Mykelti said they were living off three day old bread from a grandfather’s bakery. She said this on her patreon. So Kody was not providing early on. The wives were on food stamps and welfare and all of them declared bankruptcy at some point. You are not a good man when you father all these kids and you cannot afford to feed them.
Yeah I think it’s pretty clear that notwithstanding the counsel against doing the show that they were given by an official of the AUB, money was the overriding consideration for a family that had been struggling financially for a couple of decades.
@@basicallyno1722 they were on the balls of their collective asses. I think there was a period of time Kody dabbled in selling used cars & that 2seater was a perk, when he wasn’t failing at selling billboard advertising. They regularly shuffled around filing bankruptcies between them. They got food stamps. They were able to buy that polygamous house when Janelle received an inheritance. They were always struggling. The show was like winning the lottery for them.
@@basicallyno1722 They were though. That’s why he is such a narcissist. Who buys a sports car when you have all these kids to feed? Now e know the network paid for the wedding and honeymoon for Robyn. Sickening.
Christine and Janelle didn't even know Kody was courting Robyn until the decision to bring her in was already made. And Janelle thought Robyn was looking for a job, until that time on the couch when Kody announced "we decided Robyn would stay home" and you could tell that was news to Janelle. She was not happy; it was all over her face. And Christine thought Robyn was going to help her with the family childcare, but she didn't. Robyn got her own house and a nanny and kept her children separate from the others. Christine said it broke her heart that Robyn had separate child care arrangements.
I thought Robyn got a seperate house back when they lived in Utah because there just wasn't space for another wife in the house where Kody lived with his other 3 wives.
@@lorrefl7072 Janelle offered part of her section of the big house to Robyn and Robyn turned it down. She wanted her own house where she could have her own private time with Kody, even before they were married.
To hear the guest say that this happens often in polygamy is really eye-opening. This family went on TV to show how great polygamy is, and instead it shows how much polygamy damages families.
I remember my father telling my brother at his (monogamous) wedding rehearsal dinner that the greatest gift he can give his future children is to love their mother with all his heart and soul because that will give them security and a sense of hope for their own futures.❤
In their book, Janelle taks about how awkward it was in the eary days because Kody & Meri were hot & heavy and all over one another. He is LYING that he never loved her.
I agree but I think part of that is also due to the fact that he was on a mission for two years too. I mean hearing the way he talks about sex and women, i don’t doubt he was like that in part due to being celibate for that long
Narcissist don’t really love. They love the supply the others give them. As soon as they perceive they are not getting adequate supply they turn on you. So in a way he didn’t “love” her or any of them. It will be the same with Robyn when she tires of always having to feed his ego.
Solomon was not born yet. Kody adopted the kids before. But Meri mentioned and so did Kody that Meri kept secrets for Kody. Because he said these things would see him in a bad light. He used the religion and her covenant to persuade her. Meri just wanted Kody to keep loving her. He promised her all sorts of things , knowing he was lying. He was always able to manipulate her bc she was his henchman. The OG’s knew she got info and gave it toKody(he admitted he used her for info)she tattled, she also berated the women. Meri knows how she was with others. They couldn’t trust her. But she did it out of indoctrination , love, survival. I hope one day the OH3 can get together and realize they were all in survival. That this cult and Kody manipulated them. It’s such a mysoginistic cult. Stuff is going to come up for several years for these women psychologically. Narcissism is so damaging.
When Melanie mentioned all the girls loved Kody and his family had this amazing reputation, I better understood why Kody is the way he is. It sounds like Kody went from being adored and thinking he was amazing, to realizing he is considered a bad guy in the real world.
That's the thing about a narcissistic person. Once they start aging, they lose a lot of the "charm" they had in the younger years and they can't handle it. I've heard a diagnosed narcissistic person say he doesn't know who he is unless someone tells him. Great way to see why they are the way they are. They have no ability to self reflect. So Kody is unable to handle even constructive criticism because that means something is wrong with him and he can't handle the shame of it. He has to react and make someone else feel bad about themselves to lift himself up. If they're worse than he is, he's still superior.
How ironic that the Browns fought so Kody could publicly acknowledge his children. And when finally he can do that, he decides to reject them all, except for Robin's children. He has absolutely shown the world how hideous and misogynistic polygamy is. There is a very good reason why it's illegal.
The men practicing/condoning polygamy have a highly misguided mindset. If the wife is not loyal or even her children are misbehaving, she is punished. That's why the children of that wife is viewed as "less than" and can all be tossed to the side. So evil in mho.
I know a Christian polygamist family who treat each other w respect. It's not polygamy but the people and type of religion. I'm polyamorus and we're doing great
Awesome interview! Kody clearly loved Meri for several seasons of the show. When she was helping him get ready for his wedding to Robyn, he looked like he might have got up to some hanky panky with Meri if the cameras were not there. So nice to hear somebody take up for Meri.
That scene was kind of disgusting, lol. Kody lusted Robin, the woman he was abt to marry & Meri kind of took advantage of that? Kody was clearly in the mood & so was Meri...I believe Kody wanted Robin and Meri happened to be there. I donno, I took it that way. Can be wrong.
@@Salander-pk5xmI don’t see that as Meri taking advantage of that. She was responding to his show of affection. I’ve always wondered if Kody was doing that for the camera or if it was genuinely how he was with her, at least at times. I can’t tell. But her loyalty to him makes me think she had enough of that kind of affection from him that she had strong memories of it to hold onto despite how horrid he was later to her.
I think Mary was manipulated by Kody into giving up her legal marriage. Kody promised her something in return: a baby, love, time, who knows. He didn’t keep up his end of the bargain.
I think Kody and Robyn both set her up and wanted it to look like her idea so they convinced her it would look better on tv if they looked clueless and then everyone would think Meri was being the family savior!
@@tanyarosemeyer5513yes but it was set up that way so Kody didn’t look like the bad guy. Mer’s demeanour around it was very forced (I recent rewatched - fascinating now we have more facts!)
I love that you guys are exposing the Kody Brown sham show. People are tired of being lied to. I greatly appreciate that all are exposing this show and educating the public on polygamy. Thank you❤
Robyn came up with the plans, Kody followed it, Meri, Janelle, and Christine paid the ultimate price. Then Kody has the audacity to put the blame on them claiming his innocence. Contradicting everything he said on earlier seasons. As if we wouldn’t remember it🤪. EDIT: spelled Meri’s name wrong, oops😅
I heard that Preston was not happy about the kids being on television. The only way to put those kids on TV without Preston's consent was for Kody to legally adopt them Preston was behind on child support (a lot) and being pressured to pay for Daytons medical expenses. Kody and Robin agreed to forgive the child support and pay for the medical bills if Preston gave up custody. Robin promised that Preston could still see the kids, which was a lie. It was very nasty how that went down.
That doesn’t make sense. If back child support was the way they could get Preston to give up custody of their children, wouldn’t they just use back child support to leverage “permission” for filming? Giving up custody is bigger than letting than film…
@basicallyno1722 My understanding was that Preston was threatening to keep the kids from being filmed. It wasn't just child support it was also serious medical bills from Daytons accident. Plus remember Robin left the man in terrible debt.
And Robyn lied! Robyn said Dayton was out of town with friends when he was actually with Kody and at least Hunter, who found Dayton and started helping him with the wounds. She was trying to shield Kody from responsibility and keep Preston from learning the truth.
He doesn't.. He thinks if you don't live by his rules you are out.. And robyn has babied hers to point they still are kids no matter age. So still doing as he wants
Garrison paid the ultimate price, he wasn't just collaterally pained by what happened, he took his life because he didn't get from his father what he saw him giving his new family.
I think it is very gross to speculate why Garrison took his life…. I agree that he was pained by the situation and we can sympathize with that, but this level of speculation isn’t appropriate
@@bethgreene8053it happened before the current season started. My guess would be that he was hurting about what had happened to his family plus mixed with alcohol created a lethal combination. He could have had other things going on as well but his texts right before ending things sounded like it had a lot to do with family/dad stuff. It’s really sad, I feel for any kid hurting that much.
@flop89346 it is statistically accurate. Based on neurological imaging, the most painful thing we know a human can experience is a lack of attachment to your primary caregivers early in life. And it causes lifelong impact. It is truly impossible that his death had nothing to do with his upbringing and parents' behaviors.
I won’t ever forget when Robyn took a picture of Kody, Christine and her younger kids and had the same picture made but instead put herself and her 3 kids before Kody in the sketch! 😳 I was speechless!!
That is so personally invasive and rude. Totally f’d up and just creepy. It’s like trying to “become” them. I guess she kinda did and replaced them with her and her kids.
This is the most insightful conversation I’ve heard on Sister Wives since the beginning. All four of you come from such a unique perspective. Your questions for Melanie and Cory got right to the heart of what we’ve seen but I could never have the insight that you do. I have a friend that I’ve lost contact with that was raised in Mexico at Colonia LeBaron. That was my initial motivation and curiosity about Sister Wives. All four of you are so well spoken. I absolutely loved it when Sam finally came out and said “What a jerk!” knowing that took a lot. I’ve watched your channel from the beginning and couldn’t wait until you caught up on the seasons, knowing you sacrificed your free time to do it. I’ve got to watch this again as it’s digesting. “Long game” hit hard. It was a light bulb moment that explained Robyn’s relationships with everyone, especially the OG3 and Mykelti. I’ve understood Mykelti was innocent in this but I do believe Robyn was selfish with her own motivations. Thank you so much for how much you’ve poured into your channel to help us understand this with depth and kindness. Edited to add: Sam, I admire your courage in leaving at 18, leading you to be blessed with meeting Melissa and structuring your life how you both chose. My friend left Mexico almost forty years ago with four small children with the help of one brother. By you sharing your story, I see the similarities with both of you and the differences. It took a lot for both of you to overcome what could have been crippling adversity. Yet, I look at both of you with so much respect. One of my grandsons is named after one of my friend’s son, his best friend.
I absolutely adore Melanie and Cory and am so glad they started their channel. One of the issues I've had with Sister Wives is the silence outside of the show. TLC forces its reality stars to sign very strict NDAs. TLC has too much power over its cast. It shouldn't be like that. The fact Christine and Janelle are doing so many interviews leads me to believe they made TLC loosen their contract, as they should!
I’ve chosen to follow the Brown’s through creators rather than watching the TLC show directly. Supporting the show feels a lot like supporting Kody & misogyny.
A lot of us have, so far not losing much in redundant and made for tv content. I can’t put a drop in the bucket in the mistreatment of others by Kody and Robyn. I will support those who are sharing their experiences as formerly raised members in polygamist churches & communities.
I think (hopefully) they also get money for it. I watched the early seasons years ago, but these days I prefer to hear it through creators (especially those from the polygamist community) because I don't want to support TLC and their unsafe practices on these reality shows when it comes to minor children.
@@MRuby-qb9bd When I think of how Kody’s et al have exploited their children?!? The fury 😡 TLC doesn’t care!! I’ve even removed them from my channel list!!
Christine ripped off the “cloak of charity” that was shielding Kody’s entitled narcissism. Kody is mad that she stopped trying to make him look good when he should have been more grateful to her support for so many years.
So glad to hear a perspective from the inside of the AUB, I have never seen an anti Meri person, I cannot imagine how difficult & heartbreaking it must be to know your husband is bedroom hopping for years and then to deal with the infertility she had to deal with 😢 I can’t imagine how that would not make you angry and feel like you are doing something wrong.
Thank you Melanie for confirming that the legal adoption didn’t have to occur. I have always thought that their adoption did not make sense. I have the impression that bio dad was not that bad an individual. I think that I couldn’t have given up my parental rights but maybe he didn’t want to be in the public eye.
He was manipulated into signing over parental rights, due to Kodys negligence in Daytons atv accident. Robyn didn't pay the hospital bill for two years and they put a line on both Robyn's and Preston's homes. Kody agreed to pay off the hospital bill if Preston gave up his parental rights. The adoption was so Kody had the right to film the kids as Preston didn't want them on the show.
You don’t even need to be married to adopt someone’s kids in most states, pretty sure this includes Utah, Nevada and Arizona. You just need permission from both parents.
Remember how Robyn’s kids went to visit their dad AFTER the adoption. I think that is evidence that bio dad 1- Was not a bad father and 2- He was told visits would continue after the adoption. Which that did at first, but Robyn ended it for whatever reason. Maybe when he got remarried.
One of the things that Christine says is that she does not trust Robyn, that Robyn says one thing and her actions speak to a different thing. Also, Kody went ahead with the show because he wanted Robyn. Robyn wanted a rich guy to take care of her and Kody was more than willing to oblige.
Well in Crybrows case she married a man with hard working multiple wives to support her shopping habits and queen of the hive lifestyle! Cant stand her or Cooter!
I’ve heard on a different podcast that Christine is suing Kody for back child support, Truely’s medical expenses, and more legal visitation guidelines for Truely if not full custody.
Courts usually do not award child support before a support order is filed. I say usually because states have different laws. But usually "back support" only goes to the date the motion is filed. If there is no order in place you usually can not go into a court and say you want support for the time there was no court order.
I really enjoyed this one. Melanie and Cory were informative in a kind rational way. I think the show gave the og wives the resources and information to be successful to leave. Let's see if Robin survives thirty years with Kody.
Do you realize how hard Mykelti worked to get the little encouraging morsels she got from Robyn? Mykelti was only 13/14. She cooked, cleaned, cared for the children. Robyn never seemed to be fond of caring for her own children or cleaning her own house.....
When this show 1st started, my friends & I were befuddled why Meri, Janelle, and Christine stayed with Kody. He was insufferable from the beginning. We could all see ourselves being friends with the 1st 3 wives and never saw Kody as attractive in looks or personality. We always saw Robyn as a manipulative snake.
Robyn claimed that her kid's dad was abusive, but right after the adoption, she sent them to be alone with him for two weeks. Why would she send them to be with their abusive father.
Maddie has always been super close to Christine and Ysabel was very close to Meri for along time. Jenelle was always the boy mom of the group and I think Paedon definitely wants her there for all of his important moments, Meri’s child used to search out Jenelle as well when they still lived at home; so I do think this has been more or less the norm in the Brown family.
I feel the same way about the cognitive dissonance that Robyn displays. I don’t think she ever wanted to be the only wife. But she wasn’t willing to not be the favorite wife or have her kids not be favored over the others. And now she’s blaming it on everyone except herself.
Yes… my opinion is that Robyn quite enjoyed Kody going off to see the others to get her free time, but definitely wanted the perks of being the favourite wife. Now she has to have Kody 24/7 she’s finding out he’s not all that 😂
I’m so glad i found this channel! Without a crystal ball can’t stop psychoanalyzing and projecting… she often gets things wrong and is such a polygamy social justice warrior but for her own clout …great video🎉
@@kimberlyc114 Yes, Preston has been maligned since the beginning. His silence speaks volumes of his character. I would love to know his story. If Kody is afraid of the OG3 finally speaking up, he will be completely unhinged for Preston to speak his truth.

We have to remember that Kody felt “betrayed” by his first 3 wives because they weren’t in to some of the things he wanted from them and Robyn accommodates his wants.
Yeah… by ducking his lollipop… I totally believe she did anything in the bedroom and the others probably didn’t because they actually lived their beliefs. I so wish her ex or even people from her past would come out and tell the stories. I believe she probably slept with a few guys, and dressed like a teenager.
I saw all the pictures of Kody and Robyn’s home before they pulled it off the market. Kody and Robyn have tons of stuff. It looks horrendous but them having access to all the other wives money, Robyn is not wanting to lose that cash. Kody too.
Cody is such a selfish self centered man and will never take responsibility for any of his mistakes it is always someone else’s responsibility not his.
Great discussion! I wonder if Kody really was different in season 1. Personally, I think he was wearing a mask and at that time. Plus the wives were all compliant. It was a red flag to me that he driving around in a two seater car when he had all those children.
I so agree. But I have another point of view…because of the show $$$$ were coming in to KODY and he had control and he loved being the big shot with the two seater luxury convertible! No regard for to 11 or 12 children he had at the time! Playing BIG SHOT….egomaniac…
I think his ‘change’ came about for a number of interrelated reasons: The dynamic between a father & his children changes as the children grow to adulthood & it’s not so effortless & can sometimes be very challenging - Kody was never up for any challenges in that department. I think they all, the wives and the kids, just became too friggin’ burdensome for him, and he was tired of it. He was not getting a ‘return on his investment’ from them, in the way he was with Robin & her brood. PLUS, I think his daddy issues got resolved with his father’s passing (I suspect getting his father’s approval was the instigating factor for him joining the AUB when he did). He wanted what he wanted, and what he wanted eventually came to exclude the OGs & their kids. The biggest difference from Season 1 Kody to Season 19 Kody is that the mask has dropped.
Absolutely dying waiting for this episode to drop! A combination of my favorite polygamy/Mormon educating couples… I really love listening to both of you channels!
I love your guests. They are so thoughtful and insightful. Such a great explanation of the the AUB background that non polygamist commentators do not have so the context is awesome.
The fact that he’s continued to lash out at Christine and Meri and Janelle-claiming to have”never loved” them screams unrequited love/lust. His ego is black and blue-that’s all and I’m all in for it.
Kody ALWAYS went on and on about how much he loved being a dad. He loves his kids etc etc... Then along comes covid asks he's telling Janelle to kick the boys to the curb. I was so shocked. What kind of parent says that?? I give Janelle so many props for NOT doing that and defending the kids.
Awesome interview!!! I feel that we are now understanding so many things, that didn't make sense or sounded so foreign, now that we are hearing from Melanie & Cory. When Cody said, "Don't blame me for not loving you!" to Mary, it was so weird & twisted. After hearing from Melanie & Cory about the belief & perspectives of men in the ABU, it now makes more sense why Cody would say something so horrific & crazy. He was taught that women must earn his attention & affection. If they displeased him or didn't kiss is feet on everything ... they lost favor & were even called "disloyal" or labeled as having betrayed Cody & the family. I can't wait to hear more of Melanie & Cory's insights ... it really helps to understand just how difficult the wives & children's lives really were. Especially the middle aged children in the Brown family.
It was part of the original Mormon doctrine, the "law of chastity " where wives past childbearing age were no longer allowed to be intimate with their husbands
Meri was a strong woman and Kody tore that down. When Meri "cyber cheated" it bruised Kody's tiny ego and that's when their marriage went downhill. He thought he could manipulate her into thinking he was awesome, when in fact he was quite the tiny little boy.
Yes! He melted down his wedding ring given by Meri 6 years prior to the catfishing. I’m sure he was very afraid of what Meri might say if he had “ripped off the bandage sooner.” Kody was pretty cruel to Meri over the years.
I'm about to go through a divorce and I have an eight year old daughter with my husband. I will never ever say to anyone that I regret my life with her father nor will I ever say I never loved him. We have not told our daughter yet but she knows something is going on and she has been asking questions and every time she does, I am always crystal clear that her dad and I will always love one another and we will always be a family. I don't care how angry I might be, I would never dream of saying the sort of things about my soon to be ex husband that Kody says about the mothers of the majority of his kids on national television with his full chest. Of course he doesn't have a good relationship with his kids...My biological mother is a horrible person but the one and only person I will always defend her against is my dead beat father. I feel like he has no right to say a word against the person he abandoned two children with. 🤷🏻♀️
@@donnamays24 Thank you so much ! We are trying our best to make this as easy on our daughter and each other as we can. There's no bitterness between us. We just grew apart and we see life too differently to ever really make it work. We tried for nearly eleven years and it's just time to call it quits before there's any animosity between us. We are lucky that we can agree on everything and we won't need to go to court for anything but finalizing the divorce. But emotionally it will be tough on all of us, especially our daughter. As a bastard, I never saw my parents divorce but I had a lot of friends who went through that when we were kids and it was hell for them because their parents were already full of animosity towards one another and the divorce was more like a war, making the kids feel like they had to take sides. So we are treading carefully to try to prevent long term damage. In the long run we know we will all be happier and I think we will be better as family that co-parents than we are as a married couple. If Kody's ego wasn't so damn big, I think he and Christine could have had that sort of breakup. Instead, he chose the "I Don't Want Her But I Don't Want Her Moving On" route and that really sucks for everyone involved.
@@dstat74 For me, the thing that seemed best for everyone was to call it quits before we hated each other and wanted a fight to prove something in the divorce. We have tried for years to make it work. We still love and care for one another but it's not a romantic love. I have resentment over things that happened in the past and things that continue today. I am sure he has some resentment towards me as well but it's not so much that it overrides the desire to do this as painless as possible for all three of us. I honestly think that's where Christine was at to begin with but Kody's ego and pride were too wounded to ever make the process of leaving him an easy civilized thing. And it's a damn shame. If you watch the "Knife in the kidneys" episode, Christine was really trying to do things the way my husband and I are trying it but Kody just couldn't set aside his ego to do things in a way that was easy for everyone, including his kids.
I was SO amazed by how Christine handled having Robyn play such a huge role in the birth of the twins. If it had been me, I would’ve been so hurt. I admire Christine’s attitude more than I can say
Yes Sol was born. In fact Robyn was pregnant with Ari when her older kids were adopted. Sol’s over 4 years older than Ari, so he was definitely around when all of this was going on.
Cody is a huge jerk! He will never be satisfied with only one wife because of his huge ego. Being a polygamist allowed him to be a player and think he is being loyal. He may be in love with one wife, but is in lust with the others.
From what I’ve heard, Robyn’s oldest son that got in the 4-wheeler accident (that was apparently under Kody’s watch) had crazy medical bills and Robyn got a lien put on her house. Kody and Robyn allegedly talked Preston into signing his rights away so Kody would pay the medical bills because I guess the agreement was that Preston would pay medical stuff for the kids but he said it was Kody’s fault that Dayton got hurt so he should pay anyway…or something along those lines! And Robyn promised that Preston would still see the kids but clearly that didn’t happen.
OK, it was not only under Cody’s watch. It was up in Burley when they went to visit Christine’s brothers because when Christina and Janelle were there last season, they passed by the place where he wrecked and I recognize the spot.

Cody not being able to self govern because of being in a restrictive religion explains a lot about him. Enjoyed the video, all of you have such interesting insight.
I think Kody was so jealous of Robyn's ex-husband that he wanted to erase him from her history. How about the creepy picture Robyn had painted to feed Kody's ego, or to assuage his jealousy
My feeling has always been that in order to assure Robyn that Kody will never leave her, he says the difference is that he truly loves her but has never loved his other wives. In order for Robyn to save her reputation and continue to paint herself as a saint, she has to keep stating the reason she fell in love with Kody was because of how well he loved his other wives.
When Mykelty saw the difference between Robyn's words and actions plus considered how Kody interreacted with Mykelti and her family, how could she not move far away from both her biological parents in order to process and renegotiate her relationships with her biological parents. What Mykelti finally saw was that her family was not a family at all. It had to have deeply shaken Mykelti.
I watch both of your channels and really loved watching this interview/collaboration. Both of you couples may not be examples of how polygamy is good, like what the Browns were supposed to be but in my opinion, it does show us that you are pretty normal.
David on PopPsych mentioned after we found he rhio dad basically left her….that perhaps Robyn triangulated herself to be the middle and center of attn so that she wouldn't be abandoned. In doing that, she got exactly what she wanted but the consequences is something she didn't expect to happen. Or something along those lines.
Yeah that’s usually how crazy making works. I do think that Robyn also wanted comfort and money too. Part of her abandonment as a child probably affected her quality of life and desire for money. Didn’t she have a shopping addiction as per her divorce records?
@@basicallyno1722 Comfort and money are definitely big motivators for sure. My understanding is she did have a shopping addiction and was thousands in debt.
I’m only on season 9 and one thing I’ve noticed from the beginning is that, no matter the subject, Robyn always has something to say. ALWAYS!! This is the first time seeing your channel. Very insightful comments on the culture of the family before they are going into the show. Especially insightful on how Meri would be seen as agressive in the church culture
My understanding is that the Brown’s were one of a couple of other possible families that were ‘auditioning’ for the show, and it has always been my suspicion that Robyn (or more generally, a 4th wife) was courted by Meri & Kody for the express purpose of positioning their family as a more interesting storyline for the show: 3 established marriages of 20 years, along comes a 10 years younger divorcee with 3 kids of her own, let’s see what happens. The cherry on top was that Kody is a camera hog & apparently is never happier than when he’s being worshipped by a horde of people. Apparently, the show brought a pretty solid paycheck with it for the Brown’s, who likely would never have been able to make that kind of money without the show. So ……. $$$$$$$$$$.
I still claim this show saved those kids from being secretive, outcast from society and socially backwards (because of hiding). The show and moving allowed the kids to integrate into mainstream society and make friends outside of their cult situation. And yes, even the OG3 wives found enlightenment and truth, as painful as that process was.
You can see in his eyes he adored her. The soft smile her gave her. He's a liar. He was madly in love with Mary. Then a new younger manipulative woman killed it. It's sad but Mary was his true love until Robin told him he didn't actually love Mary and he eventually ignored her and walked away.
So true, their story is an anomaly because the wives have opportunities to make money from reality tv, I hate to think about the other women in polygamy who are stuck without financial help.
So glad you asked about Robyn’s ex I felt he was treated so unfairly to suit Robyn’s agenda as far as they basically said if you don’t pay Dayton’s medical bill that happened under Kody’s supervision, we will go for adoption of all the kids. I hope he is well I heard he was battling cancer - that poor man. Oh and is Dayton living with his Dad now ( I hope so) as he doesn’t appear in the show at all now. Thank you for giving the facts about Robyn and her ex’s family. I felt they were trash talking the children’s father and now I have heard your opinion I just feel so sad for those girls not seeing their Dad. So sad.
What do you guys think about Kody calling Robyn the “prophetess” of the family? It just seems like Kody has SO much reverence for Robyn and her opinion, and it seems like he’s allowed Robyn to ultimately make the decisions…all while allowing Kody think the decisions were his because he’s only being led by Robyn’s ability to channel God. The covid rules, the moves (especially to Flagstaff), Meri’s divorce, etc. it all seems to have revolved around Robyn and her false prophecies.
Kody could have still ended his earlier marriages, but with some grace and respect. As we age, love, what we need and can give a partner change as we grow and change. That's natural. My dad always said "You grow together or you grow apart as time goes by." A person can learn and realize "This relationship no longer has functional value. Can we save it? If not, let's recognize that." Accountability. But no! Kody projects everything is everyone else's fault and Kody gives off some big barks, then tucks his tail and runs! It's frustrating, disgusting, so mean and invalidating. And sad. Thank you for an excellent, informative interview. It provided more clarity.
I don’t think Kody would be okay with anyone talking badly about HIS mother. It’s like he really has no empathy for anyone, much less, his own children. It’s so frustrating to watch.
OH I LOVE THEM!! I caught their live on tic tok randomly and they cracked me up. I love how real yet unserious they are. I also realized that 😅 I watch you all the time and wasn’t subscribed. Keep reminding folks. Sometimes you all just show up on my feed and I didn’t realize that I wasn’t a subbie.
There was discussion on other shows about how they told the bio father he would still have the same visitation rights as before but that the huge medical bills from Dayton’s accident would be paid off by Kody if he gave up his rights.
Appreciate your channel so much. Been watching for a while, subbed early on. What speaks volumes is that neither of you do any sort of bashing. You’re so incredibly respectful and careful with your words. I’ve still to watch your faith evolution story but I’m going to guess you still have a higher power guiding your life❤ Also, this video is going to get you to that 100k sub goal easily-mark my words lol!
Was reported a while ago that Kody made Meri divorce, came up with the plot line but was to use Daytons medical bills to force his father to give up rights. Meanwhile nasty Robin had already been alienating the children from their father. Karma will come for these narcacissits
26:45 exactly !!! We keep hearing the polygamy justification that the women are of course going to be jealous of other wives and of course there will be personality clashes amongst the wives, but it’s all in order for them to grow as people and become closer to God. It’s their “test.” Okay, if that’s the case, then wouldn’t the same be true for the man- if he does have stronger feelings for one wife, that’s his opportunity to grow beyond that and not show favor to her but rather to maintain equality amongst his wives and children… that would be he man’s “test.” If so, Kody clearly failed miserably, same as he has failed at every other thing he has attempted in his life 🙄😳
I don't believe Robyn wanted polygamy because she always manipulated Kody's time, so he spent all his time with her. She always found a reason to get Kody over to her house when he was supposed to be with the other women and children. They all used to get together on Fridays, and Robyn stopped that practice. Robyn says things on the show, hoping that we are buying her narrative that she wants polygamy. Robyn found out about the show and manipulated her way unto it. Not having the other women with them threatened the continuity of the show. Robyn wanted the show, the money it provided, and Kody to herself. She and Kody gaslighted the women, and Robyn kept up the fake narrative of wanting polygamy.
It doesn’t seem like they were struggling THAT much with Kody’s ridiculous two-seater sports car…
@@bunnybunny3536. They all willingly committed fraud.
Yep it was a no from the beginning and she played him to get what she wanted! He’s an idiot
Oh I don’t remember that part when Kody announced Robyn would stay home and not work. I’d love to see that scene.
@@lorrefl7072 Janelle offered part of her section of the big house to Robyn and Robyn turned it down. She wanted her own house where she could have her own private time with Kody, even before they were married.
Mary and kody went behind the other wives back and brought Robyn in and kept the relationship a secret!!!!!
I mean hearing the way he talks about sex and women, i don’t doubt he was like that in part due to being celibate for that long
I didn’t know about that. Thank you for sharing that!
Heck to the yeah he is lying!
I'm polyamorus and we're doing great
@annetteanderson7816 for now... Kody and wives were doing good, at the beginning, but look at them now.
Awesome interview! Kody clearly loved Meri for several seasons of the show. When she was helping him get ready for his wedding to Robyn, he looked like he might have got up to some hanky panky with Meri if the cameras were not there. So nice to hear somebody take up for Meri.
Kody said in the first season Meri was his soul mate & they called each other ‘Lover’ first few seasons
Right when she was fixing his tie he was looking at her like he was in love with her and I think he was in love with Christine too
@sherrita or just happy he had so much control over her. Remember, Robyn started off as Kody and Meri’s little secret.
Exactly!
I remember the episode and it appeared to be a complete surprise to kody that she offered the divorce
@tanyarosemeyer5513 , that was an act. They 100% manipulated Meri and caused poor Meri to lose what she felt gave her self-worth in that family.

Dayton was under kodys supervision at the time of the accident.@Fuzzyedgz
@@basicallyno1722Robyn wanted to be the legal wife as then if Kody died she had all the assets or half if she left him.
And Robyn lied! Robyn said Dayton was out of town with friends when he was actually with Kody and at least Hunter, who found Dayton and started helping him with the wounds. She was trying to shield Kody from responsibility and keep Preston from learning the truth.
I find it disgusting that Kody feels his children no longer needs a father after they become adults.
Obviously that's not the case. How sad.
Except when you’re 18 and need a daddy-daughter day to get your ears pierced
He doesn't.. He thinks if you don't live by his rules you are out.. And robyn has babied hers to point they still are kids no matter age. So still doing as he wants

But he sure makes an exception for the golden children, Robyn's.
Garrison paid the ultimate price, he wasn't just collaterally pained by what happened, he took his life because he didn't get from his father what he saw him giving his new family.
💯💔
I think it is very gross to speculate why Garrison took his life…. I agree that he was pained by the situation and we can sympathize with that, but this level of speculation isn’t appropriate
What??? Omg… I’m new to the show, like on season 9, in 4 days of watching, new.
He killed himself??😢😢😢
@@bethgreene8053it happened before the current season started. My guess would be that he was hurting about what had happened to his family plus mixed with alcohol created a lethal combination. He could have had other things going on as well but his texts right before ending things sounded like it had a lot to do with family/dad stuff. It’s really sad, I feel for any kid hurting that much.
@flop89346 it is statistically accurate.
Whaaaat?
Beautiful
I absolutely adore Melanie and Cory and am so glad they started their channel. One of the issues I've had with Sister Wives is the silence outside of the show. TLC forces its reality stars to sign very strict NDAs. TLC has too much power over its cast. It shouldn't be like that. The fact Christine and Janelle are doing so many interviews leads me to believe they made TLC loosen their contract, as they should!
I’ve chosen to follow the Brown’s through creators rather than watching the TLC show directly. Supporting the show feels a lot like supporting Kody & misogyny.
SAME
A lot of us have, so far not losing much in redundant and made for tv content.
Same. I canceled my streaming subscription.
I loved watching Kody's ego get crushed by christine
He was also in the beginning of his sickness. Poor man
@@shelagh7850so true yeah they didn’t want to pay and they were trying to stick him with all the bills with her debt on with the hospital bill and
Remember how Robyn’s kids went to visit their dad AFTER the adoption.

It’s true, the documents were posted publicly.

@@judypranke735 Oh yeah that’s right!!
Correct; Kody has been served.
Great video ❤ I love how channels are coming out with facts about Kody and Robyn’s narrative.
Excellent job on this interview Sam and Melissa. Nice to hear from former members of the AUB.
Spot on! Offering the surrogacy was part of that long game!
Say what you want about Kody, those 3 women together raised intelligent, responsible, respectable, GOOD human beings.
@@bunnybunny3536 I give very little credit to Kody for this. They turned out so well despite him. The mom’s had everything to do with it.

Love you Sam & Melissa. Thanks for introducing me to Cory & Mel ❤
Same! That car was pure vanity! And with all those kids and him buzzing around town in a convertible 2 seater was absolutely pathetic!

The fact that he’s continued to lash out at Christine and Meri and Janelle-claiming to have”never loved” them screams unrequited love/lust. His ego is black and blue-that’s all and I’m all in for it.

Kody said so many terrible things about his wives and children. I really think that he is responsible for what happened to Garrison. RIP Garrison.
Kody lost interest in each wife as they stop giving him children. They no longer served a purpose. He will eventually leave Robin too.

Meri was a strong woman and Kody tore that down. When Meri "cyber cheated" it bruised Kody's tiny ego and that's when their marriage went downhill. He thought he could manipulate her into thinking he was awesome, when in fact he was quite the tiny little boy.
It was already downhill! That’s why she emotionally cheated. He abandoned her years ago in Vegas.
He abandoned her when she couldn't give him more kids.
Yes! He melted down his wedding ring given by Meri 6 years prior to the catfishing. I’m sure he was very afraid of what Meri might say if he had “ripped off the bandage sooner.” Kody was pretty cruel to Meri over the years.

She's too wrapped up in David to care. Robin staying over to help with the twins meant Christine didn't have to.
This was an excellent interview!! Thanks for sharing!
Interesting!
OK, it was not only under Cody’s watch. It was up in Burley when they went to visit Christine’s brothers because when Christina and Janelle were there last season, they passed by the place where he wrecked and I recognize the spot.
@@MichelleMyBelle33 was it Kody and all the wives or was it all the boys went 4-wheeling or something like that? I just know Preston wasn’t there of course.
@@hannahl3891it was just Kody and the boys! Preston was nowhere near the area it happened in Utah or Montana what Kody originally stated! Kody tried to blame it on being on Preston’s watch! Kody is a pathological liar! He finally came clean first time I think he’s ever told the truth that he was there when he was injured!
@@maureenmiller-delisle2505 yeah that’s what I thought. I feel so bad for Kody’s kids because their dad is a pos.
Cody not being able to self govern because of being in a restrictive religion explains a lot about him. Enjoyed the video, all of you have such interesting insight.
I have never clicked so fast in my LIFE
🤣

Thank you ❤❤
@@Musicaloblivion_em7 Same, best interview ever!!!
Right???😂
Great collaboration! I enjoy both your channels. 💕
I think Kody was so jealous of Robyn's ex-husband that he wanted to erase him from her history. How about the creepy picture Robyn had painted to feed Kody's ego, or to assuage his jealousy
The comment on Robyn with Mykelti I feel is spot on!!
This was the only good that came out of this show. The wives left and the children are free.
Fantastic podcast! I learned a lot from the four of you. I enjoyed hearing this conversation. Very informative.
ALWAYS!! Janelle sits there saying very little and she’s been around for years, but Robyn says shit from the very beginning about everything… I’m like, how do you know, you’re new here!!
@@basicallyno1722when that part was playing at the credit for the house scene… I was immediately saying… I bet all that debt is from her…
@@bethgreene8053 that’s very true!! You are so right! She interrupts, tries to act as a mediator when never asked (except by Meri on camera), and very much interjected herself and centered herself.
Found their channel this week and love their content!
I have learned so much through this podcast with you four wonderful individuals, I hope you both do many more podcasts together, you all are filling in many questions we all have 🙋♀️. Thank you
Thank you, great job to all 4 of you!
There are three sides to a story his, hers, and the truth
This is why we speak. So the generations after us know what to avoid, and the generations before us finally see the acceptance they deserve.
You never know who you are impacting. ❤
This just makes me feel so valid in how I feel about Robyn and Kody… one of my most favorite videos ever!
Sol was born Oct 2011, Ari Jan 2016. Adoption June 2015
Thanks!
I don't think cody worries about anyone else's feelings
What a tangled web we weave!!
Very fitting
You can see in his eyes he adored her. The soft smile her gave her. He's a liar. He was madly in love with Mary. Then a new younger manipulative woman killed it. It's sad but Mary was his true love until Robin told him he didn't actually love Mary and he eventually ignored her and walked away.
You all are fabulous! Answers to questions we've had forever, respectful, and great insights. ❤
New subscriber here ......Thank you for this information. You're doing great things. ❤
@@claudiamousseau1873 You’ve come to the right place. I highly recommend watching their back content!
Great interview
I think if they never had the show they would have never have the financial opportunity to leave and support themselves
That is a VERY GOOD POINT!
So true, their story is an anomaly because the wives have opportunities to make money from reality tv, I hate to think about the other women in polygamy who are stuck without financial help.
@@lolabunny9013 Yes, it’s so sad knowing that there are women out there in such dire situations with nowhere to go and no one to help them escape.
I'm mainstream LDS and I love you guys 😊
Best review I've seen so far. Fantastic and informative.
Yep Kody and Robin acts like we haven't been watch them for years
I don’t think Kody would be okay with anyone talking badly about HIS mother. It’s like he really has no empathy for anyone, much less, his own children. It’s so frustrating to watch.
Kody treated his mom like crap. If someone talked sh-t about his mom, I doubt he would care.
Great point regarding the adoption and bring the family together!
Excellent interview….exposed so much . Polygamy is an impossible lifestyle for the wives and children . K
Appreciate your channel so much. Been watching for a while, subbed early on. What speaks volumes is that neither of you do any sort of bashing. You’re so incredibly respectful and careful with your words. I’ve still to watch your faith evolution story but I’m going to guess you still have a higher power guiding your life❤
Also, this video is going to get you to that 100k sub goal easily-mark my words lol!
Was reported a while ago that Kody made Meri divorce, came up with the plot line but was to use Daytons medical bills to force his father to give up rights. Meanwhile nasty Robin had already been alienating the children from their father. Karma will come for these narcacissits
Don’t need to be legally married to adopt someone’s kids.
@basicallyno1722 he wanted to me married to her and it cut any legal ties to Meri. The perfect plan
What a great couple and conversation. Love this!! ❤
