- One of my favorite scenes from the best werewolf movie of all time, "The Company of Wolves", in which Rosaleen meets the Huntsman for the first time.
NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED.
For anyone commenting about the unibrow- having a unibrow was considered a common indicator that person was a werewolf.
What I love about Micha (the huntsman) is that he owns the role so much that in this scene he just moves like a wolf. The way he looks at her, the head movement and the way he just surrounds her like a predator in front of a pray. Really perfect. This cast is amazing. And Sarah Patterson is just beautiful and innocent like.
"I have the most remarkable object in my pocket" Oh, I´m sure you do mister.
After that he performed his elephant impression
One can only hope!
Like isn't she just a kid... Like wtf. How was this movie allowed???
@@rickyhazard5766 because it was the 80s.....being "PC" didnt exist (thank God)
Ha, haa, haaa, haaaa!
"I have the most remarkable object in my pocket" If that's not a line, I don't know what is.
The best werewolf movie ever made, unique haunting and sublime.
A lot more cooler then the one they created in 2011.
The Huntsman is definitely one of my favorite werewolves, giving him eyebrows that meet in the middle like in folklore is a nice touch.
The Huntsman is hot! Sarah Patterson who played Rosaleen was incredibly lovely. Neil Jordan is indeed a genius. Its a fine line for him to direct the scenes between Mischa Bergese and Sarah Patterson.
Just watched the movie after all these years. Micha Bergese has a great screen presence. He's an amazing dancer I wish I could have seen him live on stage. Unfortunate he didn't make more movies.
You can lose yourself in this movie . Girl both frightened and aroused by the big bad world which she will soon experience as a young woman .You can almost feel the mist in the woods soft on your skin . I hate using the saying 'they don't make them like they used to' but they don't. I remember seeing this film late at night years ago , the lights were off and the wind was howling outside and the rain was pelting off the windows and my girlfriend holding onto me tight as we lay on the couch under a rug enthralled by this Gothic tale .
Just watched the movie your comment is so true! Would you recommend any movies like this?
@@noraozer2800 Check out Valarie and Her Week of Wonders ('70), Snow White: A Tale of Terror ('97), Pan's Labyrinth ('06), Legend ('85), and VIY ('67). If you like anime, check out Spirited Away ('01), Paprika ('06), Perfect Blue ('97), and Paranoia Agent ('04).
@@jeremyrfritz thank you so much for taking the time to write these recommendations! Valarie and her week of wonders has been on my watch list for a long time so this is a sign to watch it asap. Also haven’t watched the 97 version of snow white, Viy, and perfect blue.

@@noraozer2800 No problem! I actually just pre-ordered The Company of Wolves on 4k/blu-ray. I love Carnival of Souls, City of Lost Children, I Walked with a Zombie, and Lemora - will have to check out the rest. That reminds me, another enchanting classic is La Belle et la Bête from 1946. Really incredible.
Micha Bergese is just spectacular. I know he's really a choreographer, but I wish he'd appear in front of the camera more often!
What accent is he speaking? It's fascinating.
@@michaelmclaughlin261 German.

Let's be honest here folks, growing up we all thought the Huntsman was hot.
yep I did too, ahh I love the Huntsman
+Apollymia Parthenos I still do... I always did like dark hair...lol.
Lemon Drops I love him, I fanatized about him more than once lol
Apollymia Parthenos It's okay lol, I understand. He is quite...delicious. Lol.
+Lemon Drops that he is ;) btw he is mine but I am willing to share
The way he moves and talks is just like a wolf. Wonderful cause it makes him all the more attractive!!

@@EmilyGloeggler7984 is there a reason you’re replying to all my comments? Lol I think you’ll find in this world that wolves are more honest and kind than most human men.
Little girls, this seems to say
Never stop upon the way
Never trust a stranger friend
No-one knows where it may end
As you're pretty, so be wise
Wolves may lurk in every guise
Now as then, 'tis simple truth
Sweetest tongue has sharpest tooth.
I wish both the actor and actress starred in more movies... This is still one of my favorite films.
Sim eles desapareceram
He wasn’t an actor. He was a choreographer. I agree though. He should’ve done more movies.
She was just 12 in here. It's amazing how the actors have chemistry despite the creepiness.
It's amazing how creepy you saying creepy and even more creepyness you would look such a thing up. You my dear whatever you are are very average and dull and shouldn't bother with fairy tales you don't believe in them obviously but why am I even bothering.
Feanor Fingolfin grow up
@@feanorfingolfin7414 Silmarillion!!!
I speak for Feanor when I say that's not creepy at all.
Seriously, the Sound Stage Set Designers for this profound and haunting film should have won an Academy Award, for the medieval winter isolation of their strange and ominous, bizarre and unearthly, elaborate surrealistic creations, but they were not even nominated.
She was 12 and he was 39 during this movie. Just an observation, my favorite movie ever.
Not so long ago, men and women were getting married at those age differences all the time, my nana was 15 and her husband, my grandfather was 27, back in the 1930s and with both her parents blessings, because she found a man who really loved her and who worked a regular job and they remained together for 45 years.
@@michaelbruns449 ikr
@@michaelbruns449 that's disgusting and is no longer allowed for good reason.
The only other film ive ever seen thats as strangely provocative and hauntingly evocative as The Company Of Wolves - 1984, is Legend - 1985 by Ridley Scott and both of them are two of my favorite movies ever made and ive seen like thousands.
Both beautiful films 🎥
I Saw this movie by accident....and fell in love With the Huntsman....awesome dark movie
It’s quite a contrast there is a young boy her age that was in love with her, but she obviously had no interest in him whatsoever.
Meanwhile, she meets the Huntsman who is older, mature, more attractive and for better or worse, knows exactly how to talk to a young lady. She knows it may be trouble allowing him to lead her on which is why she doesn’t fully object to him but deep down that’s what she wants and he knows it
I love his boots.
This film penetrated my psyche more than 20 years ago despite the cringey special effects..and it remains pitch perfect. Also: I am struck that this film could never be made today. The tension between the older huntsman and young Rosalie is plain stunning--and absolutely forbidden by today's standards. Also the scene where the young bride is flustered with her children? No way.
I love this film!
One of my favorite movies of all time.
STRANGER DANGER!
This movie was another one of these films that really embodied the Gothic element. Rosaleen was so pure and innocent and the Huntsman was handsome but dark and manipulative.
Metaphorically yes, there is. That's why in the end she becomes a wolf.
nice atmosphere in this movie
Damn you to hell to whom ever took this movie off, the full movie. Now to find it again.
Try internet archive. Subtitles are a little distracting but I'm pretty sure it's the full movie. But you didn't hear it from me. Winks.
It's back on right now so you should watch it before it gets taken down
It’s now on Cinemax
It's on Tubi and Prime Video
I am aware of that. I'm not talking about intercourse. The entire movie is not subtle about the fact that it's about the sexual and metaphysical cannotations of wolves and beastliness
Men in long boots...yum!

Sarah Patterson is so pretty!
Isn't she though? And she made a lovely Snow White as well.
thank you. she looks like me.

She was 12 :-S and he was 39....thats a bit creepy lol (She doesnt look 12, but i read 3 of her biographies to make sure lol)
It's very creepy but in 'those days' men of any age would marry women as young as possible to start pumping out babies
I've seen some places saying she was 14 (born in 1970). I can't fathom her being only 12, she could pass for 20!
@@voicesofww2 dong get into a nite club doorman position !!
no its about rosaleen transition from childhood and innocence to womanhood and wisdom
I love this movie.
So beautiful this film.
3:01 *drooolll* Micha Bergese is so handsome!
This clip gives me ASMR so much
Same
I also wonder how unsusually ASMR works on me. I mean, almost all those ASMR videos which are specifically designed to give ASMR actually give me nothing but irritation, but the ASMR I get from some randomly found clips is surprisingly strong
@@thewintermute7964 I know what you mean! the professional ASMR videos do nothing for me, but movie clips like this, where the actors speak softly with fantastic sound design, do.
If you want a list of movie scenes that give me ASMR, i can give it to you.
I still think the huntsman/werewolf was hot as fuck.
I love this movie, although I saw it so long ago. The wolf is pretty hot! Lol He really does try to seduce Rosaleen and they end up together at the end.
his eyebrows meet in the middle, you dope!!!
"Sweetest tongue has Sharpest tooth"
I wonder if werewolves get furballs.
Only when they have fleas or ticks. Wolves and dogs only get them when they chew at their fur since they don't groom themselves as much as cats do.
Yes
She was my first proper crush. She was gorgeous man
pretty late reply, lol but whatever happened to her? i loved her in snow white.
@@hearts4ozma Knowing Hollywood probably something awful
she was decently known, as an indie actress at least. i look her up and find nothing of her

Amazing movie that I remember stumbling on one evening on tv growing up ..never forgot it -
It seem Sarah Patterson didn’t act much after it??
I found this movie clip, because ive always liked these kind of movies, like return to oz, the 1980 Cannon Movie Tales series. Their like the same set designs.
OMG his accent is the sexist thing i have ever heard
I can't take a guy seriously if he has eyebrows like that.
This is a COOL movie :) too bad it's hard to find it only ebay or amazon but very expensive :D
He's a werewolf and the huntsman ? But i think he's hot i love his voice
I love this movie.

I'm convinced now that the dancing scene in Crimson Peak was inspired by this scene/movie.
He was born in Germany... does he have a german accent? I think so.
Yes a very thick one

I love this scene👍👍excellent movie
Very good film
Weird.
1. Why is there a slimy frog hanging around in winter?
2. Why is the huntsman wearing the glitteriest sparkliest clothes ever?
Frog is a great symbol from all folklore fairy tales (Frog prince), mythology and biblical stories.
Huntsmen were mostly of noble blood. Specially when they had companions and dogs from hunting parties. This is supposed to be a "noble" huntsman. Not a villager hunting in need of food.
Good point because the frog and the glittery clothes do make it a bit far fetched!!! Hahahahaha.... 😉
+Jam Lebrilla
1) Artistry of the 80's
2) ...It was the 80's.
Lemon Drops
Haha. Excellent point on both counts.
It was the Rococo/Georgian era of aristrocrats being obsessed with satin, beading, and embroidery where rich powerful men dressed in heels, wigs, and makeup
That outfit is casual wear by Rococo standards
Similar themes to the movie "Smooth Talk", though that movie doesn't have the more blatant fantastical elements. Smooth Talk is also concerned with a young girl coming into maturity, leaving childhood behind... discovering sexuality... and a seductive, odd stranger posing an ominous threat.
This movie was weird as fuck but strangely entertaining
According to Imdb the girl the plays Rosaleen Sarah Patterson was born 1972 i dont think so she had atleast like 15 no way she was 12 years old
This movie was made in 1984, so yeah, she was 12.
She was born in 1970
She's an idiot anyone who would call this man creepy is an idiot I'm sorry and she is not 12.

que genial film😆!!!!👍😲🌹🍃🌹💎💎💎💎
Why is he giving me Ted Bundy vibes 😬
Feral sensuality that seems predatory and violent
@@Brownsocksflirt not to mention he looks like he could be a relative of Ted Bundy.
@@superdalmatian101 both very good looking
To be 'beastly' is not the course of the wolf, survival as a species - that is the path. People dictate as they see fit. I always call myself an 'old wolf' but with conscience (like the Dark Passenger) but I don't go round riping peoples' throats out or eviscerating them.
Little red riding hood is a metaphor. Beware the silver tounged and gallantly attired...
Dave True but she-wolves are deadlier for they have softest touch, an eye for tact, and a cunning mind ten steps ahead plotting and manipulating others to unknowingly do her bidding. And when it comes to her pups she'll madly tear apart anyone who threatens them.
Then there are the wise, who on the outside are their years, but have wisdom far older than their years are.

It’s a fairytale do not you not understand that? And that’s not revolutionary war era costuming lol …it is in the style of the French court which is what most fairytales employ.
there is no sex scene in this movie

So you say this is metaphorically porn? I don't understand. Little red riding hood is just a fairytale story for children
No, read the original fairytales by Grimm brothers. They were cautionary tales with morals etc.
Ps the originals are severely fecked up
Yep. Rapunzel got seriously knocked up.

Eww how can people say that the huntsman is hot? He is pretty creepy for me.

How the hell did this film get certified for public performance! 😂
@@pubspy2705 It's also grooming young girls to ready them for their transform into werewolves. Alternately those fixated on this could engage their brains and remember that A) It's fictional. B ) It's a homage to fairytales by the brilliant Angela Carter, who had no truck with the sanitising and 'Disneyfication' of folklore, and instead returned such tales to their rightful place.
