Daniel, Revelation, etc.). We shouldn't freak out like it's the end of the world, but yes there is definitely room for concern for sure. I'm just saying that in the long run God works through all things for the good of those who love him. It is in this that is the theological virtue of Hope.

Those of great faith will not have their hearts and minds troubled by suffering for the good. However, let us not forget that even St. Peter denied being a disciple of Jesus three times, when a little time before he had said that he would never abandon Him.
We are human beings, and we are frail creatures. Thankfully, God forgiveness is so great that it cannot be measured (St. Augustine).
Meanwhile, we can still offer our suffering for the redemption of souls of Purgatory and for the conversion of non-believers.

Yeah, Jesus was not speaking of the Roman Catholic Church in Matthew 16. What Jesus spoke of was the Body of Christ, which is His church, not an earthly organization or building. Acts 7:48 tells us that "the Most High does not dwell in houses made by human hands". Our bodies are the Temple when we believe in the Gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4), but you cannot add to or subtract from the perfect work of Jesus on the cross. Galatians chapter 1 has the sternest of warnings for those who add to or subtract from Scripture.
As a former Roman Catholic, a lecter, and EME, and a Deacon Candidate, I started reading Scripture on my own, as we are encouraged to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When Jesus was crucified, the temple veil was torn asunder, which now means that we have direct communication to God the Father, through His son Jesus Christ, while being indwelt with the Holy Spirit. Only those who believe in the Gospel receive the Holy Spirit. It is not through the "sacrament" of confirmation or any other process.
When one reads Scripture on your own, you will start to understand how quickly you should depart from the Roman Catholic Church, as the latter chapters in Revelation speak of the Great Whore wearing purple (RCC Bishops) and scarlet (RCC Cardinals), and it strictly tells each and every RCC member to "come out of her my people!". One must also study history and when one studies early church history, they will discover that manuscripts of the Bible existed and were destroyed by Emperor Diocletian. When Emperor Nero couldn't kill enough Christians, those who believed in the Gospel (and they weren't RCC members), would cause mass conversion to belief in the Gospel by the way they were martyred.
Then came Emperor Constantine, the first Roman Catholic Pope. When he realized he couldn't kill Christianity entirely, he sought to corrupt it from within. Constantine declared that everyone would now be Christian, and if they wouldn't convert, they were put to death. All of the pagan rituals from pagan Rome were brought into the RCC and now it is your "tradition". Just look at what francis is doing, and the document on apparitions that is coming out on May 17, 2024. francis has also blasphemed the Ten Commandments further (as they were changed by the RCC many decades ago) by issuing the "Ten Climate Commandments". francis has also said that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is "dangerous".
Why is this "dangerous" you may ask? It is "dangerous" to the Vatican for anyone to believe their is salvation outside of the RCC. I implore you to read the book of Revelation and specifically focus on the seven churches in Revelation 2-3, and read about the Church of Thyatira. I know many Roman Catholics who love Jesus Christ and believe the words of John 3:16, and 1 Cor. 15:1-4, but remember that Galatians 1 tells you that you are "accursed" if you add to or take away from the Gospel, which is what all of your "traditions" are doing.
I share this message with love and not hatred. I implore you not to rely on the false argument that the RCC "gave us the Bible" and that "the RCC is the oldest form of Christianity". I implore you to read the book entitled "Pagan Christianity" by Frank Viola. It really opened my eyes to how a lot of mainline Protestant churches are conforming to the antichrist ways of the RCC again. I'm going to pray for you Michelle. That the Holy Spirit will guide you and that you will truly seek the narrow path that few find, and remember the simplicity yet profound words of John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever would BELIEVE in Him, would have eternal life."
We are even told that we cannot inherit the Kingdom of Heaven unless we have faith like a child. None of the "traditions" save you, and all they are is idle worship. Also, please do not pray to Mary as the dead hear nothing, and Mary was a sinner (Romans 3:23) as well. If you have questions about that, I'd recommend you look up the worship of the gods, Semiramus and Tamuz. Blessings to you, and please depart from that evil organization. people are quick to judge our Creator but refuse to acknowledge the possibility that their perspective/ moral might be wrong and is causing grave harm to others. society is obessed with wanting to be nice in so as far as they benefiy from it, espousing partial truths and many lies. i have gotten into arguements with my friends because they refuse to acknowledge baisc fundemental truths, opting instead to operate from a moral relativistic point of view. the amount of time i have been told watch it or drop it "because i have friends in that lifestyle" is discouraging especially when you know your friend genuinely wants to be a good person. i try my best to come across as charitable as i can gjven that i am autistic but i find the truth is offenssive to those who don't agree with what it states.

When I look at the acceleration of depravity in our culture, it honestly makes me question how many people were true Christians to begin with. I honestly believe true believers have always been in the minority. Most people just go along with whatever is socially convenient, whether it be religious or secular. Many people in the past, for example, didn’t abstain from sexual immorality because they wanted to please God, but only because they were worried about what their friends or family might say. I'm was raised a non denominational l evangelical, here in the US. Even if the Christian believers are reduced to 2% of the population, I'm intent that my wife and children are among them.

Here's the problem though. We are told in Scripture that one must "be as a child" in their faith otherwise they will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. What does this mean to the believer? This means that if you add to or subtract from the Gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4), then you are saved! John 3:16 reaffirms this Gospel, and no works are to be added to it. "Traditions" are works, and I will say the same about church attendance. I'm a former Roman Catholic, who identifies as a Christian, and I can assuredly tell you that attending church does not save you. Most churches preach a false gospel, which is severely warned against in Galations 1, as well as Revelation 22.
The word "Vatican" in Latin literally means "Divining Serpent" and the Papal Audience Hall is shaped like the head of a serpent. Folks, they are literally telling you by showing you these things. Revelation 18 speaks to people who are adherents of the future one world religion/government that francis is setting up as we speak. Why do you think we are getting guidance from the Vatican with a press conference tomorrow about apparitions? I'm very curious as to what it says, as francis has said that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is "dangerous".

Scientists do not start knowing the outcome. The misinformation is given to you by those who manipulate or change the data to fit their purpose.
As far as science, getting things wrong, of course, it does. It is the act of discovery. True scientists only release information once it can be confirmed. Could they still be wrong? Yes.
If you can prove it wrong, then do it. That's how science works.

The guy is talking about the culture, the world in which we live. There will always be Christians (or at least Christianity), since scripture declares it so, but having the bigger picture described and laid out and the trajectory ahead, is helpful, at least to me. Helps me figure out how to navigate in a changing, souring world (as I am an older single woman and have a business). I've gotten to the point of wanting to cut myself off from most media ~ even conservatively-sourced news. Just don't want to spend time on the details of the world falling apart. This channel is one of the few I leave myself open to. Thank you, Matt, for hosting this guest. I will be eager to watch more of this interview.
I feel the same and i think it comes from fear. Thats why im saying this to you to maybe help if i can. Whenever i try to figure out stuff or handle them mentaly, intelectualy, alone, without Jesus, without actually seeking his presence, seeing him by my side, strong but kind, while being in full control of everything thats going on, then the fear happens and i want to separate myself from the bad news and stress. What we need to focus on is Him and us really living the life of loving and doing the way that makes Him happy. Seek it always, even if it means losing every job we get because we wanted to (kindly) protect the truth. When you get Christ, everything else is losable.
Good way for you to go. The secular news media is a pack of lies, and as you say, you cut yourself off from conservative news sources too. It is negative. We do not need to be deluged with negativity, even while we keep one eye open as to what is happening.
I think what Matt said at the end is one of the main problems that people who are purely "political conservatives" or "political libertarians" have--not understanding that those of their political principles which are good are the result of thousands of years of a Christian worldview. They boil it down to politics. We're enjoying running on the very last fumes of the goodwill of Christendom. I witnessed nurses mocking a patient (who was out of his right mind) in the hospital. Why not if it's just a job and "nothing is true, everything is permissable." As a former teacher I know that it's a lot more difficult to build up than it is to tear down. god sure has allowed us to live in a time when there's plenty we can do for Him!
I was waiting to be seen in the ER a few years ago. It was crowded. I could see a man all the way across the room who was struggling to sit upright in his wheelchair. He had cerebral palsy and the wheelchair wasn’t the right kind of chair for him. He needed one that reclined back a little. He was slipping down and kept trying to push himself up to stay in the chair. His shoes were coming off as he did this. No one was helping him. I walked over to him and tried to help him put his shoes on and get him upright in his chair. He had vomit on the front of his shirt and his feet were filthy. I was recovering from delivering my stillborn daughter (her funeral was that day). I went to the ER because my legs were swollen and I was having clots in my varicose veins and needed to get checked for DVT. There was only so much I could do to help this poor man! I looked over at a security guard and asked for his help and he said, “We aren’t allowed to touch him.” I just couldn’t believe that a grown, strong man wouldn’t do anything!!! I was shocked! I looked at the man in the wheelchair again and said, “I’m sorry. I wish I could help you.” He said, “God bless you.” I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. I intended to stay with him until either one of us was called back to be seen, but by the time I returned he was gone so they must have taken him back, thanks be to God!

@@iliya3110 You certainly have a point, and as far as I know the dialogue between Catholics and Orthodox continues. Patriarch Bartholomew is on excellent terms with Pope Francis as it was with Pope Benedict. Francis gave Bartholomew fragments of the bones of St. Peter, and Bartholomew rejoiced at this. Even in my ignorance, I reckon that the Orthodox have kept the apostolic succession and the seven sacraments. If I do not find a Catholic Church, I am perfectly allowed to worship in an Orthodox church.
And, on more "personal" issue, I admire Orthodox's focus on introspection and the mystery of God's presence and works. We Catholics sometimes dwell too much in logic rules and laws, I think.
But both of us are "almost" at war with aggressive secularism, and now it is not the time to underlines the differences, especially when, as I said, there is much more that unites than what divides.
When I was in the US, I used to talk to an Orthodox friend of mine, to gather some courage after feeling very discomforted because of the rapid secularization of American society. After 10+ years and now 10000 miles apart, we are still in touch.
I am trying to be positive, and I am sorry if I do not manage to. May God always bless our Orthodox brothers and sisters.

Did you know that purgatory does not exist but rather was an invention of the Catholic Church? I don’t think that’s what this is about. Many in the Christian and conservative world are saying the same thing. People I know personally are all noticing this. To be sure, yes, alarmism does sell. But what else ought someone do when he is trying to warn others? I think this is a reasonable approach.

Dr. Peter Jones (Protestant) talks about paganism in terms of “One-ism,” (no Creator, creation distinction) as opposed to Biblical Two-ism (Creator and creation). As Paul notes in Romans 1, once you abandoned the distinctions between God and nature, the result is an abandonment of distinctions between human beings…who are not “autonomous selves” but reflect the image of what they worship. Whether “all is one” materially (atheism) or “all is one” spiritually (pantheism), paganism essentially “one-ifies” everything, overturning classical theism (Two). It seems that the heart of paganism is to make all One.

As Chesterton put it in Everlasting Man, “The life of the great civilization went on with dreary industry and even with dreary festivity. Respectfully, I think this gentleman's premise is a bit simplistic. Even many so-called pagan societies of the past had social structure, and didn't always rely on slavery. Within the context of this clip, he keeps repeating the same catch phrases, with rather milquetoast analysis. I'm not in complete agreement with his statement "if you take liberalism to its logical end, that's where we end up." Please remember that a liberal is not always a libertine...and I've known plenty of libertines who are conservatives. P.S. I enjoy this channel.

It's too late in history for a revival of sincere belief in "the gods", as our ancestors practiced, prior to the coming of the Gospel.

Respecting life and seeing all people as valuable doesn’t need to come from an idol or some book. Empathy, compassion and the golden rule doesn’t need to come from religion, however those stories and the wisdom they teach are a great starting point.
I agree with the message of Jesus, I just don’t think we need to make people conform and force them or coerce them to do as we expect. I don’t think I need wear a cross or follow a congregation to see the light that exists in humanity and the beauty of a community and family.
The things you espouse are different from nature worship, which is natural, sensual, demonic (James 3:15). You do not seem to have a complete understanding of Christianity. When we believe in Jesus we are set free from the religious rules of man and we find that when we live by the teachings in the Bible and by Jesus living inside of us, we are made complete. We cannot be true Christians if we are not born again. Being born again is when God changes us on the inside and washes away our rap sheet of sin and puts a new nature inside of us, which we cannot do ourselves. Have you experienced that yet? Also you do not understand humanity. Humanity is filled with darkness, not light. The prophet Jeremiah tells us ”The heart is more deceitful than all things and is desperately sick. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Only in Jesus can people be made right.
Have hope. I see a massive resurgence of Christians. Have hope brothers and sisters.

We can't make forward-thinking decisions without accurately assessing our circumstances. But you are certainly right that we should pray and live in hope. If God grants the nation the grace of repentance, perhaps our chastisement will be lessened.

In my experience, many people using the term conspiracy theory are trying to wave away genuine concerns. Rather than making an argument to explain why their position is correct, they resort to name-calling. History tells us clearly that the powerful do sometimes hatch conspiracies. It's our job to investigate which are fact and which are fiction.

Classical liberals founded this country on Deistic principles that vacate religion of doctrine and therefore morality. They knew at the time that their system will fail if the people are not religious and moral. Unfortunately, their system incentivizes people to abandon their faith in favor of Deism (go along to get along). People eventually realize that a Deistic Christianity is devoid of meaning and therefore self-contadictory and false (and conclude the "rules" are just another form of oppression against their liberty). They think that's all Christianity is and so throw it away in favor of moral relativism and atheism or paganism, etc. This, of course, is incompatible with any sort of just governance and leads to the unraveling of the republic. Some sort of tyranny will emerge. We'll just have to see how that all plays out. This guys book sounds interesting.

So many young people have no experience with having a God relationship. They are their own God's. It's the meme day of age. They hate the idea of following holiness, righteousness, justice and goodness. That's out the window. They've been taught that the Bible is made up stories. You live die and in between you do whatever you want. No consequences. Their argumentive and deny that they have to stand before their creator and give an account of their lives. Boy are they going to get a wake up.
