brand. We all know land rovers reputation for reliability. They are not comparable (in terms of reliability) to Toyota. Stop kidding yourself.
Had a 3litre diesel XF for about 6 years and loved it. No issues. Now have an 2017 XE R Sport 25t petrol AWD which I've had for nearly 3 years now with no issues. Granted it's only done 25,000 miles but it has been driven in a spirited manner. Two tone leather and black pack make it look superb! Buy one, you will not be disappointed!
I bought my XE 35T used the other year with 50k on it. Its almost at 100k and i've had 0 issues. Just like in the video it has its little quirks, the ergonomics you get used to its not to bad, the seat does have a little squeak sometimes but with music on you don't notice it. The car drives great, handles fantastic and is honestly a joy to drive. So far any parts i've replaced mostly just cosmetic stuff but looked at pricing for random things have been cheaper then parts were for my VW GLI. Maintenance wise going to the dealership is always more expensive especially when you're like me and you do your oil changes every 8-10k instead of the 20k they say. So instead i get mine done at the local euro shop. Overall i love the car and honestly my next car will be another jaguar at this point in time that's how happy I am with it. At this point in time all cars are equally unreliable and have their own issues buy what makes you happy/what you like the most.
I’ve had my XE S v6 for 4 years and it’s the best car I’ve had. I had an M3 before the jag. But my xe is awesome. Every time I think of changing I just can’t part with. Never had any issues with it and it’s so much fun to drive.
I am in exactly same position. Owned my XE S 380bhp for 3.5 years and it has been virtually faultless. Still looks great and just about practical enough for a family car. When the warranty expired I finally decided to enhance the performance, not that it needed it to be honest! Currently running around 460bhp with around 560nm torque the performance is frankly breathtaking.
I bought mine new in 2018. I live in the UK. Rock solid. No issues. Absolutely nothing that is described here. I have the ingenium diesel. Fantastic engine.
I think I've watched most of your reviews and you've scared me off anything more advanced than a carby fed straight 6 pushrod engine and 3 speed auto (they have their problems too from experience). Overwhelming list of pros and mainly cons to consider when sizing up vehicles nowadays. Keep up the great work guys.
After having a few Lexus ISs, BMW3s and X4s, the Jaguar XE was my favourite. All were used vehicles with over 100000 kms in Australia. As I swap vehicles frequently, I never had any major issues with any of these cars. But my 2015 XE 20T Prestige with 140000 kms was a sheer pleasure to own and drive. Not a squeak, rattle, or failure in the 18 months I owned it. I would buy another one in a heartbeat, but only petrol (20T or 25T) and before 2017 when they got rid of the Ford Ecoboost engine. I'm sure, as with most brands, there are common issues, but I certainly didn't see any of them. Better then a 3 series in terms of handling, way more attractive and somehow you feel 'special' when driving it. Great and fair review, but I would not hesitate to purchase another, prior to 2017 though. Love your reviews - keep it up!
The 35t is a beast of a car and worth every penny. Every time you sit in it for a drive, it puts a big smile on your face. Do you maintenance and you'll be satisfied for many years.
Bought a new one five year's ago do low miles not had to buy anything so far.had a enfotainment problem fixed eventually under warranty .has been a fantastic car.
I have a jag xe s it's the v6 super charged version currently have it modded close to 500hp. 38k miles haven't had a problem yet. Knock on wood. I do get it serviced every 5k miles and the transmission I'm going service at 40k miles. It's a dream to drive love my jaguar
I've got 80k on mine without any issues so far. The S is such an underrated car though. I agree with reviews being "Meh" about every other trim line but the S is perfection.
Hi I have the 35t v6s also and I've done a few mods intake, tune, bigger crank and supercharger pullys , performance spark plugs mag wheels and perillie p0 tires I'm super happy with my xe and all my upgrades I'm interested to hear what you have done to yours I'm thinking of getting better cams next
Good to see you've gone back to your old format... I've always preferred this format to the last one you had though I'm not against experimenting with new things on the channel...
I have a 2 .0 diesel manual and it's been solid , I got it at 50000 miles and already on 113000 just tyres pads discs and regular servicing (every 10k )
I had a 2017 XES ( supercharged V6) from new for 6 years. Nothing went wrong until the navigation played up- the dealer had it for 5 weeks trying to fix it! They finally got some updates from JLR in the UK. Time to change, so I bought a C43. What hasn’t been mentioned is the possibility with the V6 of catastrophic coolant leaks. There are pipes that run under the supercharger that are made of plastic that will eventually succumb to heat and just blow out along a seam in them. By the time you can pull over the engine has overheated and warped the heads, needing a new engine.
I drove the XE 20d for 4 years. Now I got the facelifted XE P250. Had no problems at all with both cars. Love the XE and if they weren't discontinued I would buy the next generation for sure
I do not think Jag are any less reliable these days than Audi, Merc or BMW. They all seem to have the same issues with electronics. I am not upper middle class wealthy so I stay away from cars like these as I cannot afford to fix them if they go tits up. I just stick with the Fords, Vauxhalls, Hyundais, Kia and the like. I would love an AMG C63 Merc or BMW M3 but until I start getting rock star wages I'll have to make do with my Vauxhall Astra estate 😆.
Noticed that you guys have gone back to the old format so I'm wondering if you're still trying to find the sweet spot for it or not. Either way it doesn't effect the quality of the work you guys manage to do on a consistent basis. Had to laugh at the safety features overview as it was funny but he was right as well regarding most of the "safety" tech. I think this is the first vehicle you've actually been able to show what you meant by the panel gap misalignment. Over all gents another well made and enjoyable video. Keep up the good work, stay safe over the weekend and look forward to next week's videos 👍.
Externally looks a lot like a Ford Falcon FGX and for the money I would take an fgx xr8 or xr6 turbo any day over this. Add some shockworks coilovers and you would have a much better reliable package that can handle the wear and much more suited for aust conditions. When you see this, you realise just how underrated Aussie made cars were. You have reviewed many fords ,however an fgx xr8 review would be appreciated.
I don't agree. The Jaguar XF is the one that's about the same size and shape as a Falcon. The XE is quite a bit smaller. So it should be the Jaguar XF that gets compared. With all due respect to the Falcon, the XF feels a lot more upscale -- it kind of feels like a really posh Falcon, the driving position and A-pillar angles and so are pretty similar but the XF's trim, leather etc is quite a bit nicer than even a G6E Falcon. Given the way Falcon and G6E prices are inflating, it actually could even be cheaper to buy a 2010 Jaguar XF than a 2010 Falcon G6E!🙂 Some people are looking for a luxury car to be simply a luxury car and not a performance car too. Hence the sales of E Classes and XFs with the smaller four-cylinder engines and diesel engines. So on that front, the XF arguably fits the bill better than the Falcon too. I don't like diesels myself, but if someone does and does big mileage then the 2.7L diesel from the Territory is available in the XF where it is not available in the G6E either.
@@TassieLorenzo The problem in the equation, as with most European cars is when something goes wrong with them, bloody costly. Also inherently the more complex the car the more potential points for failure and that flashy trim starts looking when tired km get up there. Yep go gracious cruising around the nice metro roads areas probably will last ok and a good choice. Take it on country highways and a few potholes here and there and I think that you will find that there is a big reason these things depreciate so much, not designed for Aust conditions and very costly to fix. Again credit to our defunct car industry especially if you compare price when new!! Ultimately up to the buyer and their wants. For me a hand built super charged v8 in the falcon would be way ahead of a 2L or diesel powered EF, even with the supercharged 3.0L being still well behind the S.C Miami V8 with the possibility of lasting hundreds of thousands of km.
I fell in love with the XKE 4.2lt fast back. It's lights were crap, brakes were woeful and suspension was not good to say the least but the most beautiful car ever made. The Mk2 was a great car.
I've owned many nice sports cars over the years - but never a Jaguar. I always wanted one as my dad owned a beautiful xj12 that had the twin gas tanks, and classic interior. I sold the bmw 535, and got a 2018 xe r sport 35t with 45000 miles on it. It was already a supercharged dream to drive. But then I went down the rabbit hole. Supercharger air intake pipes and filters, lower and upper pulleys and supercharger belt upgrades from Mina Gallery, a full tune from Velocity Auto Performance, sport cat downpipes from Fabspeed, and this car is incredible. The sound of the supercharger just screams, and the exhaust, which are stock, sounds like a v8 F type. I have not put it on a Dyno, but it must be well above 450 HP at the wheels at this point if not more. I simply love this car and have already put 30k miles on it.
Have had a xe rsport petrol 2.0 from new,big discount because i worked there.five and a half years old now only problem was main module had to be replaced reluctantly done under warranty 6 visits.a new battery after 5 years only done 23 thousand miles altogether, fantastic car .
As a British person, that English accent (I think he was trying to do a Cockney accent) was terrible!!!🤣 Constantly great reviews help with decisions on buying a used car.
This is like a hot bridesmaid/groomsman that looks great at the service, but throughout the reception reveals they are a bit rough around the edges... And ends the night with a spew on the dance floor. Only after a snog on the balcony does everyone tell you it's well know why they are still single. They live with their crazy sibling Alpha Romeo and are destined to be old spinsters in a musty old house.
2018 Jaguar XE S, 40000 miles by now. Definitely had its own issues, but for me, not nearly as bad as they make out to be in the video. Problem with the infotainment was pretty annoying but went to the dealership once and they fixed it for me in an hour. No mechanical problems whatsoever, even after VAP tune and crank pulley replacement, though I do service it very diligently. Yes, it's a pain in the ass sometimes, but the car feels so much more special than the 4 series and Mercedes SUV I drove before. The Mercedes turbo 8 cylinder had WAY more problems than the Jag as well... Never regretted my purchase.
BMW 3 series owner here. I highly do not recommend 9/10. Over the years it becomes a little death trap. Relays, window motors, fuses, replaced harnesses replaced and let’s not forget my favorite, are you ready, the brain to the battery in the rear. If it malfunctions while driving then I hope an ems is near. This seems a bit safer. A little background, I’ve owned a Mercedes c class, BMW 3 series, and a gmc. I’m not a fan of recalls but I haven’t heard much about this model.
I kinda hate that we only have a single reliable compact luxury sedan to fall back on (and that’s now discontinued). Lexus infotainment sucks and the amount of power they extract from what seems like a big meaty engine is a joke. If we are comparing used 2014 models (which I did personally), despite the Lexus IS costing twice as much as my Mazda3 brand new, it lacks key tech that I enjoy using on every drive like CarPlay on the stock touchscreen, a heads up display and a rotary BMW style controller rather than the awful mouse-joystick-touchpad contraption Lexus uses. At this point I have my reliable compact luxury car hopes pinned on either a Genesis G70 or another top trim Mazda if they continue to push upmarket in interior quality in the next generation.
@@shanecameron7869 We have the same car! 2014 SP25 GT gang :) My only real complaint is the road noise and some creaky plastics, otherwise for what is a mainstream 2014 small car, it’s stylish, well equipped, handles alright and being the 2.5L, has decent poke for a small car.
@@lukeclifton4392 Nah I stand by that Toyotas are far worse even to this day. At least the 2019+ Mazdas (3, CX-30, CX-60, etc) have the new infotainment system and it’s actually one of the better ones I’ve seen. Same with the proper HUD. But the old MZD Connect, while subpar by 2023 standards, was probably ahead of the pack in 2014. It’s one of the only cars of that age that I could get CarPlay added to the stock system without ripping it out and going aftermarket, which I’d really not like to do. Again the HUD is dinky, and on the pre 2016 BN facelift looks like a microwave display lol but compared to a 2014 Golf, Corolla, Civic, Focus, i30, Cerato, etc somethings better than nothing.
Iv got a portfolio with cream interior. Il tell you, there's definitely a difference between the quality you get in a prestige, r sport and portfolio. Portfolio you get the best soft leather and better finish and interior materials
I've owned my XE 35T R-sport for about three years now. I've added an intake for the extra supercharger whine and better breathing. This car is under rated for sure. The one downside I've had so far is the damn Pirelli P-zero's, those tires are amazing but do not last. $375 for the front, $450 for the rear... Each.
Hello I also have an xe that I love and I feel is truly underrated I also upgraded my intake and I have the p0s as well here in the US they were around $600 per tire best tires I've ever had but it's also the most I have ever paid for tires I also have mags on the wheels although I love the tires I probably won't spend that much on tires again but boy are they fun while I have them😊❤
They info I got here in the UK is slightly different. I researched before buying my xe and all the info online and forums pointed to that the petrol was more reliable and it was the for eco boost engine that was the one having the issues. I have 19 plate xe petrol and have to say feels solid, drives better than other cars I've had including mercedes c class cars. Looks and drives better than the competition. The thing is now it's all about maintaining your car regardless of what it is you buy. Oil is the blood of a car so keep it fresh and treat the car right and sure it be fine. Harshy with it and neglect your car I'm sure no matter what make it will have issues.
Just to let you know Ian Callum was also a designer for HSV. If memory serves me correct he designed the VS commodore range of HSV's and possibly the VT range as well. One thing that I have learnt from watching your videos well more precisely from Jim is to service your vehicles more often than what the manufacturer recommends. It clearly is a marketing gimmick to get people to buy their vehicles. Subaru receive criticism for having relatively short service intervals but I think Subaru are being realistic. Six month intervals I think are the sweet spot and servicing things like the gearbox more often can only be a benefit. Anyone who buys a Jaguar would have to be mad. With poor customer support on top of bad reliability issues when there are better options from Genesis, Kia and Lexus, then why would anyone torture themselves buying a Jaguar.
On a random note, the rear of these are a dead ringer for the FGX Falcons. But yea to your last paragraph, status probably - people go ooh and aah towards upmarket heritage Euro brands while upmarket offshoots of mainstream Japanese/Korean brands don’t get that sort of love. At least not here in Australia, Americans on the other hand seem to be lapping up Lexuses, Acuras and Infinitis - I’m pretty sure Lexus was their No. 1 luxury brand in the mid 2000s well ahead of Mercedes and BMW. If there’s one American trend I like its the near-luxury car brands. I’d like something more upmarket but I’m not made of money, and right now it’s either a high trim mainstream car that often drives fairly ordinarily or a barebones luxury car that arguably is built and drives better but is multitudes more expensive and everything is optional.
Good wrap up. I love Jags, and have pondered getting one of these. But I think you're right. It's probably not worth it as a used proposition for most people. Shame, it's a great looking car
I have a xe s v6 380hp, water pump problem at 70000kms jaguar fixed under garantee. But not other problems, its now with almost 90000kms. This car is not my daily driver. No infotainment problem or other problems. Just service at jaguar workshop is not cheap. But it's a fun car 👍
The problem with this article is he tested the wrong model of the XE. The Diesel he drove is made for economy...many hyper-milers get over 50 with the Diesel. The Jaguar XE R-Sport has 340HP, and is easily tuned to 553BHp on E85. Pretty close to the 595Hp in the P8, with a Six Cylinder. I'm on my second tuned XE 35t, the first XE sacrificed it's usable life for my life in a 50Mph head first collision. I walked away without a scratch. We will take it to Texas Mile in October, I'm likely to be one of the only Jaguars there.
Aw no its finally happend! The in video adds have started!, ohwell it had to happen at some point, peoples gotta get payed, well done lads, keep up the good work, love the chanel 👍👌
Moved to jaguar in 2018, dabbled in a second hand XE petrol and had 4 years totally trouble free motoring, I have never driven a car quite like it in my life, Audi, BMW, Merc are just boring in looks and especially drive. I bought a special edition Reims in 2022 with 10k on the clock and it's so good am never going to sell it. It's a huge head turner as it looks magnificent in French racing blue with the blacked out roof, wheels, mirrors and windows. It drives so well on country roads, I often see BMW and Audi or boy racers in their golf right up my pipes as I drive 60mph but on the bends I rarely slow down if I can see clearly ahead and my Jag sticks to the road like glue and I always smirk as I look in the mirror and see the car behind fall back as they brake. So 2 Jags both 2nd hand over 6 years and the only replacement bits were front brake disks on my first car. This is why Jag drivers look smug, we know we are driving the best cars :)
They are because of the ridiculous service intervals which is too long. A lot fail because people don't check oil levels which these diesels do use up over the miles, so the hydraulic timing chain tensioners ends up with no oil to push them. Or the oil quality dimishes and level goes too low to the point the timing chain doesn't have oil to lubricate it leading to friction and stretching. I do changes at 8000k on mine. Audi and Mercedes have similar issues but they are less due to service intervals being encouraged sooner.. Jaguar Land rover marketing department needs schooling on engines
@@teem5642 All JLR product with these engines have warnings to tell u if oil level is low. The dash will tell u when a service is due. DPF Regenerations do dilute the oil When oil gets too diluted, the car will also tell u that u need to change oil etc. I totally agree that 2 yr / 34,000 km Service Intervals are ridiculous Should be every 12 months / max 20,000 km The fact that soooo many Ingenium 4 cylinder diesel motors have problems, indicates that these engines have design issues…
I have 2017 20t xe. Zero problems but low milage 40k km. An xe is very impractical 🤣 long rear doors, small boot opening. Drives very good and sportif, really nice engine noise. Automatic zf gearboxes need indeed fresh oil after 60k km but modern standards say its sealed for life -> problems to come.
The fact that Haval vehicles also feature the rotating gear selector just goes to show that the Chinese know good taste, if they base it off such an epic icon in vehicle manufacturing.
hi mate. I have owned UK market Lexus is300h (hybrid) for a year now. It's a 2014 plate, 42k miles on the clock (now 59k ) , and the following has gone wrong : entire mirror replaced due to failure, front caliper seized , killing the discs and pads , the front parking sensor is failing intermittently (yet to be fixed) . Luckily I've only paid 150 GBP + my fuel to get to the dealer to get the issues it fixed, as the car is on 10 years Lexus relax warranty. When the technicians replaced the mirror, they had to took the door card off, they damaged the window mechanism and the buttons assembly, deep scratched on the card. I need to get back to them to again to correct the window and re-seat the buttons cluster. Apart from that the interior trim in the centre makes bad rattle in corners, the leather is mega gentle, overall the materials inside the cabin are not as durable as BMW f30 or e9X series would be. The paint is very weak as well. Despite the car working well otherwise, I will be getting rid of it a few months before the warranty expires. The wait for some parts from Japan is scary, as well as lack of specialists around me to fix it when it's out of warranty. I guess I would be complaining less if the car was cheaper to buy in the first place , but it was not so my expectations were high.
@@kamilianos Well, you're not lucky. Yours is the first generation that had a few issues of course. Mine is a second generation from late 2018. I had it new and i didn't experience all your probems. And many Lexus IS owners in France don't complain at all about those cars. You may have had the wrong one. Sorry for you.
@@kamilianos while that’s not great, I still think those problems pale in comparison to the kind of things that regularly go wrong in a competitor A4, C Class or 3 Series from failed water pumps, oil leaks or outright transmission failure - the kind of issues that render a car undriveable - on top of the same electronic component failures you’ve faced. That said being in Europe I can see why the tables flip in terms of shipping costs and wait time to get parts from Japan vs Germany. It’s the other way around in Australia, and I have to assume the US too.
I'm running a 2016 25T R-sport I bought from brand new and done 52K kms, overall solid reliability (pleasantly surprised!) Issues I've had are: 1) failed shock absorber, replaced under warranty and 2) creaky door trim, replaced under warranty (broken clip). I feel this was a poor review, I'm not a fanboy and I've never seen those issues with panel gaps on other XE's. The XE is dynamically superior to 3 series, C-Class and A4 and rides beautifully. Very similar to Alfa Guilia. Downside is interior quality is inferior to the Germans materials.
Would be nice to get an Octavia review in, Superb’s fine but the Octy outsold it in a ratio of multitudes and there’s probably more of them out in the used market and/or more demand for them.
@@User-cb4jm I get that the Octavia is a lot more popular, but I am genuinely considering pulling the trigger on a Superb wagon because it has even more of pretty much all the lovely practical bits that the Octavia has.
A friend of mine has a 2016 XE 25T R-Sport (4 cylinder gas turbo) with 80,000 miles. The timing chain broke, and she is now looking at a $8000 repair as it ruined the engine.
Again, nice video and lots of information! Thanks for making this! I've been narrowing down the options as my wife's next ride, and the XE is the closest contender to the top choice, W204 or W205 C Merc. I like the handling of the XE more than W205, and I really like how the Jag makes the driver feel more 'special', kind of. You can also grab a moderately used one a great deal cheaper than a W205 of same age & mileage. However, with the mrs putting another 100k through this car in next 3 years or so, I'm pretty sure the Merc will keep its resale value MUCH better than the XE. Which is understandable, but kind of sad. The possible foibles & repairs... Well, we've had a Volvo in our household, and despite the expensive spare parts and stupidly complicated engineering (which made certain repairs really expensive), it was still just a Volvo. And we also had a BMW in the past, and no matter how much money you threw into repairing small & moderate issues in it (hint: A LOT of money), it couldn't fix the issue that it still was a BMW with painfully firm ride. And, the single most expensive repairs we've ever had to do in our household cars are still Hyundai and Nissan. ;-)
I own an xe and I simply love it I've had no major issues at all I do change my oil every 5k though and I change the atf 50k I've also gotten better spark plugs but I didn't need them I just wanted them lol
@@andrewparker3563 Nothing yet, the Mrs likes W205 Mercedes a lot, but then she sat inside 2020 Ford Kuga and liked the raised seating position. She still wants to test drive a Kuga, but as my car already fills the designated 'adventure vehicle' slot in our household (SUV or pickup), I've been trying to convince her the more car-like W205. ;-)
Good luck, boss 👍 I've driven the Kuga, it's great and the head up display is good, but I'm still more a car guy! That said, jumping between an SUV and a car might be a bit jarring
I just came here to read the comments from owners claiming their Jaguar have been as reliable/durable as a Lexus. About they have gone a million kilometers with only a occasional oil change and windshield washer fluid top up. Even the most problematic vehicles have the occasional unicorn but the overwhelming majority of owners don't experience trouble free service.
I owned an xe s v6 for 5 years and zero issues :-) . Never met anyone outside the internet that has , they are not a commonplace as other brands I will admit . Now on an f pace for couple of years ..touch wood faultless so far !
I've got a 2015 XE. It has ridiculously good handling and ride. It's really unreliable. I am still pushing through on expensive repairs and will sell my BMW 5 Series backup when I can.
I have owed one of the 2.0l ingenuim powered XE for almost three years and its done 50 odd thousand miles ive serviced it myself because the 20,000mile service interval is a joke just dont. 12,000 is my point and my car has been a bloody gem nothing but servicing consumables like pads Etc and a pair of the notorious engine mounts is all its cost me passed its MOT no advisories every year its powerful and i get up to 61MPG on a long motorway run and mid 40s going to work and back. so would i buy one again HELL YESSSS... O Ps try learning how to drive it with the paddles and tell me its slow...
I have a Jaguar xe 2017. An issue that I have now. And what I've read is that the engine mounts tend to break. Causes a lot of vibrations when idle. Easily fixed at the car shop. But expensive. I wanted to do it myself, but there is no parts to be found in Sweden. :(

@@UnitedKingdomGovernment Good point!
I bought a 2.0 diesel 2018 yesterday, what consum u have in at rush hour in city. I drove only at night and i have 5.8-6.
Same story with me. It replaced a BMW Series 3; quality is the same.
Wasn't sure it was possible, but the safety tech segment just keeps getting better! Nice job Barney.
Good on you, Steve. Thanks for commenting!

By the time you can pull over the engine has overheated and warped the heads, needing a new engine.
change the oil in the gearbox when you change the engine, gold jim gold.
Loved the British rhyming slang in the safety features..hilarious 😂
Hey mate, would really love for a section for audio systems! I think it makes a massive difference and feel like most reviewers miss it!
It really does, I had a dodge Avenger (uk) and it had the Boston sound system...that alone made me forgive the cars terrible interior lol
100% The audio system in this car was one of the reasons we chose it (S trim). It's absolutely impeccable.
Jaguar is the epitome of that top gear meme template of "this is brilliant, but I like this"
Noticed that you guys have gone back to the old format so I'm wondering if you're still trying to find the sweet spot for it or not.
Given the way Falcon and G6E prices are inflating, it actually could even be cheaper to buy a 2010 Jaguar XF than a 2010 Falcon G6E!🙂
Some people are looking for a luxury car to be simply a luxury car and not a performance car too.

I know you've got a list of cars and requests but I'd love to see the Stype Jag on here. By all accounts not too bad. A future classic I'm considering
Lexus IS every day of the week.
@@User-cb4jm I have to say, I am pretty happy with my 2014 SP25GT.
@@User-cb4jm Agreed, Toyota infotainment is abhorrent… but Mazda’s isn’t much better either and what’s up with Mazda’s pathetic excuse for a HUD😂😂.

Each.
They recommend Michelin pilotsprt 4.. Far better
Hello I also have an xe that I love and I feel is truly underrated I also upgraded my intake and I have the p0s as well here in the US they were around $600 per tire best tires I've ever had but it's also the most I have ever paid for tires I also have mags on the wheels although I love the tires I probably won't spend that much on tires again but boy are they fun while I have them😊❤
Owe and I also have the 35t but I have awd version it took me a while to find an awd for sale in Maryland
Please do a video on the scion/Toyota iQ! Just about to buy one and I wish you had a video for it! Cheers!
With poor customer support on top of bad reliability issues when there are better options from Genesis, Kia and Lexus, then why would anyone torture themselves buying a Jaguar.
you are correct re HSV, add to that DB7, TWR, Volvo C70 Coupe, Nissan R390, RS2000..............a bit of an overachiever really

Well, the answer is obvious.. because it's a "Jaaaaaag."

Good wrap up. I love Jags, and have pondered getting one of these. But I think you're right. It's probably not worth it as a used proposition for most people. Shame, it's a great looking car

You missed the ingenium diesel chain issue. Which is major in UK

Jags, the Alfa Romeo of the uk.. if you drive one, you’re probably cool, have impeccable taste.. and a gold AA membership.
The Diesels are notorious here in the UK for self destructing timing chains absolute 💩 show of a Engine.
Same situation in Australia
They are because of the ridiculous service intervals which is too long. A lot fail because people don't check oil levels which these diesels do use up over the miles, so the hydraulic timing chain tensioners ends up with no oil to push them. Or the oil quality dimishes and level goes too low to the point the timing chain doesn't have oil to lubricate it leading to friction and stretching. I do changes at 8000k on mine. Audi and Mercedes have similar issues but they are less due to service intervals being encouraged sooner.. Jaguar Land rover marketing department needs schooling on engines
@@teem5642
All JLR product with these engines have warnings to tell u if oil level is low.
The dash will tell u when a service is due.
DPF Regenerations do dilute the oil
When oil gets too diluted, the car will also tell u that u need to change oil etc.
I totally agree that
2 yr / 34,000 km Service Intervals are ridiculous
Should be every 12 months / max 20,000 km
The fact that soooo many Ingenium 4 cylinder diesel motors have problems, indicates that these engines have design issues…
I'll keep my old W211......cheers for that Jaguar don't change 😆

Yes! Take one of those over this any day.
The fact that Haval vehicles also feature the rotating gear selector just goes to show that the Chinese know good taste, if they base it off such an epic icon in vehicle manufacturing.
I'll get the Lexus IS. It's extremely reliable, it looks great, and you can use it for a very very long time without any issues
I bought a BMW 3, but in retrospect I think a G70 or an IS would have been a better idea.
No chance.

Thanks for a great review, you forgot the I control function,
Again, nice video and lots of information!
What did you go for? 👍
@@andrewparker3563 Nothing yet, the Mrs likes W205 Mercedes a lot, but then she sat inside 2020 Ford Kuga and liked the raised seating position.

Got a 2016 XE 2.0d Prestige with 70000km, no issues at all and fun to drive.
I owned an xe s v6 for 5 years and zero issues :-) . Never met anyone outside the internet that has , they are not a commonplace as other brands I will admit . Now on an f pace for couple of years ..touch wood faultless so far !
Great vid, thanks!
I've got a 2015 XE. It has ridiculously good handling and ride. It's really unreliable. I am still pushing through on expensive repairs and will sell my BMW 5 Series backup when I can.
Japanese cars: Made with love, attention to detail and care.
British cars: Made with contempt, vitriol and disdain.
You talk rubbish
but i'd have a Calais v also really funny safety guy or guy reading out the safety tech
I'd probably do the same, since the Calais will be more reliable and you can get them in a V8...
Mmmm, what engine will I have in my Aston Martin 🤔 ?
Ooh, I know, a 4 cylinder diesel 😛
:D Crappy roads, good one. Here watching from South Devon - UK
Good vid as always
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just bought one 😮. Wish I watched this 😭
how has it been so far?
Nice video! Nope, won’t buy that, would rather get an IS!
2020 Jag,no issues
Passat R206 from MY21 - Winning
there is a fly on the dashboard ... does it come standard ?
It's the best looking compact luxury car
Well, I've been put off by BMWs dodgy engine quality and Mercedes lack of interest in their customers. I bought a Jag XF S 3.0. What a beast
Imagine lexus reliability with Jag XE looks.
You guys have to do a VZ commodore of sorts.
It’s on the list!
Harrumph, It still looks like a modified Ford Taurus.
Up to 2010?, maybe unreliable, but DAMN, Jaguars were beautiful!
Well, not long till you get to drive a big "yes!" soon.
PLEASE DO TOYOTA CROWN GRS204!
A good review
