I have the Sigma 800mm f5.6 EX DG HSM. Good for bird photography and long distances. I wish I could find the SIgma 300-800mm on eBay but did not find any of them in the price range I wanted too back in 2021! Both are great lens! Good luck!
I bought this 300-800mm new in 2018. It was discontinued the following year. It doesn't sell cheaply in Japan either. I want another one. Thanks for watching
@@take33yono33hi! Can I ask what camera body you tested this lens with? Do you know if it works well with canon R cameras? I have the R6 and im thinking of getting this lens, but I dont know how well the autofocus and animal tracking works so im unsure
@@rolib6108 I have a Nikon Z6 and a D500 but let me explain. A Japanese person bought this Sigma 300-800 at a Japanese shop. I got the impressions from that time is as follows (When I was worried about purchasing the ef800mm f5.6l is usm, I bought a second-hand product at a reasonable price on Yahoo! When I used the extender, I was only able to use MF, but when I sent it out for overhaul last month, I was able to use AF even with a 2x extender! moreover! ! Full area AF can be used even when using 2 stages of APO TELECONVERTER 2x + Canon EXTENDER 2xIII. Even in the product information, only MF is available when using the extender. ? ? I use it with the EOS-R, but the AF speed is not so slow that I'm worried about it, and the world of 1600mm is exceptional. In addition, it's 2560mm when the crop is 1.6. When using the EOS R, the F11 display remains the same as when using the 1-step extender. It's too heavy to hold, so there's no problem even without the camera shake function.) I think so. I think you should update the firmware of this lens to the latest version. I'm on the latest version and the autofocus works on the Z6 as well. I hope you have a happy photography life
@@take33yono33 but the sigma 300-800 doesnt have updateable firmware as far as I know... But im not sure. If the autofocus tracking works on your Nikon milc cameras, it has to work on canon too.... I think.
